PlayStation longboxes and booklets for Krazy Ivan and Starblade Alpha from Digital Press user bwild22.

Ahh.. it's good to finally have a proper home for you m'lady...

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/DP-Finds-2007-11-08(02).jpg

Starblade being my all time favorite arcade game, had this loose copy of Starblade Alpha for years. It's a mint previous rental although it seems only myself and one of my friends (before we were friends) ever rented it. LOL As for Krazy Ivan I've had a loose copy forever, figured I'd complete it since it's fairly worthless either way so it piggybacked with Starblade Alpha in the deal.

Knowing a Starblade Alpha box would be few and far between I got to talking with him the very first day he posted his selling thread. From what I understand he's crazy busy so you may want to try contacting him again. He just responded to a PM so his box has space.

darkhades - Nice pickup with Puzzle Star Sweep, great little puzzler.

I traded in 4 common games I already owned and got $18 for them. I used $4 to get Corps Killer (Saturn) with a shammy case but I have replacements for it so it'll be GTG. The other $14 I'm paying back a friend for buying my MAGFest pass, still owe him another $1. LOL

Yup, all the SF controllers are 4.99 new. The stick is down to 29.99 if you can find it.

Found a few things today at a thrift store

Starting with what I was most excited to find:
Kensington Trackball I was most excited because I can use it with either hand since I use my left hand for my mouse. It took me a bit to get the drivers working properly but it works really nicely and I love the scrolling feature that it has.

6-Pak for the Genesis. Anytime you can find 6 games for the price of one its a good deal.

Pac-Man 2 also for the Genesis which I bought because a friend said it's pretty fun and for 3 dollars I figured I'd give it a try.

Lastly I picked up an odd looking 2600 game called Vulture Attack. I didn't know anything about it but thought I would take the chance it might be worth something. Thank heavens I did because it's my first R8!!!

After finding out about Vulture Attack I'm now must excited about it but the trackball is still pretty sweet since I've wanted one since I was a kid.

This evening, I went to a Goodwill where I've made quite a few nice NES finds in the past few months. They had a few NES games today, but most were SMB/DH's and sports games that have been sitting in the glass case for about a couple weeks and weren't worth the $2.99 each that they wanted for them. However, I did spot something worth the price to me:

Ninja Gaiden (cart only) - $2.99

Went up to a Cash Converters today and grabbed a few loose NES games:
F-15: City War
Maniac Mansion
Fire Hawk
Crash 'N' the Boys Street Challenge

Total damage: $6
I don't believe they're anything super special but cool additions to my NES collection (I believe I'm near 170 now).

Oh, and I forgot to add that I picked up Mischief Makers for $2 loose yesterday. Too bad I don't have my N64 hooked up at the moment and am too lazy to swap out a console to play 1 game.

Goodwill was good to me today:

7th Guest (PC, complete) - $3.25
Jeopardy (PC, complete) - $3.25
Leisure Suit Larry (don't remember which one, but it's for Windows 95, disc and back insert in case) - $3.25
Kings Quest VI (PC, complete) $3.25
Quattro Sports (NES, loose) - $3.25
Sega Saturn Bootleg Sampler (w/ sleeve) - $3.25
Space Jam (PS1, new and sealed but a few cuts in the plastic wrapper) - $5.50

And the best part that put a positive spin on an otherwise crappy day:
Loose Agetec Dreamcast arcade stick with loose first-party controller and loose Interact memory card (no cap) - $25.50

I walked to the back of the store and found it in the middle of the housewares stuff, of all places. Finally, I can play SF III: Third Strike, Alpha 3, and my vertical shooters the way they were meant to be played - with a stick!

It's not too bad once you get used to it. It only plays on a portion of the screen for some reason, but using the TV's zoom feature really helped.

And if I can see well enough in a Silent Hill game, any game should be fine ;)

Not a steal for $40, by any means, but I love the SMS packaging and have been looking for a boxed one. Apparently this one got lost in 'grandma's' basement for 20 years shortly after it was bought and played a couple of times. Unfortunately grandma didn't have a completely dry basement, so it has some water damage. Still, I'd consider it in good condition. The control stick has never been used.

The fact that I'm actually getting excited over my finds today is sad. Our town sucks so much. Our Pawn Shop is great, but it's only open Mon-Fri. -____-

Unreal Championship (complete) and Castlevania Adventure, $3 each at Gamestop.

Shadow Warrior (PC Version, anybody know if it will work on XP?) and Yoshi's Island DS guide was....$1! Yep. Got both of those at Goodwill.

Passed on some Genesis games. All of them were missing they're manuals. Also passed on Myst for PC, because it was missing its manual too.

Probably the last of the stuff for awhile. I'm now preferring to talk to my girlfriend than video games. This is what happened in my last relationship...

