I reserved the ps3 of edf Armageddon at gamestop and have been enjoying this budget title. Just a shout out that thisgame might be uncommon in areas and is fun to play. Fans of the series will be pleased.

A friend bought it and doesn't understand why the 360 version doesn't include a manual.
The publisher did this on purpose.
I picked up a 360 copy yesterday. I made a comment about how light it felt when I pulled it out of the bag as I dropped it on the table.
I think i'm going to get back into EDF 1. I don't think i'll ever get 2017 completed on the hardest difficulties.

Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

I was a big fan of the last 360 EDF release, so I've been waiting for this. I usually buy from Amazon, but I had a bunch of Best Buy GC's to get rid of. When I got there the shelf had a big empty space where this game should be (shit). I asked if they had any more in back (they didn't). The guy laughed and said they sold all 4 copies within 15 minutes of opening the store. I guess it's back to Amazon.

My amazon preorder has shipped, hopefully I'll have it within the next couple days.
I 1000'd 2017 already, so obviously I'm looking forward to this. Of course it's worrisome that it's not Sandlot developed, but I do also like Vicious Circle's games for similar reasons, so I don't think I'll be dissapointed. But I pre-ordered either way, to support a favorite franchise of mine that doesn't get much love.
Picked it up for 360, but wanna finish 2017 first.
Will hopefully crack it open this weekend!
Here is the bad news ...Only 15 levels. I want to say that I am a huge fan of the series, but seriously this is really a disappoint to me. I know that EDFA has a decent online mode, but after finishing it on normal setting, and moving on to more difficult settings, I have to let others know that the actual game is fairly short...a growing trend in games these days that is bullshit.

Levels are decent in length(longer than the some on the first game). The level areas are more detailed than the first level, and there definitely is less fluff in this one. I still think the game is way too short. The difficulty on the harder settings is BRUTAL...which makes the game better I suppose.

Yeah it's only 15 levels, and it's short if you burn right through it. I played it over the weekend and tried to pace myself. The ending is just like, ok, i guess the game is over now.
However, beating the game once means nothing in EDF games, and that applies here too for sure. Beating the campign unlocks campaign remix, which introduces harder enemies sooner and so on. And of course there are extra difficulty modes too. EDF has always been about replaying beaten levels to increase your stats and find new weapons and that's definately the case here. I don't mind the 15 levels bit at all. I'm gonna guess there will be more via DLC anyway, with the ending being what it is.
So far I'm favoring the Tactical armor, as by the end of EDF 2017 machine gun + turrets was how I was playing anyway. Really like the new turret system, but I hope higher ranks will mean the costs will go down so I can have more than one gun out at a time. I think I'll do trooper or Jet next, but for now I'm doing campaign remix with Tactical and ranking up.
Overall, while it obviously feels different than 2017 / the PS2 games (but almost all in a good way), this is very much a worthy entry into the series even if it's not by Sandlot. I wonder if EDF4 is going to use this engine or not. I wouldn't be too surprised if it does.
