$ony, on & off - Sony originally had ENOS, a polygonal head of a spokesmodel, but the company ditched him/her/it in no time flat. Crash Bandicoot used to be $ony's answer to Mario & Sonic before being 'sold out.' The closest thing that $ony had to Crash for awhile was Spiro, and even that character is no longer a $ony exclusive. How long will it be until pseudo-mascots Jak & Daxter get sold out as well?

Micro$oft - Halo's Master Chief was never promoted as a company mascot.

Was the alligator private detective (alligator in trenchcoat and fedora) an actual mascot for the FM Towns Marty? Or is that just a character Gamefan decided to put in the Marty section each month?

Good question. I have no idea, as I'm not very familiar with the FM Towns system nor its games.

Oh, and Neo Geo had their snarling, rabid bulldog mascot. You used to be able to get shirts, buttons, and bumper stickers with it on there.

That's true; I forgot about that one (probably becasue he/she isn't featured in a Neo Geo game... to the best of my knowledge, anyway).

A lot of people probably thought that Laura Croft (Tomb Raider) was $ony's mascot. Thing is, Tomb Raider is not a $ony franchise, so Croft would be more like a second-party tie in than an official company mascot (Kinda like what Rare's Battletoads were to Nintendo at one point). Also, Tomb Raider started out on the Saturn before being ported to the Playstation.

The Neo Geo had some creepy clown guy very early on. I can't remember his name at the moment. BTW, I always assumed Terry Bogard and Haohmaru were SNK's mascots.

I could have sworn that bulldog was in one of the Fatal Fury games......where you chose something in some menu (like who you wanted to fight next or something like that) and when you pressed a button to confirm it, your bulldog head would launch into a angry barking animation. Memory is fuzzy here......

Are you sure you weren't stoned when playing that particular game? Just kidding there, although the experience you mentioned does sound sorta trippy in a bizarre, malacious sense.

The bulldog is in several games in the starting menu. He is in Fatal Fury II and Special, those are the only two i have that he is in.