Shadow Warrior (PC Version, anybody know if it will work on XP?)

XP does have a setting for installing games that run on older versions of Windows, however I haven't gotten it to work successfully on any of my games.

Picked up a Nomad with NHL 95 and a power cord today at Value Village for about 25. Unfortunatly the screen has a crack and the speaker doesn't work and it's missing the AV cable and the battery pack but it's still so cool that I had to pick it up. My new goal is to finish a season of NHL 96 on it.

I went to Goodwill last Friday and found a nice stack of old Nintendo Power magazines. All mags are in mint/near mint condition. All still have the posters and order forms still intact. I got volumes # 9 - 22, # 25 - 37. Each mag was priced at .99 but it was 50% off day.

I would post pics but my digital Cam is being a jerk.

I decided to take an hour to hit two Goodwill stores and a couple other places to see what was to be had. Here's what I found:

Goodwill Store #1:
NES Golf - complete in box
Genesis - World Series Baseball - no manual
Genesis - NCAA Football '93 (?) can't remember the year - no manual
They wanted $2 each, but cash only and I didn't have any so I passed.

Half-Price books:
N64 South Park - $4.98
NES SMB/DH in sleeve - $2.98
Dreamcast - Tokyo Xtreme Racer 2 - $6.98

I bought all 3, but am returning the South Park and SMB/DH as I couldn't remember if I had them or not. The gem was the TXR2 for the DC. Very nice addition to the collection!

Goodwill Store #2:
Not a thing.

Thrift Store:
Had 3 Genesis games (Sonic and Knuckles, Royal Rumble, and Joe Montana FB) all complete with manual and box - but no carts! I asked and the lady said they must have been stolen. They were marked at $1.40 each, and someone stole em anyway. What a waste. I asked for the Box/Manuals, offered to pay 50 cents for em and they turned me down.

And then, the gold. Found a MINT condition "REAL ARCADE" Tournament stick for the Xbox! Never seen one in person. Price? Only $6!

Not a bad day.

The Fat Albert DVD was the start of some good finds at Goodwill today:

Fat Albert DVD - 5 episodes - $1.99

Genesis TMNT Tournament Fighters Mint Complete $1.99

Genesis PTO Mint Complete $1.99

32x game in a bag with manual $2.99

Leave it to Goodwill to price complete games at less than games in a bag, but then again, I'm not letting it bother me too much 8-)

Found a bunch of loose commons today. It's nice there's actually some games popping up lately as it's been pretty dry this year. Looks like people are finally selling off the old to buy the new! I left a lot of stuff behind either because I just didn't care for it (i.e. uninteresting NES titles and sports) or was in bad condition. So anyhow, each game was $1:
NES:
Ninja Gaiden
Flying Warriors
SNES:
Act Raiser
Saturday Night Smal Masters
Super R-Type
Lagoon
Super Adventure Island
The Chessmaster
Stunt Racer FX

Picked up a few NES games today. Overpaid, really, as it was 4 each for Godzilla and Jurassic Park. RBI was 1.80 before the 25% off, as was the Game and watch.

Was just talking about getting a Zelda G&W, but maybe this will satisfy me. It is a bit beat up, and missing the battery cover, but it works fine. Now that I have it in my hands I remember having a Burgertime one. I guess it was this one by Mattel (http://www.handheldmuseum.com/Mattel/BT.htm). Man I played the hell out of that.

Today wasn't all that bad...

Nothing at either local Goodwill, but I made a few other stops.

Value Pawn was having a 2 for 15 on XBOX so I picked up complete, scratchless copies of Enclave and Timesplitters 2. Then I stopped at a local comic shop and picked up a complete copy (sleeve, mint manual, foam insert, and box in very good shape) of Super Mario 2 for $10, that I've passed on numerous times before. Then made another stop at a little hole-in-the-wall Gamestop clone, and found a complete Greatest Hits Symphony of the Night on PS1 for $4.99. It has only a few minor scratches on it. Then a final stop at Blockbuster scored me a complete copy of Call of Duty 3 (although in a black case) in great condition for $9.99.

A Friend picked up some Intellevision II stuff with a load of loose games for $25.00...I have to pass on stuff like that..I can't make it back, nor any money on it when I go to sell it.

Pretty good day at the local flea market although I spent WAY too much money. Started things off with a Sega Saturn bundle for $20.00. It was marked $25 and I stupidly assumed the sitckers were his (pretty sure they were but I know better than to assume anything) so I offered $20.00 which the seller jumped on.

