Which one you gonna get within the first few months of release? Or both?
I will pick both eventually, but for no good reason I'm most excited about getting the PSP sooner.

Im sorry dude but i am 100% on DS
Both, but I am more confident about the DS. I'm sorry, but the PSP sounds like a broken system waiting to happen
I'm very interested in a DS....PSP is something I'll pick up when they're cheap IF there's a library I like.
scooterb: "I once shot a man in Catan, just to watch him die."
Definetly the DS. And, when the PSP fails miserably, I will maybe pick up a copy.
I'm going to be picking up the DS. I might concider getting a PSP if it is dirt cheap.... but that would be the only way.

im totally getting the DS, sony will have to have some very good games come out that appeal to me for me to buy one.
BLAST AWAY AND GO GO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With the PSP looking to be set at an astro nomical pirce, I'll really hold off on that one.
The DS I'll pick up with in a year of its release.
I'll be getting a DS at launch. As far as the PSP goes, I'm definitely going to wait until it drops in price.
Yow...what's this, 100% pro-DS commentary? 14 to 2?
Well, we haven't seen a definite price tag yet, so I'd say that's selling it short.
The DS has specs which look and sound great, but the games...hmm...a rehash of Super Mario 64, and Metroid: Hunters, plus others.
I dunno...right now I'll be brutally honest; I'm happy with my old systems, and when you say "portable of choice" I say "Nomad."
I'll be waiting a while before I pick one of these up. I'd say getting a Virtual Boy is higher on my list of priorities, in fact, as would be a Timetop Gameking (Chip8-ish and all).
My reasoning is simple: Do I play games in public? No. Do I know how these games will play? Nope. What I can be certain I'll enjoy stays on the older systems, and I've got a HUGE backlog that'll take me years to clear. I don't doubt there's great fun to be had with the DS and PSP, but it can wait for the time being.
the so called "rehash" of mario 64 will rock on (wireless)multiplayerOriginally Posted by Ed Oscuro

it looks almost like the cube-version and I guess that controlling it with stylus is truely innovative.
anyway....

Nanostray (2D shmup)
Bomberman DS
ANimal Crossing DS
Castlevania
Final Fantasy

Indeed, there's nothing wrong with the two I mentioned, but as I wrote I'm not much of a portables gamer. I like my portables as much as the next person, but this comes down to a money issue - with stuff I'm looking at holding my interest, the DS's "Same Game" (to reference part of one of the items I'm working on getting...anybody guess what that is? Get a cookie!) feel isn't capturing my interest quite yet. I'm sure it'll be worth a look later, but I'm still working on fleshing out my real Nintendo 64 collection.
As for that Castlevania, it looks to be a slightly altered version of Aria of Sorrow. Can't really comment on the rest for the DS, except to say that the games do dog near ban Sony to another dimension with their goodness...or something. Same goes for Sony, except with Sony I feel even more ambivalent and unsure what's going on there. You have to get around clumps of price-point and battery lifetime arguments, after all, which seems to be all anybody will talk about in relation to that system!
The DS is going to be the first console I get at its initial release.![]()
Im soooo stoked! I cant wait to blow my money on Nintendo's latest-and-greatest portable.

Here we are again. Sony trying to create the be-all-end-all of portable entertainment while Nintendo focuses on a few good games. You'd think Sony would have learned something from tamagatchi
im rather worried bout the ds`s battery capabilitiy 2 screens = /
U GAIZ JUST DONT LIKE CHANGE , (builds a artificial foundation here)
I'd be rather more worried bout psps battery life since I've seen many "facts" where it says 2-3hours playtime. That's why sony also releases this stupid "Extra-batterypack" which should be worn on your wrist.Originally Posted by Richter Belmount

At this point I'm saying "neither". The PSP doesn't seem like it will appeal to me and the DS just seems to be receiving slightly updated versions of N64/Cube games.
I normally would not even worry about cost of an item or items.
But the PSP is priced though the roof. And with dropping 1000 dollars on new goalie leg pads here this next week I dont want to buy a system I wont be able to buy games for.![]()
Of course I am buying a DS because its Nintendo :P

You will not be forgotten.
Considering the previous history of Sony's hardware reliability and the price tag of the PSP I think it is too big of a risk to buy one soon. Maybe in three or four years after some hardware revisions.
The DS appears to have an interesting line of games. Probably I'll spend my money there.
