Lone Goodwill find from last night...
http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/DP-Finds-2007-11-16(01).jpg
I saw Wii Play in the display case so I asked to see it. The game inside is factory sealed, the Wii Remote was factory sealed as well so it's all 100% complete. I needed a Wii Remote but have no use for the game as I don't have a Wii. (but my siblings do as well as the game, which kicks ass I might add - especially the Tanks! game) So the sealed game is headding for eBay when I get off work tonight unless someone here wants it. Remember, the sealed Wii Play GAME ONLY. $25 shipped if anyone is interested? PM me if so, it's $29.99 used at Gamestop right now.

Duo in a trade from Kazuo. Need to get the caps replaced and region-modded. My slacker friend went home for the semester so its going off to oldschoolgamer.com for repairs when I get the money. The other stuff is my order from TZD.com.
This DUO is a holy grail for me as I have always wanted one as a child. I always had a pc-engine and a pc engine cd, but always wanted the US system. Even though the music goes in and out I'm still playing it.

While not gaming related, my find is technology related. This morning I picked up from a co-worker a pair of ID badges from DEFCON. One is from DEFCON 14 and the other is the programmable one from DEFCON 15. Truly cool items.

I guess it's depends where you are, I've seen more of those PC games than the NES carts.
They tend to end up in your local overpriced computer resell shop.... I know one who sells Pentium Laptops (barely working) for +500$. I've talked to him he's and Idiot.

nice pickup this morning for 60 bucks:
http://home.comcast.net/~evanwink/images/games/finds57.jpg
The great part is almost all of them fill holes in the collection (not counting the N64 games). Also picked up an NES and SNES w/ hookups and controllers for 7.50 each.
Here's the list of games:
NES
Super Cars, Darkwing Duck, DigDug II, GI joe atlantis, Thunderbirds, Dusty Diamond, Power Blade 2, Shadowgate, Empire strikes back, Hollywood squares, Galaxy 5000, SCAT, Star Wars, Klashball, Power Blade, SMB2, Zelda, F-15 Strike Eagle, Shatterhand, MegaMan 6, Touchdown Fever, Stealth ATF, Simpsons Bart vs world, Last Action Hero, Menace Beach, The Last Starfighter, Vegas Dreams, Whop 'Em, Battletoads & Double Dragon, Super Dodge Ball, Magic Johnson's Fast Break, Punch Out
N64
Castlevania, Zelda Ocarina, Zelda Majora (holo version), Pokemon Stadium 1&2, Diddy Kong Racing, Goldeneye, Gauntlet Legends, and the interesting seeming steering controller.
I only wish I'd had more money with me, because I'm sure I could've picked up three times that for very little more.

Very interesting day at the local flea market, so much so I'm only getting to listing my finds today, two days after getting them. To kick things off, some NES pickups. Most of these were free for direct trade to my Chinese game resale friends - basically I took a bunch of commons I needed in exchange for some uncommons / good games I had spares of (pulled from my buying and selling thread) that he can actually get some money for.
NES - BaseWars (FREE, traded Family Feud)
NES - Destination Earth Star (FREE, traded Gauntlet II)
NES - Hudson Hawk (FREE, traded IronSword)
NES - Legendary Wings (FREE, traded Snake's Revenge)
NES - Orb 3D ($2.00)
NES - Roger Clemens' MVP Baseball ($2.00)
NES - Super Cars ($3.00)
Super Cars was from the overpriced asshole I got Shinobi from two weeks ago - amazing how his prices have gone down a dollar. I never see Super Cars and kicked myself for not picking it up with Shinobi. I already had a copy of Hudson Hawk but the top label was damaged and this one was mint after cleaning off a rental sticker, I gave the other copy to my brother.

Cy the junk dealer didn't have much but in a box near the edge of his lot where he stands making prices I came upon a Japanese Pico game in a box... and another... and another... and some loose manuals in Japanese... and another game... and some accessories... so I finally just tossed everything back in the box and made my way over to a quieter area of his lot to check it out. Sure enough, Japanese Pico games as well as a little Pico keyboard and strangely a Pico fishing pole. I almost tossed that aside until I checked and saw Sega on the side. In the box there was also a yellow/white AV cable which made me think it was odd the system was nowhere to be found. He's had a USA Pico there in the weeks passed but it was loose and beat to shit in with the kids toys. I decided to go check where the box originally was and sure enough, there was the Pico system, so I grabbed it. Called to my uncle for an empty box, tossed it all inside and went up to see what the damage was. After asking him what it was and saying it's for kids he said $10 for it all. After regaining his attention with my cash (he was getting ripped off at the time, which happens every week) the Pico was mine.
No power adapter but the Genesis 2 / 3 family adapter is the same as the one that came with the Pico. Gave it the usual clean up and wipe down (especially since it's a kids system) and it works beautifully. All the games are complete with booklets and registration cards. The first Hello Kitty game also has its red and blue tinted overlays for the coloring page. Granted the names below are my generalizations of what the games are, I'd love to know the proper title. (phonetic Japanese as well as English translated)
PICO - Sega Pico system (JPN) with AV cable
PICO - Wizard of Oz (JPN)
PICO - 101 Dalmations (JPN)
PICO - Dumbo (JPN)
PICO - Winnie the Pooh (JPN)
PICO - Hello Kitty (JPN)
PICO - Hello Kitty 2 (JPN)
PICO - Mickey Mouse at Disney World (JPN)
PICO - Gabuccho Challenge Fishing (JPN) with fishing controller
PICO - Keyboard Pico (JPN) with keyboard controller
The whole lot...