Sega Saturn Model 2 system
Sega Saturn Model 2 control pad
Sega Saturn AV cable
Sega Saturn power cable
Bootleg Sampler II (disc only)
Crusader No Remorse (disc only)
NiGHTS into Dreams... Sampler (disc only)
Road Rash (disc only)
Virtua Cop NFR (disc only)

I swapped the upper shell of this system with a cracked shell on a system I modded awhile back. The modded system as well as all the accessories and most of the games from this pickup are currently in my selling thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=106124).

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/DP-Finds-2007-11-13(03).jpg

I grabbed a bunch of old arcade tokens (are there any other kind) from another seller for $5.00 along with an LCD game that went into the trash when I got home.

Century Theaters Starcade x4 (brings back memories of youth)
Generic Bald Eagle
Discovery Zone
Palace Entertainment
Camelot Park (Livermore, CA location)
Generic "poker chip" silver
Kitsap Mall Silver Coin
Bullwinkle's (even more memories of youth, Chuck E. Cheese can stick it)
Bamboola (kids place in San Jose that closed recently, The Jungle is far better anyway)
Generic "Token For Arcade Only"
Q-Zar

He also had a bunch of Chuck E. Cheese tokens but I passed. To the collection these go... as soon as I remember where it's currently residing.

Anyone remember the guy I talked about from last week, the $1 for anything boxes of cables and controllers? Well all his stuff was there again and yup, there were new items. I went through all his boxes and went up to the guy running it - who was different from the guy last week. I told him I had six items and he looked at it for awhile and said $15.00. I tossed four of them back and got a $5.00 for the remaining stuff. As I paid I told him it was bullshit because everything was a buck each last week, to which he claimed not from him. I'm guessing they realized there was some good stuff mixed in there, oh well - I'm done with them. Granted the stuff I tossed back was like a GameBoy link cable, SMS control pad, worthless stuff. What I kept was...

PS1 - Namco JogCon force feedback controller
VCS - Gangster Alley

The JogCon works great.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/DP-Finds-2007-11-13(02).jpg

It seemed as if this week people were either really great or total assholes - a little of both at my next stop. Guy had a bunch of NES games, good games, and I asked how much and he said $2.00 each, so I grabbed 15. I stacked them up and got ready to pay and his buddy began sorting them back and forth. I asked again if they were $2.00 and he said that some are $5.00 - namely the two copies of SMB 3, Duck Tales, and Mickey's Adventures in Letterland. I told him to keep Duck Tales and the Mickey game (Duck Tales I have, Mickey was to fill an uncommon), give me the two SMB 3's for $5 each and call it all $30.00 flat (one free game) as to which they agreed. What's funny is there was a copy of The Legend of Zelda, StarTropics, Donkey Kong, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! and Tetris in there they passed off as worthless.

Moving along I came to my Chinese friends to which a ton of new NES titles had just arrived, they hadn't even been sorted yet. I traded back the broken Pac-Man 2 Genesis cart for an NES game (priced the same) and picked up five other great games (including another LoZ) at my usual $2.00 each price. Games below with an asterisk are from these guys.

1943
8 Eyes
Amagon
Castlequest*
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse*
Crystalis*
Donkey Kong
Flying Dragon: The Secret Scroll
The Legend of Zelda
The Legend of Zelda*
Mighty Bomb Jack*
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!
StarTropics
Super Dodge Ball*
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario Bros. 3
Tetris
Wizardry Master's Series
Wizardry Master's Series II: Knight of Diamonds

Most of these are for sale in my selling thread and I already sold one of the SMB 3 cartridges and StarTropics locally. 1943 was a pickup in error as I through I had 1942 at home but in fact I had 1943. Stupidly I didn't grab the copy of StarTropics II: Zoda's Revenge the first guys had instead of those stupid Wizardry games I needed to fill holes and collect dust - as I could have easily sold it with StarTropics. Oh well, hopefully it'll be there next week.

I found a huge lot of Intellivision games yesterday. The list is this:

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
Pitfall!
Dig Dug
Commando
Pac-Man
Sewer Sam
Thunder Castle
Word Fun
The Dreadnaught Factor
Baseball
Sea Battle
World Cup Soccer
B-17 Bomber
Star Strike
Auto Racing
NFL Football
Astrosmash
Tron Maze-A-Tron
Math Fun
Bump 'N' Jump
Frog Bog
Boxing
Sharp Shot
NHL Hockey
Golf
Lock 'N Chase
Space Hawk
Bowling
Shark! Shark!
Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack
Tron Deadly Discs
Mission X
Burger Time
Intellivision Voice Module
And an unknown cart (it has no label).

Some seem to be worth quite a bit... Sewer Sam has a red cart, and a different label though - is this anything special? Other games are way too beat up. I also picked up two copies of Super Mario 2, 1 Ninja Gaiden, 1 Punch-Out reissue (damaged case) and a copy of Goonies II. I also found Virtua Tennis (DC) for $1, complete and minty. :D

CIB Sega Master System games für ze winnar! Yeah, I haven't found a good CIB SMS game in the wild for awhile now. Good times.

