Yarou Famiclone - Internals? Reliability? Sound quality?

Does anyone have photos of the internals of the 'Yarou' famicom clone? The one that's MegaDrive (Model 2) shaped but with big blue domes on everything in XBox style. I basically want to know if it uses actual ICs or just a Famicom on a Chip, the ones that produce that terrible off-key music and messed up sound effects (like in my friend's Plasticom).

Also a rather n00bish question .. it takes 100v (Japanese power standard) and I live in the US (120v power standard). Think the adapter can tolerate that or do I need to rig up my own adapter for its 9v plug?

Saving this topic from flying off the page in 1 hour, I know it's a pretty common machine. Does anyone own one who can take a PCB photo or scan?

If it was made sometime after the Famicom era, I can virtually guarantee that its using one of those NES on a Chips, and I hear their sound quality sucks hard. I assume that the poor sound quality is because the NES on a Chip sound hardware does not produce entirely accurate NES sound, cheap or inaccurate filtering is used, and the sound channels are mixed on chip instead of off chip as in a real NES/Famicom.

Sounds like it's a given that it's an NES on a chip. Think how much cheaper it must be to crank it out rather than all those individual components.

Incidentally, thanks for bringing up the unit, searching for it on ebay led me to an import seller where I was able to nab a boxed copy of Akumajo Special: Boku Dracula-kun for 14 bucks shipped.

I know :P If it is a NES on a chip. (probably). A scan would be grand. :P But if I do decide to get it (Sound problems on the NES on a chip seem limited to a slight lowering of pitch .. I can tolerate it really) .. I would probably trick it out with blue LEDs under each clear dome.

I hear DMC/PCM sounds, drums, percussion, and digitzed voice, are most often affected.
