Shinobi's cool and all, but Ryu just has the upper-hand in charisma alone.
The fact that I've been playiing XBox Ninja Gaiden like crazy recently means that I have to vote for Ryu.

I'm going with Ryu on this one. He's got more personality than Joe, which coud be a detriment in battle. If one's emotions is to interfere in the heat of battle, it will not be easy to focus on the fight... yeah, fucdat. Ryu's got Phantom Doubles. CASE CLOSED!
