I decided to go flea market shopping today, ended up with almost nothing. For those of us in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, there's a flea market in Forest Hill (southeast Fort Worth) on the corner of Mansfield Highway and Shackleford Road. The bad thing about it? Nowhere to park. All the area is marked as tow-away zones and 'no parking' signs as far as the eye could see. I ended up not even getting out of my car. What was worse, the nearby barbecue place I wanted to stop at for lunch (voted #1 'Best Barbecue in the Dallas Area' by D Magazine is closed on Sundays, along with the Goodwill and their Computer Works stores a couple miles up the street. Dammit.
Went to the Treasure Island Flea Market in south Fort Worth, and found very few vendors there, but the few that did set up shop were all playing blaringly loud Mexican music, plus there was a live Mexican band with their amps turned up to 11, which makes me wonder why people who love shitty music need to play it as loud as possible, as if that will make it better. It seems to happen a lot, with all shit flavors/genres of music. I'd love to go to a barbecue place and not be beaten over the head with Country music.
All I bought today was Wabbit for the Atari 2600 from a Movie Trading Co. store. Sorry for the overly long description of essentially finding nothing, I wanted to vent a little.
