what the fuck...why is it so expensive?
Some people at Cheap Ass Gamer got pissed because they missed it for $7.99, and were accusing defender (A mod of CAG and the store's owner) of false business practices. He made it that much to piss them off so they couldn't complain about it being $7.99 and missing it anymore.
Egbert, I miss you...
Whoa...the things I can do with that mmuch money...
ProtoPages.net
It's about the prototypes, baby!
After hearing the story behind that, that guy is my hero.
Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text
After hearing that story, that guy is a jerk.
Who CARES if a customer is pissed off? That happens to stores all the time. Now all this high price does is piss off good customers even more. Stupid. Remind me not to buy anything from there.

That price sucks!
My Gaming Collection (Now at Google Drive!)
Actually, none were missed at the $7.99 price because that was a joke as well. There were at least two threads on the CAG board the last day or so where this was brought up.Originally Posted by Querjek
Well, defender said that he sold 6 copies for that much. And, soulblazer, if you think that's bad, then you should read the stories at www.actsofgord.comOriginally Posted by mikeetler

I must have missed that post. I saw one yesterday where he claimed the $7.99 price was a joke in response to Best Buy having it listed but never in stock.Originally Posted by Querjek
Based on the fact the online site is based out of (and was) Multimedia 1.0, that $1,000+ price tag really doesn't suprise me, even if it wasn't a joke.
I'm firmilar with Gord's site -- are you refering to one story in perticular? How about a link if you are? There's a lot there.
And I remember, Best Buy was selling Ikaruga for sale online only a few months ago. The supplies were VERY limited, however, and were gone in the first day. It's a common promo that stores will use -- get someone into a store (or in this case, a site) for a cheap deal and then hit them with everything else you have.
I STILL say it's a bad joke and in bad taste for that crazy price, though, especily to people who don't know. I'm thinking about e-mailing him and asking what the REAL price of the game is.

Nah, none in particular. Seen the new comic? It's nice to see new stories.

Well, this topic was smooth sailing until I came to that. The popularity of "DING!" or "BING!" at this forum never ceases to amaze me...Originally Posted by portnoyd
So anyhow, what the heck does that mean? This is all an in-joke, right?
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahah...
That is some shit ...
i guess that guy doesnt like being taught a lesson.
He gives them hahah.
Lead, Follow , or get the F*** out of my way !
The joke is, when you go into the store (or the original online store) they are EXTREMELY overpriced. We are talking about $50-75 for a 4 switch Atari, yea, two controllers, power cord, tv game switch, etc. But no games. etc.
Boxed Intellivision system changer $100
Assorted videogame based board games $30-45 each.
"But it sometimes caters to upper class folks who don't know where else to get that stuff"
Well, if you've ever been to St. Mark's in real life you will know the store, the people down there aren't really comparible to Park Ave.
Case in Point: Their prices make eBay look sane.
If you find an old issue of Foul mag and follow the url given for multimedia 1.0 you are rerouted to VideoGameDeals. Also, the addresses from VGD & MM1.0. Oh, and the person reviewing Ikaruga on the page listed above is our own geelw.
