In my own words: "Clunky and Ugly".

Are you kidding me? That is one of my most favorite Genesis games ever. Sure, it is way too easy but besides that it is very fun. The best flight sim/arcade hybrid ever on a console in my opinion (though I've never tried that XBox one I've heard good things about). No one else likes this game? I find that hard to believe.

I like this game. I was very impressed by it when it first came out--it made the Genesis seem like it was more capable of competing with the SNES's mode 7 than any other game I had seen at that time.
I made a comment about this last night on my Truxton thread, but the game over sequence used to give me nightmares...now I see the humor in it, but when I was 12 it was disturbing.
But I like the game, overall. It has a good sense of humor, and I really dig the "waypoint" system that divides the levels into little discrete chunks.
The sequel, LHX atttack chopper, sucked. I was so excited for that to come out, and when I finally got it I realized the game sucked and it gave me a headache to play it. It was way too slow-paced, and the lack of music didn't help.

The first time I saw an ad for this game was in the back cover of the EGMS Guide for 1992. The pics looked very cool....but when i saw the game in real life...well..it looked kinda slow so i didnt buy it...!
I have this game burried in the garage. Its complete...haha...never played it yet.
I no longer have the game but I remember being quite impressed by it. Not that the graphics were anything special but it the game had a quality feel to it that was missing from other Genny carts.
EA was the best thing that ever happened to the Genny. Not just for the sports games but a lot of the stuff they brought over was top notch, quirky fun like Starflight, Rings of Power, Buck Rogers.
Amen.....too bad that they dont take any risks nowadays, and still keep milking the madden cash-cowOriginally Posted by davec
You know, to be honest with you, I don't think they even took any real risks during the Genesis era either. All they did was port over Amiga and PC games that were successful. True, they were all great games, and translated VERY well to the Genesis (Starflight, the Immortal, all that stuff.)Amen.....too bad that they dont take any risks nowadays, and still keep milking the madden cash-cow
Outside of their first slew of C64 and PC games, the only risk they really took was on 3DO...and we all know how that ended.
i got this ages ago.. never played it thou... im not a fan of flying games really except PropCycle and Pilotwings

I had no idea LHX was F-22's sequel. Anyhow, I used to play this alot when I was younger, as did my stepfather. I like dsome the ace battles, especially the American ace saying how after he kills you he's going to dance on your grave and take your girlfriend out.

One thing that was cool about LHX was that you can shoot camels. They explode like a freakin' oil truck, too.
Interesting that the game was made in 1991 about a fighter that still has not entered service 13yrs later. I don't see any significant changes in the airframe from the box art pics either. Kinda amazing. I work in aerospace and we make sub-systems for the F-22.
well seeing as we are discussin it, i managed to get hold of another one today, so if anyone is dying to try it let me know and i can help you out :P
by "help out" i dont mean "give away"

LHX for the PC is really cool, by the by. The only flaw I can really find in it is that single-story buildings tend to be 100 feet tall, a common complaint for PC sims of that era.
