And if so, what do you think?
Don't tell me about the PC version, I've already got it on the cheap... I just spend more time by my TV so I'll get much more use out of this version and have been patiently waiting!

Since I bought the DVD version of the PC game when it came out, and love it to death, I'm also very curious to know how the XBox version is, and how it compares to the PC version. IMHO console games that started out as PC games don't get ported that well. (Where as console to PC seems to be even better).

I guess it goes without say, but does this new Pirates strictly improve upon the original, or are there some aspects of the game that are not as good as the original, such as open-endedness, ability to marry, etc.
Everything about the new Pirates! is better. Just punch up a review of the PC version.Originally Posted by Jagasian

Link to Xbox Pirates game info Please...I'd like to pick something new up this week...
Nope. No flow as of now. Also unfortunately right now i'm kind of acquiring some greatest hits titles for less $$$. I hope to get it eventually though.
With a humble heart, on bended knee...
Gamespot has a review here. They changed a few things and added a multiplayer component.
I'll definitely be getting it soon.
I haven't played Pirates on the PC, but it is an absolute blast on the Xbox. I have had the game crash once though, during one of the dancing sequences. The game runs very, very choppily during dancing but otherwise runs smoothly.
This post is over, gotta get back to raiding French ships...

It's pretty sweet, my friend picked it up and we played it for about 3 hours last night.
It takes freakin forever to go anywhere East, though.
Check out the Kleppings!

Yeah, my only complaints are that it takes forever to sail against the wind (realistic, sure, but doesn't really fit the fast and loose gameplay) and the choppy dancing sequences. If you advance to one of the higher difficulty levels, the game stops showing the button cues for dancing, so you have to rely on your partner's arm movements...but the game is so jerky that it makes doing so almost impossible!

On a side note..
10 PM I sit down to check out the latest issue of Official XBox Magazine's demo(PIRATES) and it doesn't work...It won't work on either of my Xboxes..Damn it,not again!!! !!..I have the worst luck with Xbox demos..and the OPMs too.
I cleaned it and tried it a dozen times,nothing..It's like there is nothing on the disc..(message=dirty or damaged disc)
Notifying whatever it is in the mags for a replacement disc provides nothing as they never send me anything...
I bought this one with OPM.. that I haven't tried yet..at Target..The first OXM copy I picked up after looking at it better the DVD case was crushed..looked like someone sat on it....I went and got a perfect copy off the rack.
Perfect condition mag with non working disc go figure,my luck..I bet the crushed one worked.
One the was home from work my wife stopped at a 7-11 and picked me up another copy of OXM...
I popped it in and it came right on...no problem,it works flawlessly..Happy me with a great wife..
........but now I have to return this non working mag to Target tomorrow(I keep receipts)......A waste of time....
Not Targets fault, but the suck magazines itself..
I played the Darkwatch demo and Pirates two played ship demo with my Son....
Updade..I was hoping the demo had more of Pirates to play, just a "two player must" Ship combat demo. :/
I like this though, reminds me of another Pirates game on the Xbox..

Target: doesn't refund magazines..they only exchange for the same one..
What's the price on this Pirates game..And deals anywhere for it..?
So far I've only seen it for $39.99. No deals that I'm aware of.Originally Posted by Videogamerdaryll
Still haven't bought it... but I did pick up the NES version. I figure once I buy the XboX game I may as well well have all the console pirates. (:
This is one of the three Xbox games I plan to buy within the next month, the other two being Fable and Jade Empire, I'm still unsure as to which one I'm going to get first though.
Hold off on Fable, as the forthcoming $20 greatest-hits re-release has loads of added content.Originally Posted by slip81
