Classic stuff. A few people have already mentioned that the companies dire financial situation may be related to why there isn't a Wii version. Perhaps they simply couldn't finance it?
Remember that Midway did release the last Mortal Kombat game (Armageddon) on the Wii, and it got similar scores to this game. If that title didn't sell well on the Wii then that's one very significant factor that Mr. Finance Director and/or Mr. Bank Manager would been considering when asked to fund a Wii version of the current game.

The Wii clearly couldn't handle GTA IV. What is so special about MK vs. DC that the Wii couldn't handle it? Other than the fact that it's in HD, it doesn't look like anything that couldn't be done on Xbox.
Being short on resources isn't much of an excuse. It would've taken less resources to make this game for Wii to begin with.

To reiterate what others have said, who plays fighters on the PC? That sounds horrible in so many ways.
As for the Wii, it would take a lot to scale it down, and frankly, the cost would outweigh any financial game they got. Traditional fighters aren't for the Wii. They would require players to buy another piece of hardware to control them well (namely, the classic controller), which is a big turnoff. Playing with the remote would be a joke.

If people really hate buying those extra controllers for Wii, why is every videogame store/department overflowing with gimmicky Wii accessories? Why didn't Wii Fit tank?
The Wii classic controller is a better fighting pad than the DS3 or 360 pad.
Not that it really matters, since MKvsDC is a joke of a fighting game to begin with.
Your comments were the things that were ignorant and arrogant. The majority of my PS3 and 360 games aren't on the PC, so to say that they aren't worth owning if you have a high-end PC is both laughable and incorrect. The game would tank on Wii, anyway.
I often wonder why certain less tech dependent games that are 360/PS3 releases don't get a Wii release. Soul Calibur IV, SFIV and SF Turbo HD Remix (just scale it to 480p? what's the big deal?) among others. They would take a hit in the sparklies department but these games are completely realizable on the Wii hardware. With the classic controller, it's not as if the waggle stick is a huge obsticle. Does the classic controller have that poor of a sell through?
They released MK on the original Gameboy for Pete's sake. I know it comes down to internal decisions, but it doesn't make much sense to me.

I think it's pretty simple and it's already been eluded to multiple times in this thread -
This isn't about Midway "hating" Nintendo users or PC owners, this is about the fact Midway is financailly FUCKED.
These games probably went into development on PS3 and 360 dev kits LONG before the shit really hit the fan in the money department, and after the fact they couldn't very well allocate the resources to do scaled-down ports for the Wii or hardware scaleable versions for PC.
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
...Because it would defeat the purpose of the game. It would be SD Remix. I don't know why people think it's so easy to just make the graphics worse and do a quick Wii port for all the PS3/360 games that come out. The process is more complicated than that, and it often isn't worth it when you consider the sales of third party games on the Wii.
Just in the sake of fighting games. Why the hell would you release a game on either platform. PC's are pretty much FPS games, RTS/strat games or MMOs. There are probably 100's of franchises that probably could release games on the PC that just won't because of the way the market is for PC games. You can pretty much ask why isin't there a Mega Man game for the PC. There's just little money in it. Even Madden doesn't do well on PC. As for the Wii. Other than the hardware limitations. The controller has TWO freakin buttons! If they want to play the game with way it was ment to be played then Midway would have to count on everyone buying a $20 controller, which most people won't do. I highly doubt there are "massive sales potentials" and those sales potentials probably won't outweigh the production cost of having to retool the game for each platform. I think they wouldhave been better off on trying to make a version for th handheld systems thatn either the PC or Wii.

Mortal Kombat has never had enough depth to justify more than two buttons anyway, so I'm sure it could be made quite playable on the Wiimote by a competent developer.

You're flaming Midway for a problem that doesn't have anything to do with MK vs. DC Universe. Your problem is that most high-end console games are made for the 360 and/or PS3. And to that I say... well, tough shit. If you don't want a PS3, get a 360. If you don't get a 360, get a PS3. And if you don't want either, then don't bitch that none of the games are coming out for the Wii, because you made the choice to buy the underpowered console of this generation.
I'm going to play the world's smallest violin for Iron Dragoon right now. I'm crying tears because not every multiplatform game comes out for the Wii, and because fighters aren't for the PC.
If 360 and PS3 aren't good enough for you, that's your problem, not theirs. Get over yourself.
If you would have just asked politely why there was no Wii version, you would not have been banned. There was no need to put down the XBox 360 ("constantly malfunctions") or the PS3 ("cheap Blu-Ray player"). The final nail in the coffin was when you mentioned Midway's (the forum you were on no less!) money problems and quote "stupid decisions." That's just wrong. Critisizing is fine. Putting people down is just wrong.
As was said before, Mortal Kombat was previously ported to the original Game Boy of all platforms. Not to mention Game Gear and Sega Master System. Granted, those versions sucked, but if "it would suck" hasn't stopped them before (and Midway has a long history of shitty ports), why should it stop them now? Mortal Kombat Trilogy was even on the Game.com!
