First Videos of Soul Calibur 3...the new three characters unvealed
What's odd...is why would they make a move like that? the PS2 version of SC2 was the least favorite...
These cartridges are dirty as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!
Simple. Sony flashed some green.
Is anyone else incredibly disappointed that Soul Calibur III won't be playable online? I always assumed that online play would be included if a new SC came out. It just doesn't make sense *not* to have it for a game like this. Same goes for Tekken 5. Is it just a Namco thing, or is Sony starting to abandon online support for the PS2?
After my dissapointment by SC2 I don't care if they ever make another SC game again. Soul Calubur 2 was just a fluke for Namco. The crap that is Tekken was starting to show its self in SC2, and now that SC3 will be PS2 exclusive, I am sure that it will be 100% as terrible as Tekken has always been.Originally Posted by norkusa

Hate the fact that it is PS2 Only. God dam that sucks. And did anybody read the Gamepro preview of the game where they said that Soul Calibur 2 was a horrible game. I'm sorry but i thought it was one of the best fighters in a long time.

I guess Sony is now copying EA's buisness ethics. "If you can't beat them, buy them"
Fine with me this game looks great.
Im sure it will appear on other consoles also maybe XBOX2 or Revolution?
Well... it does suck that Sony became bastards and apparently reserved the licensing rights strictly for themselves. Wouldn't be the first time. Heh... I mean, out of all three versions of SC2, I got the Gamecube one myself, as I'm probably in the minority here, but I thought the controller had the best scheme for it. That and Link.
Well... at least it's coming out to home consoles at all, so if it just comes out on the PS2, I won't be too raw about it. It's shaping up to be awesome, but I hope that it doesn't come off as just an extension to SC2. I want differences out the bunghole, dammit! And I want Voldo to return! He'd better be in there... *shakes fist menacingly*

To me, Soul Calibur 2 was not really a "serious" fighter, which is fine by me. It was the kind of game that I would bust out when my little cousins or nephews were over, and they would have a ball (and have a decent chance of beating me!).
Personally, sometimes I can't take the complexity of Virtual Fighter 4, etc... so I just get a kid's game like this.

That's a bummer, Sony's so money hungry, and I totally agree with the can't beat em' so buy em'. I hope Nintendo fights back and releases something real for a change. They release great games just not enough of em steadily to beat sony. Darn shame if you ask me.
If they made a movie out of your top five worst sins, what would it be rated?

Which is very interesting, because when SC2 was released, they gave it a big 5 out of 5 score.Originally Posted by stevec1636

I know, it is there 200th issue that i just read and there review for Soul Calibur 2 is in it. then they say the game sucked. I wonder if somebody previews the magazine at all before it's printed. Dumb Asses.Originally Posted by joshnickerson

The disappointment about SC2 was that it was the same game as its predecessor. The great thing about the Sega-Namco rivalry is how their competition inspires one another; there's a great back-and-forth. Sega obviously learned from Soul Calibur, and they took those lessons to VF4, raising the bar again. When it was time for Namco to follow suit, what did they do? Recycle the same game.
Still, I'm sure it'll have fans with the more casual fighting game fans that have been discardeed long ago. These games have become so complex and complicated that you need to devote years of study to become skilled. I love the VF series, but you practically need to devote two years to seriously understand the thing now. Forget about playing against someone's who's a veteran.
Fighters need to regain that immediacy, and some serious innovation.

Yes, that does suck that it's only PS2. But I am sure it will also go over to xbox and GC eventually. IT BETTER. The Soul Calibur series is by far my fav. fighting series to date!
