Default C-64 30 in 1 Games Console (Joystick) soon released

The C-64 gets honoured and will get it's own Competition Pro Joystick with 30 C-64 games built in.
The company Tulip Computers, with Ironstone Partners, will release this beauty, with games like Epyx World and California Games, and hopefully many more classic titles.

Let's hope for not many UK titles, but loads USA titles, please!

As long as it has Bruce Lee, Ultimate Wizard and Space Taxi it's cool with me!

They should make a breadbox c64 with a little keyboard.. comes with Zork I, II, III and Bards Tale I, II, III.. That would rock..

ooh, i don't know Space Taxi..... I wanna play it

I want cool stuff like 'Raid on Bungeling Bay', 'Castles of Dr Creep', 'Spare Change' all those other excellent Broderbund games. Also, I would like some EA games, Accolade games, Origin games, and 'Dallas Quest'.

I would guess Impossible Mission, Paradroid, Great Giana Sisters ... trying to think what else would be included. I would probably buy one just to play in the car, but I still have my C64 hooked up so I still play all the stuff.

Since they mentioned Epyx games, either of the Jumpman games would sell me on the spot! Though I'd probably settle for Sword of Fargoal, Temple of Apshai or Legend of Blacksilver. God, I love EPYX.

Basically it will be games they can license, and games that don't require any keyboard interaction (as it's just a stick you plug into the TV). Impossible Mission would definitely be a winner here... apart from the hiscore table

You know as long as the games aren't complete ass, I very well may pick one of these up. I do miss the 64. Do you think they will be limited to cart games?

    Cheers,

This sounded really cool at first... but then I realized that the vast majority of my favorite C-64 games wouldn't work very well in this form... such as Wasteland, Ultima 4, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Pools of Radiance, Elite, and so on.

Oh well, I guess there are plenty of arcade style games... Pharoah's Curse, Trolls & Tribulations, any of the Dizzy games, Jumpman (and/or Jumpman Jr.), IK+, and any of Jeff Minter's games would work well.

Getting all the rights to these games will be tricky though. It won't surprise me a bit if it turns out that the only games that make it in are all Epyx games (Although that's not necessarily a bad thing, since Epyx made plenty of great games).

I wonder if the hardware could be hacked to run C64 carts.

Considering the hardware in every other 'system in a joystick', I'm gonna say no.

There's a rumor going around that Jeri Ellsworth, creator of the Commodore One, had something to do with this unit, so if that's true, then it MIGHT actually be possible after all...
