It is a fun game. I found it tough on the Shinjuku Station level.

Haven't had much time to play lately, but I made a point to d/l these two titles.

Sin and Punishment is really pretty cool. It's a neat concept for a shooter. It's kind of "on the rails" like Panzer Dragoon or Space Harrier, but you're walking through the levels and you can strafe your character around the screen. You can also jump to avoid obstacles or grab bonuses.

The voice acting is deliciously awful--to the point where you're not sure what they're even talking about. The game description on the Wiistore talks about how the story gives the game its "soul". Dude, I can't understand a fucking thing that's going on. People just give my character guns and he/she (pretty androgynous) shoots stuff. That's all I can make of it.

In short, the music is awesome, the game totally has roots in stuff like Gunstar Heroes, and if the U.S. got more N64 titles like this one, I probably would have kept mine around after OoT came out.

Oh, and lost levels is indeed the Disk System game. The graphics of the original have been maintained, unlike that "Super Mario Brothers for Super Players" that's unlockable in the GBC Super Mario Deluxe, which was overhauled to look like the original SMB.

This is one of the best weeks the VC has had.

I have heard that there are some control issues. Main thing being not mapping the "c" button to the right analog stick on the classic controller. However, I am understanding that there are several control configurations so folks can find a style that is best for each individual. In the end the controls will be a bit different if not awkard to some one who has play the Nintendo 64 cartridge.

Like someone posted earlier in the thread, I changed the control to type 3 and haven't had any problems with it (I'm using the classic controller). I never played the N64 version, so YMMV.

You really need to tool around with the controls, and even then, whichever config. you choose takes a little getting used to. I use 'config. 1' with the GameCube controller which (as I remember):

    targets with the analog stick,
    shoots with L,
    jumps with R,
    strafes with X & Y,
    selects lock-on/manual with A

Never going to happen. I bet if we ever see those updated versions of these games, they will be split up. Why sell everything for 800 points when you're selling the NES originals for 2400 points in total.

They wouldn't separate them. They're far too lazy. That would require work to get the front ends working for each separate title, and it's most likely not cost-effective to do that. Look what they did with the Kid Icarus passwords. They just disabled the checksum for special codes instead of adapting them to the new hardware.

Anywho, I didn't think the Sin and Punishment controls were that wierd. I just used the default set up and I figured it out. Granted, strafing with x and y is a little wierd, but I figured out how to play Paperboy on that Midway's Arcade Treasures PS2 comp, so maybe I've just had more practice with awkward, impractical control schemes.

Quoted for emphasis. Make it happen Reggie Kick some ass if you have to.

That begs the question, "How much ass can Reggie kick?" 10m? 25m? or even 100m of ass?!?

Uh... what? I assume by "terrible looking", emphasis on the "looking", you've never even played the game and are passing biased judgment for no apparent reason at all.

Yeah, it's not a 16-bit classic; it's a 64-bit classic. Sin & Punishment for years has been the most popular N64 import in the Western world, and it is widely regarded as not only the best Japanese-exclusive but also one of the best N64 games ever created, period. The graphics are nothing short of amazing for the N64 hardware. You call 16-bit games easy to look at, but to the average modern gamer, they're just as painful on the eyes as any N64 game, if not more so. You need some perspective. Sure, Sin & Punishment can't come close to the graphics produced on the 360 or PS3, but the artistry of the design is excellent for any game of any era and I'm personally still impressed with what they pulled off with what they had. The game is exceptionally unique too, so I don't know how you're suggesting that it's generic or derivative or such.

The only legitimate issues it has, I'd say, are cheesy voice acting (which is understandable considering it was made solely for a Japanese audience that didn't know any better; I'm sure there have been plenty of cases where Japanese-voiced games have been released in America with sub-par acting and Americans either praised the acting or didn't know the difference) and its somewhat wonky controls (no, it's not just the Wii; it feels a little weird on N64 too), which is pretty typical of Treasure games (I think it's a result of them getting overambitious and trying create really unique control schemes regardless of how well they actually work).

There will be no tg-16 games released for Monday.

The games that will be released on Monday has been leaked on a video game news website. The thing is it was leaked by one gaming news website and that site is not exactly top of the list for being accurate due to its history.

It appears like the games are the following:

    Art Of Fighting
    Fatal Fury
    World Heroes.