Dave, good to know you're still modding Saturns. 8-)
Those are some nice arcade tokens, do you have a coin book you store those things in? Would be funny to have a coin machine at your house stashed with various tokens.

I still enjoy modding Saturns more than anything else since it's 100% electronics work instead of the 50/50 electronics and case work Genesis systems require. That and Model 2 Saturns are extremely well layed out inside.

I actually have a little plastic container I keep tokens in but I can't seem to remember where I put it. This seems to happen all the time with this one item, but I have a good idea of the couple places it probably is, I really need to get around to taking up close pictures of all them for my site. My Pole Position cabinet takes quarters which I prefer for home machines simply because they're about the coolest banks you can have. LOL There's about $35 in there last I checked - it's my new savings account. LOL

My most recent finds:

-Medal of Honor Frontline for XBox (complete): $4 at my local game shop

-NHL 2K for Dreamcast (complete, original version and not All-Stars): $3 at Goodwill

-NFL 2K1 for Dreamcast (complete, original version and not All-Stars): $3 at Goodwill

-NBA 2K for Dreamcast (complete, original version and not All-Stars): $3 at Goodwill

No major finds and this stuff was about market value so I didn't make out like a bandit. Still, these are the first finds I have had locally in a couple of weeks. To break out of my slump (not finding anything at all), I grabbed these.

Good to hear. I bet you'd go broke saving money if you had a slot machine. ;)

Went to Gamestop today, 2 teens tried to sell an xbox for credit or cash, well they didnt have a controller and the cash offer would of only been $15, I gave them $20 since I never owned one plus they are going to sell me a DS for $30 with Mario Kart as well with it. Good Deal for me.

Assassin's Creed Limited Edition - Xbox 360

Ordered it from Overstock this mornin'. It's actually a Christmas present for my bro. Oh, he is gonna be so excited.

Also picked up some Halo 3 Trading cards at Wal-Mart for him. Anybody else see these?

Yeah, I saw that but it's at least a little uncommon.

Yep.

The guide is a reference, IMO, not the Bible.

Crash n the Boys is pretty uncommon.

On-Topic: Picked up a Black and transparent orange N64 pad at the thrift the other day for $6. Analogue sticks work great :D

Who comes up with these prices?

Today's finds:

Yet another Super Joy (not SJ III) pad only for $3, and a first party PS1 memory card for $2.

Afterwards, I went to Gamestop, where I purchased a used copy of Sly 1 for $7 after edge discount. And I had to fight with them to NOT give me a GH copy. And then I had to fight with them to not give me a scratched up copy. *stops ranting*

Broke down and bought Raw Danger at my local GameStop. Believe it or not, but this is like the 3rd or 4th time in a row that I have bought something there and they have not asked me if I wanted to pre-order something. The worst they did was to ask me one time if I wanted to buy the strategy guide with my copy of Wild Arms 5.

Went to the Sanford Flea Market today, and picked up loose copies of Urban Strike (4.95) and Pitfall (2.99) for the Genesis to complete the empty cases and manuals I have for each game. I also talked one of the video game vendors there to sell me 15 NES dust sleeves for .25 each off of some of the games they had. Which is awesome considering I've paid .75 to 1.00 for them here.

I don't believe Kitsune Sniper uses it as a Bible as much as just mixing up game titles. Truthfully I feel sorry for anyone that takes pricing guides as though they're set in stone and are THE true value/rarity of something. They can be accurate but never perfect.

Today though, I drove around a bit between classes and got two things:
XBox:
Black (C - $3)

... and a board game:
Net.opoly

I couldn't pass it up. It was sitting in the electronics section of a CHKD thrift store for $5, still sealed. Reading the back information was hilarious and sounded like a great Monopoly knock-off novelty board.

Picked up syndicate for genesis for $5, a little more than I would have liked to pay but it was mint and I also got the store owner to throw in a mint condition box and manual for fantastic dizzy for genesis since the game was stolen by someone previously and otherwise I would have to buy the whole game again for the box and manual since those codemasters games are odd shaped and won't fit in a normal genesis case (now if I could only find a box and manual for Cosmic Spacehead...oh well)

I consider a NES game that I have never stumbled upon pretty rare. And I wasn't talking about Ice Challenge (that was never released, just announced). I've never stumbled upon a copy of Crash N The Boys, not even at a rental store, so I think of it as being very rare. Jeez.

'Sides, it's hard to find, I dunno (nor care) what it's worth. :P It's fun, even if the names and settings got altered too much.
