I stole 198 sirens from a Searcher with Edge. Figured that'd be enough to get 10 or so pink tails, so I tried fighting Flan Princesses through about 20 sirens. After 20 battles with those pink things and nothing to show for it, I got bored and decided my party was strong enough without the adamant armor. But you say you had to use 271 sirens just to get ONE?!?! UGH! Thank you for posting this.... it's just convinced me that I shouldn't waste my time.

But to answer your question... no... I've never gotten a pink tail before... in ANY version of FFIV.
