Out of this world
Toy Story, The Genesis version has much more reponsive and tighter controllers then the SNES version.
Sad to say, the 32x version of Mortal Kombat II STILL isn't as good as the SNES version. It has washed-out backgrounds, a shitty soundtrack, and it's missing little things that are smoothly intergrated in the SNES game.
SCOOBY DOO is two different games... the one for the SNES is dull and common, while the Genesis game is actually pretty good but hard to find.
Cheers
Thanks for indulging my gaming habit when I was young, Dad. You were the best. I miss you. ~David Barnes 1926-2007~
I agree. Add to that "Aladdin," which can't be compared either. Although the Genesis version is much better, IMO.Originally Posted by Atariguy
Did you mean "the Genesis six button pad shit all over the snes controller"? Because if that wasn't a typo...then you make no sense. I don't remember the arcade SF2 machines having fierce and roundhouse buttons located on top of the machine. Maybe it was a local thing, but our SF2 machines had two rows of horizontal buttons--three punches over three kicks. In fact, it's basically exact same layout the Sega 6-button controller used! I laugh when I think of the the Super Advantage ad where they redesigned a SF2 control panel to resemble the layout of the Super Advantage, so that they could claim that the Super Advantage had the same layout as arcade SF2! It's god damned ridiculous! I think I have an scan somewhere. Let me find it...
Oh, and the Sega 6 button had a far superior d-pad as well. And something about "ergonomics", or something..? Can't remember the word..
Found it:

Tee hee!
Let's try this again, since I can't edit and fix the img tag
Guffaw! Chortle! Snicker!
One final note to everyone in the universe who has ever fucked this up:
THERE IS NO SF2 "CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION"
THERE IS ONLY "CHAMPION EDITION"
ALSO, "NUCLEAR" IS NOT PRONOUNCED "NUCULAR"
AND "ATM MACHINE" IS REDUNDANT
THANK YOU.

Well, the SNES controller has those nifty, handy-dandy shoulder buttons. Had the Genesis controller included them there would be no discussion here, period :)

We had "mode".
I think it got used about as often as the superfluous shoulder buttons ever did (prior to SF2, of course).
"Look! I can shift the map left and right! Thank you Nintendo!"
Shoulder buttons were useful for F-Zero (and other third person games; I can think of at least one Super Famicom game that was really pretty horrible but used it...FPS games as well). If only your characters were more spry in Run Saber, I'd say there as well
Mode, though... :/
Shoulder buttons would've been awesome for Forgotten Worlds, though.
Oh, and don't forget Contra III's rather odd top-down level!
Oh, okay. Fine. Be all fair-minded about it and everything.
Black is a much cooler color than gray, especially because it doesn't go brown, don't you think? I'm playing a GAMES CONSOLE, not a freaking PCjr! I want stuff to be stylish like my VCR.
Genny, They just have more of a retro feel and look to them
I liked Earthworm Jim 1 & 2 better on Genesis, it just feels...right
Yes, they definately were completely different games. I got the snes version back in the year it was released, and didn't get the genesis version until this year! Got it brand new for 15 of ebay.Originally Posted by Evan
I would have to say I still like the snes version better.
The boss battle on the Genesis version sucked in comparison though.
