All portable systems are region free AFAIK. The Virtual Boy is definitely region free.

Yup, all VB games play on all systems. However, keep in mind that Japanese games are in, well, Japanese. Not a big deal with something like V-Tetris (only released in Japan), but rather confusing in other games that have a degree of text to them, like Baseball. ("Was that a strike or a ball? What inning is it? What's the name of my friggin' TEAM?!?!")

For some reason, I have the Japanese versions of Panic Bomber and Galactic Pinball. I got them long ago, but I can't remember how. Hey, I have them!

Yes and just think, for $300 you can actually play Space Invaders on your VB!

    NTSC Virtual Boy set
Congrats on getting your VB hooked to a TV!

I wonder why the Japanese one wouldn't, since their TVs are NTSC too.
