Can I say that I'm just a little bitter that a brain donor like Tommy Tallarico can get a job as a game reviewer on a national television network, while I'm treated like a pariah by every professional gaming magazine and web site in the entire universe?

As for Pac-Man, I heard rumors that he was writing the tunes for the Playstation version of Pac-Man World... not the classic Pac-Man that everyone remembers fondly. He also likes to tell everyone that he was involved with Metroid Prime, but what he DOESN'T say is that he was fired from that project.

I wouldn't go as far to say that. Music is just as important, if not more so, than every other aspect in games. It helps set the mood better than graphics can, and without it, a game can suck horribly (Slave Zero and Cyber Morph?)

While the guy may be an obnoxious prick (who has only contributed a whole lot of butt-rock to the game industry), I do have more respect for him than most professional reviewers, from what little I've seen of the show. If there's anything I absolutely HATE in a game reviewer, it's some little pussy that praises everything and sugarcoats what few and far apart complaints they have. At least, this guy has the balls to really be harsh on a game, and I like when the two hosts argue. It's got a Siskel and Ebert feel to it, which I can really appreciate.

He is the founder and president of GANG? o_O Well, there's another reason for me to dislike him. Yeah, awards to recognize all that game music has to offer, yet they nominate like... one... Japanese game/artist, and then the rest is a whole bunch of garbage by American composers. If the music they nominate is truly the best game music of each year, then I guess I better stop buying game soundtracks because it all sucks. Oh wait... "whole world" doesn't mean "America", so I guess I'll go back to listening to GOOD composers AKA Japanese composers (unless they want to nominate Jeremy Soule or Dave Wise, but it's not like that's ever going to happen). :/

And seriously, what's with all the exclamation points in that guy's rant? Sheesh, he makes some very good and valid points about reviewing (I have to deal with the same kind of moronic complaints about my reviews), but he's going about it all wrong.

No Doubt Tommy T is an ass, but his videogame music for Pac-man World and Earthworm Jim 1+2 is really awesome.

His "reviews" are pretty suspect tho...

EDIT: Having now read his comment on the G4 board, Tommy's post came off as "spirited" but pretty laid back. And Judgement Day is one of the better shows on G4, probably because Tommy and Vic try to be entertaining to the viewer as well as review games...

I had no idea that Tommy & Vic were G4 guys. I've seen their show on Space before and thought they were just another Mickey Mouse Canadian production (although one I liked)

I'm surprised he ranted like that. Maybe he's new to the forum scene or something and didn't realize that 95% of the people out there ignored the original comments in the first place.
