These cartridges are dirty as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!
Shinobi wasn't, it came in a cartridge format. My Hero and Ghost House are the only two Card games that I can think of at the moment, but there were more.

i actually found my very first card game just this week, it was ghost house. i LOVE the small case it comes in, even if the holder part really doesn't fit the cartridge...
and finding this one made me wonder what other ones there were.... there must be some hardcore SMS nut who can give us a complete list

Great Soccer is probably the rarest SMS card, released in Germany, Italy & Australia. It's not the same game as the Great Soccer cart (aka World Soccer in Japan & Europe), but is a more basic game the same as the Japanese Great Soccer.
It's the only Western card game that wasn't also available in cartridge form.
There were also another few card games released only in Japan: Great Baseball, Satellite 7, Pit Pot (also released on the Astro Warrior/Pit Pot European 2-in-1), Comical Machine Gun Joe & Woody Pop. These are only playable on Japanese systems though.
So in answer, to the thread topic, then...Originally Posted by anagrama
Would Great Soccer be the only game available in card format only?
It seems to be listed as a cart in the DP guide.
Always looking for more SMS. And Resident Evil too.
Yup. The cart version listed in the guide is a diffferent game. The card version won't be listed in DPG7 because it wasn't released in the US.Originally Posted by sleepycal
Let me get this right - that means all the other Sega Card games were released on cartridge here or in Japan?
A few euro games came on card and not on cart...and vice versa. For example, Transbot is a cartridge in europe. I was the one who actually donated Great Soccer (card) to SMS power. From what I understand it was quite rare because it was a 128k card...if memory serves me correctly.Originally Posted by Ed Oscuro
