I haven't played the PS1 version but I do have the PC version. It's a Diablo clone and pretty well done, so if you like the hack and slash gameplay of Diablo, you'll probably find it at least worth trying out.
Here's some more information (no PS1 screenshots, but you can see the PC version screens to get an idea):

I'm not sure how it plays on the PC, but I thought the playstation controls were akward at best. Probably not the best conversion. But as per any game you really ought to try it yourself instead of letting us dictate what you should do. Especially if you already own the game.
The guide shows its scarcity. It's an R1. For a late release game, they produced it enmasse or so it would seem. Its one of the few new PS games I still see on the shelves in stores. As for its play I couldn't answer that. I've not played my copy.
Darkstone Rarity info
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

I've never seen it in stores (though I likely missed it), and it's certainly not on shelves now here in my city.
That's PapaStu for the info. I didn't know it was only worth $2. I've seen it nearly everytime I've gone to a GameStop or EB Games but have stayed from buying it. Generally they want $4 for it but didn't know what to think with the info on the back. I also never looked into the game because it never came to mind, but since you say it's like Diablo I'll try and pick it up even for the $4 just to see what's up.
Thanks.

It was one of those budget releases. It cost something like 10 or 15 bucks brand new. I personally can't really get into it, but then, I'm don't care for PC-style games.
I'll leap in here with a positive recommendation then. For a late-in-the-system's-life, $10-brand-new release, I find it quite fun. If you like the over-the-head dungeon hack (Diablo, Balder's Gate, etc.), it's pretty good. I've played through mine twice. Yes, twice.
For $2, you can't go wrong.

i'll second that, and i actually liked the control layout, especially the quick keys mapped to the triggers, similar setup to ps2 hack/slashers.Originally Posted by Sniderman
