$6 total. Robot Chicken, Woodstock 2 Disc Anniversary Edition and Xavier: Renegade Angel are all brand new, but Xavier is missing the shrinkwrap.

$1 each. Just a bunch of randomly interesting looking albums...

Finally, it finally came. One day before one month since ordering, my copy of The History of Nintendo Volume 1 arrived from Pix'n Love Publishing...

This book is AWESOME. It's a visual encyclopedia of every product and venture Nintendo ever created from their inception up until 1980. It's been out in French for awhile and in English for a few months. More English versions of some of their other books are on the way, including the next book in this series which chronicles all the Game & Watch games in depth. Their book on Takahashi Meijin is also pending English release... and hopefully one day the book on Gunpei Yokoi.

In addition to the story of Nintendo and detailed pictures of all their products, it also contains detailed descriptions of everything. It even contains snaps of the TV advertisements for many items.

I really need to order a couple more copies of this as it would make a great gift.

Also for cataloging, a new animation cel...

Blizzar from episode 38 of Sailormoon. Nothing incredible, nice and cheap but one of my favorite MoTD's from the original series.

They're mittens. The snowmen that comprise her body change their expressions based upon what she's currently doing.

I won't argue with you there but not about her Codename is Sailor V / Sailormoon days. More so about how she became so bitter about how nothing else she ever created could match the popularity of Sailormoon, that she effectively quit licensing out the rights out of spite. Yeah, it has started to pick back up in Japan but that ship has sailed stateside. Have you seen how much official USA release (subtitled) Sailormoon DVD's go for and continue to appreciate at? Hell, I bought my Galaxian cocktail table with the $450.00 I got from selling my translated Sailormoon manga (the small book form, not the individual issues).

Okay, a couple weeks ago I saw a craigslist ad for 55 issues of Nintendo Power for $15.00. There wasn't a picture or any real specifics, only that they were older issues. The post date was pretty old but I figured what the hell and e-mailed the seller but never heard back. After a week I figured they already sold and forgot about it.

Then the seller contacted me and said he still had them and was checking if I was still interested. We set up a meeting earlier in the week for Saturday afternoon and earlier today I picked the magazines up.

I figure if anything I'm looking to fill the gaps in the issues I have. Over the years of reading some of my issues simply fell apart and degraded into trash, so I'm always looking for replacements. Additionally I would cut things out of them from time to time and of course attempt to remove the posters.

As for the issues I picked up today, the newest issue is #60, so they're all within the era I'm interested in. I would say condition varies from very good to on the way to the trash. Five or so of the issues are missing a lot of pages so those went into my girlfriend's scrapbooking pile. A handful of the earlier issues are missing their covers, which is common since many of my issues from around then suffer the same condition. Worst case of the issues I kept might be missing the first page and the last page, but that's like one or two issues. About half of the issues have maybe one or two things cut out of them, usually game titles from the listings near the back - I guess they were cut out to be glued onto a wishlist or something similar. All the classified information columns are in tact though, something I would cut out of a lot of my issues. A few posters were spared and pretty much all of the bundle in guides (merchandise catalog, SMB2 Inside Out, Dragon Warrior guide, Classified Information directory, etc.) are in place and perfect. There were a couple duplicate issues but they were in the junk pile, and a pair of the 4-Player Extra guide... isn't this like the most common NP issue ever?

All in all, I'd say I came away with 45+ issues that I need to catalog and compare with what I already have to see what I'm keeping. I don't think I'll replace any of mine, just keep the matching issues out of this lot as counterparts if they are in better shape.

What I was psyched to find among the lot are the first six issues, all in really nice condition and complete with the exception of a tiny title cutout here or there near the end of a couple of the later issues.

Woohoo, the first four of these are new additions since years ago my subscription began with the Ninja Gaiden issue. I really can't beat $15.00 for everything. That Track & Field II cover is still my all time favorite NP cover.

Really nice find InsaneDavid. I have a question for you too. How often do you reply to craigslist postings where the seller never bothers to contact you back? I've quickly learned to hate craigslist because 3 out of the 4 times I reply to a posting the seller never responds back, and the listing still sits there for weeks...
