Had a good day at the garage sales and resale shops on Friday. Picked up the following at various sales:

Gamecube system, 2 controllers, memory card, Metroid Prime - $35
Sealed copies of F-Zero & Pilotwings (SNES) - $6 for both
Colin McRae 04 (XBOX) - $2
WRC, Red Faction, Contra Shattered Soldier (PS2), Super Mario Sunshine (GC) - $19 total

The sealed SNES games were a real surprise, and they look like they've been in storage or something, the corners are sharp and they look nearly perfect.

In some places it wasn't, but I mainly did it so I wouldn't forget to today. You can always still post in the last months finds thread too, if you want.

I was trying to make a joke. :P You posted this pretty early in the day. Since DP is located in the US, I figured you'd wait until July to start this. :p

I guess you could call it a "find" since there was actually stuff left at Toys 'R Us when I went yesterday after work, 30 minutes until store closing on the last day of the B2G1F sale on DS games. I got:

DS Web Browser
Diddy Kong Racing
Tetris DS

Flea Market today...

-2 PlayStation systems, with A/V jacks built in on back(not just the A/V Multi and Serial ports) for $5 each. ^_^
-ToeJam and Earl (cart only) and Ms.Pac-man (complete) for $3 total.

my 2nd copy of ToeJam and Earl in the past 2 weeks now, which is odd cause i personally have only seen 1-2 before these.

This stupid sale, while being nation wide, must have been very YMMV in reguards to how long it would last. My TRU, as well as others I've heard about, stopped the sale after Thursday. I was all set to pick up EBA, Children of Mana, and Tetris DS on Friday of this week but no, the sale ended Thursday...

Let's see, today I found only a couple of things:

-Pac Man (Tengen) cart for NES: $3 at Goodwill and I gave it to my brother for the same $3 about an hour later when I met up with him somewhere
-NBA Live 99 for PS1 (excellent shape and complete): $3 at Goodwill

I passed up on the following things at Goodwill:

-NBA Jam TE for Genesis
-some BMX game for GBC
-A couple of $1.99 Super Mario/Duck Hunt loose carts
-Tony Hawk 4 for PS1
-Wheel of Fortune for PS1
-About a dozen very common Atari 2600 games at $3 each, none of which are worth more than $1
-2 generic 2600 controllers for $4

But.......I may go back and get what is left out of those tomorrow. It depends. Just hate buying too much in one fell swoop and I really don't want any of it but NBA Jam TE.

Picked up a PS1 with A/V ports at a local flea martket for $5.00. Also picked up Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2, Psi-Ops, The Warriors, Tiger Woods 2005, Indigo Prophecy, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Mech Assault 2 and Dynasty Warriors 5 for the X-box for $3 apiece. All of'em had cases and manuals too. Grabbed an X-box HD cable and a PS2 HD cable for $3 each as well. Didn;t even know PS2 had such a cable. The guy has about 40 other X-box games so I'll go back maybe this evening to pick out some more. He threw in an NES Super Tecmo Bowl cart only buy it doesn't seem to work.

I hooked up with AlanD on Sunday and earlier today to clear out what was left of his extra arcade boards, parts and many other little things after DreamTR left the place pretty dry, but it's all good. This was my first arcade stuff and boy was it a great beginning! Thanks again Al. I'm still sorting through all of the goodies and could post a picture later.

Had some time to kill before a movie on Sunday so my girlfriend and I went to the mall nearest to the theater. I figured I'd take a look in the GameStop, hoping I'd find...

Hit the garage sales over the weekend and didn't find much I was looking for. A few PS1's with crap games but no memory cards. This is pretty much all I picked up on that trip:

SNES: Nintendo Brand Cleaning Cart complete: $2

Today one of my co-workers brought in her family's Atari 2600, controllers and a couple games that her mom found while cleaning. A while ago she asked if I'd be interested and I said sure. Told her I'd give her some Xbox games for her kids in trade (she would have given it to me for free but it didn't feel right). This is what I eyeballed as I put it into my van (I'll edit and complete when time allows):

Video game storage center:Amber/brown plastic cover with black base. Is currently housing two Atari brand joysticks, the system and power supply.

Atari 2600 4-Switch "Darth Vader"-looking practically brand new.

