The N64 version is by far the better version, although the PSX Dual Shock rerelease EX Mode is cool. On the N64 version the entire game is on one cart no annoying disk swapping is needed, you can save much faster right onto the cart no need for an annoyingly slow memory card, the game has a whole bunch of cool features that no other version has including the somewhat barebones GCN rerelease(PSX port, the cheap stupid bastards at Capcom, RE 2 was the most popular one!) the graphics do look a little washed from time to time but to be honest the PSX version always looked a little pixleized and overdrawn. The game runs in high resolution mode when run with the expansion pack which isn't needed to play and it still looks better without it. Contrary to popular belief the game is copmplete and has all the prerendered effects and video that the PSX version has and all the sound although I'm not 100% sure about that as Ghouls 'N Ghosts mentioned earlier. I didn't think you could pull off a complete game with cinematics and everything on an affortable N64 cart but Capcom did it. The fact that this was done at all at an affortable cost is simply amazing and is one of the greatest achievements in video gaming history.
The best version of RE 2 even though I don't like to admit it as the PC and Dreamcast versions should be the best is the Gamecube version of the game because it looks the best in that version with the true high resolution graphics, it has fast saving and loading, the improved sound and the fact that its on one disc which can't be said about any of the other versions except the N64 version even though Capcom should have remade it as it would have sold very well and the Gamecube rerelease was way too expensive for what it is.Originally Posted by scorch56
