In the intrusively bothersome thing known as real life, my name is Todd and I'm working at a newspaper company in Dayton, Ohio. Aside from the requisite love of gaming, my hobbies include reading, hiking, and animation.
For much of my childhood, my experiences with video games were limited to arcades and the houses of friends, but my parents eventually capitulated and bought a Nintendo Entertainment System for their spastic yet insistent son. My interest in gaming then grew to the point where I now find myself the owner of my still-functional NES as well as a Sega Genesis, Sega Master System, Dreamcast, Saturn, PlayStation, Super NES, GameBoy, Neo-Geo Pocket Color, Sega CD, Nintendo64, PlayStation 2, GameBoy Advance, Virtual Boy, and a TurboGrafx-16 that I nicknamed “Pukey.” Don’t ask.
Though I try to play a bit of everything, my favorite games tend to be Japan-bred console RPGs like Chrono Trigger, Popful Mail, Xenogears, Emerald Dragon, Valkyrie Profile, Vagrant Story, Secret of Mana, and Final Fantasy Tactics. Also plentiful in my collection are shooters, puzzle games, platformers, and members of the highly inclusive “action adventure” genre.
I stumbled across Digital Press while poking around the Tips and Tricks webpage, and I’ve visited these boards on a near-daily basis ever since.

Hi Everyone, name is John but you can call me JZ (or JZ456games). I love talking and learning about all retro video games. I am a serious collector that plays their games

I am not partial to one console over another, I love them all. I am on a Nintendo (NES & N64 specifically) and Sega kick these days, so I will be posting WTB on them. In my real life, I am a project manager and would love to take part on some of these Go-Fund Me unofficial-official ROM prototype projects. I am a very laid back and open person; so don't be a stranger.

Thank you all for letting me be a part of this great community.

Hello everyone! My name is Tom and I am from CT. I am an avid retrogame collector. I probably should have joined this years ago. Nice to meet everyone.

    Hey everyone,
This is more of a reintroduction than anything. I've been away from the boards for a long time. I used to idle in the irc room moreso than post here, though. Although I haven't been to the site in a long time, I go to the store in Clifton every once in a while.

I'm getting ready to try to beat all 715 licensed NES games. I decided that I want to do the 715 game challenge on my original NES from when I was a kid, so I'm gonna be giving it some love and installing an NESRGB in it soon. I'll probably make a video about the refurbishment process. I plan to do a few upgrades while I'm in there.

Nice to be back, hope to get involved in some threads soon!

I’m putting a multi out port on mine. The same kind used on the snes and n64, so cables are easy to come by, fortunately.

    Hi.

    Sorry I'm late.

I'm a fairly ordinary chap in his 40s who started gaming way back in the 80s. I think my first ever gaming experience was at around the age of seven; either some kind of very simple horse racing game on my friend's dad's Sinclair ZX80, or possibly on my Nintendo Game & Watch (Donkey Kong II). I'm not sure which came first tbh.

As I grew up, I was lucky enough to own a ZX Spectrum, for which Jet Set Willy II was by far my favourite game. Later on I had an Amiga (still have my original Shadow Of The Beast t-shirt!), a GameBoy, and then a PC.

From my mid-20s on, I had a big break from gaming, and even (I am ashamed to admit) went through a period of looking down on gamers as basically wasting their time on something that didn't improve their lives at all. These days I once again recognise the joy and passion that gaming can bring, and I would never dream of disparaging a fellow gamer. It was when I was in my early 30s that a friend persuaded me to download the free demo version of Battlefield 2142 that I got back into gaming. I ended up buying the full version, and then poured my heart and soul into that game. When EA killed the servers for multiplayer, I felt a huge sadness.

I currently live in Poland of all places, where I came because of a Polish girl.

I think I found these forums by googling for a game-related question to do with SNES multi-tap games.

My favourite game of all time is Tetris, which I have on the NES, GameBoy, Amiga emulator, and SNES. I suppose Dungeon Master for the Amiga would be a very close second though.

I don't really "collect" for any system, but I do own a Japanese and a European SNES, and also an NTSC and PAL NES, and I am slowly accumulating some cool titles for those.

In real life I work as a voice artist, doing voiceovers for video stuff, and also reading audiobooks. I can edit my own recordings too, so feel free to hit me up if you need a British voice with received pronunciation for a project.

I guess I will come back and edit this if I think of any "interesting facts" about myself that I have left out, and which might be worth talking about here. Thanks for having me!

Just letting you know I speak in a language where I have to write everything out, in big paragraphs, sentences, and so forth. You think it is funny I am sorry.

I do not like conforming, but too many of people who are into the stuff I enjoy end up doing so for a variety of reasons. Like how somebody talks to you like a robot and you know where that is from.

    - Who you are

I enjoy videogames and made it my life. Then I woke up and found out their is a skill I could do outside of that via my surroundings. Then I discovered that a bunch of people would rather be lazy and have pensions...oh for shame.

    - Where you live

Patient Zero does not live too far from me. Funny thing is that I do not have the shot and feel great.

    - How you found the forums

Already knew about it from time to time I would run into via the searching. Remember that time when DP physical store had a car almost go through it?

    - What your favorite games are

Anything animated. I would have to say that "Street Fighter v. X-men" would possible be the apex after which games stopped being amazing for me. Yes tons of other titles, and yes while their are many games in 2.5d that have shown to bypass the limitations ( like Kirby:Return to Dreamland v. Kirby and Crystal Shards ) I really do enjoy 2d games. In fact I prefer if all games was vector graphics as with flash. Too bad I am too lazy to become a flash programmer, in the case of "Super Smash Flash 2" ( with online play ) .

    - What systems you collect for

I am not going to say because the last thing I need is another person driving prices up based on my likes. I do not pay DLC ( if anybody is interested locally ), and again I do not believe in DLC. We can bypass DLC just like making Wii with Smash Brothers.

    - What you do in "real life"

I am just a student working towards my goal of making fictional joy. I studied/worked in various visual arts, theater, and some programming. I did tons of jobs unrelated to what I move towards because that silent voice of doubt instead of hearing "Don't give up" or "You can do it"

    - Any other interesting facts, like how you

I honestly do not care anymore. I enjoyed video-games no different then the last person. I feel that videogames ( Including comics, animation, flash ) people have been discriminated, and then when we get to the real world with Religion, Race, and Cultures I even feel more discouraged, and even further more income. It is insanity. I wish I could just accept stupidity and be one of the button pressing rat racers of the world. Then again I would probably not be able to live with myself. Are videogames an escape? Did you drive into a stop sign after playing GTA too long, or did you realize everything outside looks like Fallout 3-NV-4-76 ?

    Thank you for reading

Greetings from Poland. I'm a hard core retro fan for about 10 years. My first games consoles where soviet clones of game and watch and first serious games machine was Commodore 64 (and it is still my favorite). I love all retro hardware especially older them me (not many of those unfortunately - but also one of my favorite Atari 2600 is among them). Of course I play also on a little bit newer systems like SNES, Amiga, SMD ...
Fun fact, my first console was PS3, as for years after C64 I was PC only user. But my second console was A2600 and retro craze started .
With my friends we founded quite popular retro games initiative visiting number of fantasy & gaming events in Poland with our retro zone and conducting YT channel. Finally in 2017 we formed permanent museum in Wroclaw / Poland.
I've join this group especially do discuss some systems less popular in Poland, like my recent favorite PC Engine. Looking forward for interesting discussions .
