I just downloaded this as shareware, and wasn't aware that it was ever released outside of the arcades. I believe you will need Dosbox to get it working properly.

Er, "shareware" ? Are you sure you know what that means?
As I recall, the PC port is rather limited compared to the arcade; there aren't any combo moves.
Wasn't there a TG16 port, too?

Whoops, sorry! It was abandonware on a filesharing program.Originally Posted by Jorpho

Impressive! (Cutscene-wise, at least.)Originally Posted by KJN

There is a DOS version, which sucks (even NES games of that same era featured better beat-em up action, like Double Dragon). Never tried the C64 version, but it looks substantially better than the DOS port.
hmm, i had the dos version back in the day, and i remember it being good. at least as good as the arcade, and a really close port. maybe i'm crazy though, obviously mame is the way to go nowadays.
stick with MAME.

So am I wrong about the TG-16 (or PC Engine) port?

To the best of my knowledge, yes.Originally Posted by Jorpho

Why on earth didn't this game come to SNES, dammit!!!
Mame is the way to go, can't wait to play it on my new mame cab 4 player!!!

Man, I haven't seen 1 of those old things in the arcades for more than a good decade [I believe it was 1993 or 1994 when I saw it]. Still remember it though and haven't seen a single machine since.
And no, I never even know DOS had 1.

I'm interested in knowing what you meant by "considering the hardware". The C64 was the best game playing computer of its time.Originally Posted by pragmatic insanester

I concur that the port wasn't bad at all. Very close to the arcade. I downloaded this from a pirate bbs and played it to death at least 11 or so years ago during my more dubious.
days.
For all the people asking why there was no SNES port. The answer is Licensing. Konami made the Arcade game and Acclaim owned the console rights. I guess the two couldn't work it out.
Bacon, Bacon, Bacon, IT'S BACON!!!!
Glancing at that list, I don't see a single exclusive.Originally Posted by pragmatic insanester
The C64 - for a number of years after it came out - sure beat DOS machines, but by the time a lot of those came out the Amiga and Atari ST had it beat, no problems. Still an awesome machine, though.