Atari Brand joysticks: also looking brand new. Did they ever PLAY this thing?!

Atari Paddles

Two "flight grip" style controllers

Moon Patrol (complete in box)

The other game looked as if they either bought by mistake or was included in some big sale at some point:

Atari 7800 Mean 18 Ultimate Golf-Complete in box and mint. The cellophane was opened but that was it.

I was cleaning out my basement today when I found the following 2600 games (!!!)

Keystone Kapers - Do I even have to say anything?
Combat - Where a gamer was born in my case.
Frogger
Dark Cavern (Mattel)
Star Voyager (Imagic)

God, how I need a 2600.

I also found an orange NES Zapper and a Power Pad! Not a bad day for stuff in my basement.

SNES system with all hookups (RF and composite), 2 controllers, and 5 mint CIB games: Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country 3, Super Bonk, Super Mario Cart, and Kirby Super Star, all for $30 Canadian. Practically a 1:1 exchange rate, which is bad for me. I'm from the States, here for another month. He listed Super Mario RPG as well, but he couldnt find it when I got there. GRR!!!

Games, all CIB:

Tuesday at the local flea market...

Sal the junk dealer was out in full force again finally after having nothing but true junk for a couple weeks, I managed to find a couple things.

Dreamcast Official Fishing Controller - $1.00
Dreamcast Starfire Lightgun byt InterAct - $1.00
Dreamcast Black VMU - Free

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/DP-Finds-2007-07-03(01).jpg

The controllers were knotted among themselves along with a crappy third party Dreamcast controller. The third party controller had the VMU wedged into it but after some creative prying with a bread knife I found in another box of junk, out it came. I slipped it into the lightgun knowing that Sal wouldn't notice it when I asked the price. Hell, would have been the same if I bought the controller it was originally in. Anyway, fishing controller works great, glad to have an official one. No way to test the lightgun yet, the B button is missing on the left side but there's one on the right as well. I'm going to make a NESterDC v7.1b+ burn soon to test it out. VMU works fine as well, there were a lot of top notch game saves on there, shame none of the games were to be found.

Moving on, I spotted yet another Famiclone. I have a really bad history with these, I've bought at least five of them over the past few years and none of them have worked - they've been totally fried and eventually (after attempting to get them to work correctly) went into the trash. But this one looked like it was in really good condition for what it is, the battery compartment was tight, and the games were on a Famicom multicart - so trashed or not, I could at least get a cartridge out of the sale. The gentleman was asking $4.00, I didn't haggle. Get it home and after changing the batteries, it works PERFECTLY. Well, as perfect as these ever work. It's one of the Power Joy units with the lightgun built in, I believe these were all over Big Lots stores around Christmas a few years ago. The cartridge is almost totally unique games, very few repeats, and decent titles. Macross (of course), City Connection, Devil World, Road Fighter, Pooyan, Spartan-X and so forth.

Power Joy bootleg Famicom - $4.00

Now I've wanted a Game Boy Color for awhile, but didn't want to pay more than it's worth to me and that's about $10 max. My Afterburner modded Game Boy Advance is too valuable to me to carry around everywhere and my old brick GameBoy is from the original release so it doesn't come out much either. But a GBC I can just throw around and not worry about, great. Lady has two of them, right? Only one battery door, there was another but the clip was broken. So I pick up the cleaner of the two, put the good battery door on it, pay and leave. Later I get to another seller who I'm friends with (more in a moment) who has batteries and I try it out - NO SOUND. ggggrrrrrrrr...... So I go around trying to find the bitch, okay? Finally find her spot and the other GBC is there, but she's nowhere to be found - there are people looking at her stuff. Knowing she'd be an ass about it I just kinda looked around, knelt down, took the battery door off the bad GBC I had, picked up the other one, put the door on and walked away. Went back to the batteries and this one works fine, was a LOT dirtier and the screen is marred pretty bad, but it's fine - just going to get tossed around anyway. Cleaned up nicely just the same and works great.

