I need to know what the size of the largest N64 cartridge ever released? (in terms of MB).
I'm also assuming this would be the largest cartridge ever released for any home console as well. Not counting any pirates, homebrews, or flash cartidges.

No sweat. It was Ogre Battle 64. Never mind mb...it was also the heaviest physically as well!! I don't have the info as to how many megs it was....but it was the largest.

So Ogre Battle is wrong, and one of these are the largest?Originally Posted by roushimsx
Does anybody have a reference stating this to be a fact? I ask because I need a source I can document and cite.
I've been searching, but have been unsuccessful.
I'm going by the verified good rom dumps:Originally Posted by Goblin
they could be off a little here or there for unused rom space...also I suck at multiplying by 8 (actually I used actual size instead of size on disk).
Tangent: The video quality in Resident Evil 2 was much nicer but late in development they wound up being 1MB over and had to reencode all of the video
The pokemon stadium 2 would make since it was released later in the systems life and had actually really good graphics.
Thanks, although I'm writing a technical paper and I can't really cite ROM dumps as an actual source.
It's one of those questions that I now have the answer to, I just need to cite it in the proper manner.

Yeah, the largest NeoGeo cart is KoF2003 @ 716Megs, but Goblin is on about N64 carts. Although it is an interesting 'fact of the day'.
I understand you don't want to start talking about ROM dumps in your paper, as they seem a bit dodgy. But it is physical evidence of what is on the cartridge.
716 megabytes or megabits?
