I paid $80 after shipping for the Ayanami Evangelion game[DC]. I'm not a big spender for single games, but I like to buy lots of them. =)

I buy games new every once in awhile when I want them bad.
I have paid 60-70 for new n64 games when they came out.
other than that, around 50 for some new next gens.
$130 for Radiant Silvergun and $110 for PCE Dracula X. Cliche.
I have definitely gotten my money's worth though. ZERO regrets.
I recently more than doubled my previous most expensive game by paying £100 (~$185) for Les Schtoumpfs Autour du Monde (Master System).
around $80 for a sealed copy of Faxanadu for the NES ( I was willing to spend a couple of hundred to get it !!! )
Check out HitpointZ.com to see all my items for sale!
$100.00 for a complete Panzer Dragoon Saga and $78 for a complete SNES Metal Warriors and $67.50 for Space Channel 5 Part 2 (not LE) to give to my daughter for x-mas . Those are my biggest purchases outside of the occassional $50 new game purchase.
I paid $150 US for a sealed Caltron 6 in 1 a long time ago. I also paid about the same amount for a big-box Gyromite that was bundled with a boxed ROB. Then, before I even got it in the mail, I found a big-box Gyromite in the wild like 2 days later! I sold the extra one though. I also paid $55 US for a sealed Cheetahmen II like 4 years ago. Other than that, I think most of my stuff has been below the $50 mark.
"And remember ladies: if it ain't tight, it ain't right!"
$30 for a used and complete copy of The Sims for PS2, a few months after it came out. I was addicted to the game for about a month and a half. I see used copies going for $10 all the time now, and I still don't regret paying that much.
I'll probably break the record when GTA: San Andreas comes out, though.
Highest I've every proxy bidded is 260 for a Earthbound Poster (impossible to find, believe me).
Well, I've paid a lot for some games and hardware in recent years, but relative to my income at the time, the most I paid was $90 for DOOM for the SNES back when it was new. That was waaaay too much, haha.
I most I spent was 100 dollars for panzer dragoon saga on ebay. The second most will be Growlanser: generations deluxe pack - 90 dollars (if it ever comes out )
$89 for a brand new virtual boy space invaders
runner up is $80 for a complete 2600 halloween
The most I ever payed for a game was $60 for a brand new Super Mario RPG for the SNES shortly after it came out.
Wow, I got RPG Maker 2 three days after it came out and I only payed $39.99 for it.I paid $81 for RPG maker 2 new is the most i paid for a game.
$75 for a mint Shining Force III: Scenario 2
$67 shipped for this beauty. i've been watching these on ebay for over a year, and i think i waited it out for the right auction. the manual is slightly water damaged, but the disk is FLAWLESS. looks brand new...

Nice Sonic LE....my friend Nez found the cd for 4 bucks then he put in a product request for shenmue limited edition at a nearby gamestore and the guy got in sonic LE and called him accidentally and he bought the case for 7 dollars, lol. Lucky bastard.
Anyhow....today I shall reach the highest I have ever paid for a game:
Buster Douglas - Sega Master System $90
Pretty damn high, but it will be mint, complete and I don't want to hunt it down.
Panzer Dragoon Saga paid 180 for it.
BUT! It also come with Gaudian Heros, D, Lunacy, Brain Dead 13, Ledgend of Oasis, Myst, Shining the Holy Arc and a Sega Saturn. Phew.
But I was mainly going for SAGA.

The most I've sunk down for one item is a tie: $50 for Namco Museum 4 for PS and 2600 Demolition Herby loose at 2001 CGE Auction.
The single largest chunk of change I've ever laid down was $300+ for 4-5 cases of various SW'ed Classic (pre-crash) games.
Lick me! LICK ME!!

Putting together a PAL Mega-CD site at http://www.sega-mega-cd-library.co.uk
not counting arcade cab/games, and some misc ebay bids