Game Boy Color system, teal - $10.00
Project S-11, Game Boy Color - $5.00

Got this cool little shooter from the two Chinese gentlemen that I've been buying NES games from lately, I buy from them all the time and they always cut me a good deal. Usual price is $7 but he always mumbles a lower price to me so that the other people looking can't hear, in this case they're $5. I also had a bootleg multicart I was looking at, had the first Super Mario Land, Tennis, and a couple other okay games but I put it back - they're always there and I knew I had spent too much already. (trying to save right now for the most part) This is also where I went to try out those GBC's. $5 to keep from having a $10 waste of junk no sound GBC is fine by me. I should have bought that multicart too since I did keep using his batteries. Oh well, told him I'd be back next week, I'll buy one of them then if there's nothing else out there.

Nothing spectacular but still good stuff just the same. Think it's time for bed, have to work in the morning. :p

I got Breath of Fire III (PSX) complete and near mint for $2. o_O

I... uh. Also got a couple of... well... adult games today. Cobra Mission (http://www.mobygames.com/game/cobra-mission) and Metal & Lace: The Battle of the Robo Babes (http://www.mobygames.com/game/metal-lace-the-battle-of-the-robo-babes). The seller wanted $10, I offered $5 and got them both. Man. These things are a bit beat up but... hahaha. I'm just horribly amused by these two. If only I had a floppy disc drive. :P Both items are boxed and complete. Metal & Lace even includes the uncensor disk!

Found a nice Sonic Adventure 2 (DC) for $2. It had a broken hinge so at first I was thinking it'd be ratty and scratched to hell. Upon opening it there were a few minor scratches and everything else was great so I'll just grab a front to a spare case and make it look nice. Been wanting the second adventure game for awhile.

You may want to do a little research on that superman cart. It's worth (a lot) more than you think.

The last time I saw a Sears Superman cart with the picture instead of text, which was a about half a year ago, it sold in the hundreds. It's SUPPOSED to be a rare variant that was sold for less than a month (before being pulled off the shelves for liscensing issues) and is insanely valuable.

It has to be the Sears version, though.
The one you pointed out was the Atari version.

Also I should've said "That Superman cart MIGHT be worth a lot of money."
Look on the top of the cart. If there is a "p" beside the title then it's the common version. If not, then you've got the rare and valuable version.

GameStop had a coupon that expired today for $10 off when you buy two used PS2 games that were $11.99 or more. I got the coupon in my email last Friday, and have been checking their website every day since, hoping to find a store that had some combination of used copies of Odin Sphere (which was at a few stores around here used in the first place), Atelier Iris 3 (which was at one or two stores), and GrimGrimoire (a longshot, since it just came out last week). Since today was the last day the coupon was good and the stars never aligned for me to get two games that I wanted, I went to a store that had a used Odin Sphere that also a DS game that I wanted, and figured I'd see if I could pick something else out for the PS2. As it happens, they had a near mint copy of Marvel vs. Capcom 2, so I bought both Odin Sphere and MvC2 for $99.15 total after tax, the 10% off discount card, and the $10 off coupon. When I came home I stuck MvC2 on eBay with a BIN of $102, and someone bit and paid already, so after eBay fees, Paypal fees, and shipping, I wound up getting that Odin Sphere for a little under $4.

I sure wish it was the Sears Version.....Shame to say with all the 2600 games I've seen-passed up at flea markets and garage sales I may have missed one.

Here's all I have in Superman carts.

In the past couple of days or so, I have obtained the following:

-NBA Jam TE for Sega Genesis (box and cart): $3 at Goodwill
-Boxed Commodore 64 with a lot of hookups, one Fisher Price game, all the usual user manuals/warranty cards, the separate 1541 disc drive and a boxed VicModem with VicTerm cassette tape: $20 for the entire spread at a garage sale, not sure if it was worth that much but I was happy to pick it up, I'll have to test the system just to make sure I actually received all the hookups or if I need to hunt down one or two more cords.

By the way is anyone interested in trading for a VicModem? I won't be using it.

Heh, nice... what's the word... scam. You make me proud. ;) Though I'm still boggled at someone paying so much money for such an awful game. :p

Anyway, I bought two games today. Ultima Collection and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri: Planetary Pack. The former can go for $50 (disc only) and the latter for $100 (disc only)... and they're BOTH COMPLETE! Computer upgrade, here I come!

I happened upon an NES Advantage stick today (much to my surprise) for free. I also found something that isn't game related but I picked it up out of a deep-seated love for all things "Far East"...