Now there seems to be next to no information online about any of this stuff but I know the Pico is still around in Japan in one form or another. A few of the games had 3999 yen price stickers on them from a Japanese Toys'R'Us. (found that entertaining) Keyboard Pico is like a typing and language tutor. Gabuccho Challenge Fishing is like Sega Bass Fishing crossed with The Blue Marlin - it's honestly a lot of fun and I spent a couple hours messing around with it and having a great time. The reel cranks your line up in the games and the rod shakes and vibrates - best of all the storyware for it is pretty much 100% fishing games of one kind or another.
If anyone has any information about this stuff or can direct me to a good Pico resource, that would be great! I'd also love to have the game names properly translated (phonetic Japanese as well as English translated as I said above), if anyone could help me with that it would be most appreciated. There are higher resolution pictures of the games here (http://www.classicplastic.net/junk/Temp06.html). I'll probably make a thread here in "What's It Worth?" to mine more information. I was thinking of reselling it but that fishing game is just way too quirky to let go and I like the design and color scheme of the system far more than the USA counterpart. With me it stays I suppose. :)
Oh, and today I picked up F355 Challenge Passione Rossa (DC) and Super Glove Ball (NES) both loose for $5.00 from Game Crazy. (not pictured)

Hard to read some of it cause your pics aren't the best quality.
1) ozu no mahoukkari (Wizard of Oz)
2) 101 [my kanji is limited] wanchan ~ wanchan daikoushin!
3) Danbo (duh.. lol)
4) Puu (lol!) no ichinichi (Everyday Pooh... Days of Pooh, lol hahahahaha some variation of the sort)
5) Herou Kitei no suteki na otanjoubi (Hello Kitty's Wonderful Birthday)
6) Herou Kitei no tanoushi [can't make it out due to poor quality; it's "bu" or "pu"]tou[same, cant make it out]i (Hello Kitty's Fun something.. take better pics) (top characters in the circle with the red bg say "hajimemashirizu," which is like a combination of "hajime" (begin) and the english *borrowed* word for "Series..." so its like "Beginner's Series" I guess.)
Not perfect, but between not good pic quality and lack of having used my Japanese in years its the best I can do. Hope it helps.
Nice find BTW. I always love finding Japanese gaming stuff when I go thrifting and whatnot.

I always find that kinda odd myself as I really live in the middle of nowhere. Ever seen American Graffiti? I've lived round about there for 80% of the year for the past few years or so. Back to Silicon Valley full time next year though. :) What's funny is the junk reseller's warehouse is in the bay area from what I've overheard. LOL There's always some oddball miscellaneous in there and an import something or other (usually those giant mangas that look like phonebooks) every couple weeks.

My finds:
- Bleach (DS. New): $30
- Guitar Hero (PS2. New): $40
- Konami Collector's Series: Castlevania & Contra (PC. Loose & Mint): $5 (Gift for my sister and her soon-to-be husband. He likes Contra, she likes Castlevania)
- Sky Odyssey (PS2. Complete & near mint): Free
I would have bought the Guitar Hero 1 & 2 bundle at Wal-Mart (Only $40!), but thanks in part to employees that didn't know anything, I didn't find out where they put it until it sold out. Damn Wally-World...
My Wife and I took our Daughter out for Black Friday. We didn't find any games at a reasonable deal, but DVD sales were good.
1) Best Buy. We got there at 5:30 am and got out the front door at 7:20 am. We got the following deals there.
Family Guy Volume 4: $15
The OC Season 4: $15
Spongebob Squarepants Season 4 Volume 2: $15
Big Daddy: $2.50
2) Wal Mart. We got there and the place was completely dead. I was happy.
Austin Powers trilogy: $2.97 per disc
All in all it was a good trip. I'm glad it's over, though!

Thanks! I thought it was a fair price. I've wanted to try one of the newer gen Pokemon games and Ruby/Sapphire seemed to be the ones I'd be the most interested in. When I saw the $10 tag I figured it was about as good as it could get. Anyway, thanks for the reassurance!

Ugh. Worked retail for most of the morning, braindead...
I picked up some good games at work, though.
Sly 2: Band of Thieves (non GH, new) - $9
The Matrix: Path Of Neo + The Plan + King Kong (all PS2) - $9.99
After I got off work, I asked mom to take me to the new Best Buy in hopes of finding a copy of Orange Box (PC), but there were none left... or so we thought. I talked to one of the associates and he said there might be a copy in the reshop section (where things that customers bring up to the register but end up leaving instead go) and there was ONE lone Orange Box copy left. He gave it to me, and I am hap-py.
My wallet sure hurts, though!

Also had my hands on the limited Zelda DS bundle, but ultimately resisted temptation, since A. I already own Phantom Hourglass and B. supposedly the core system is going to be releases separately next year, much like the Crimson/Black DS.

So, I'm getting used to the new area here- and it looks like the classic gaming stores may be few and far between in this town at least. But I did score a gold copy of majora's mask and a grey copy of Ocarina of Time for the n64 for 5 bucks each loose. I already have a gold ocarina of time, so I'm not sure why I bought the grey copy. I also found an access card for a voom box that I needed (for the one I picked up at a thrift for 8 bucks a month or so ago). So now I have an awesome, working High-Def tuner for my TV that picks up a few local stations in High-Def. Which is cool considering I don't have cable or satellite yet. Then I went to Wal-Mart and picked up that PS2 Guitar hero 1 and 2, two pack for $40 total (which is funny when the guitarless copies of either were 40 bucks). I also picked up that 30 dollar controller they had, which I think kinda sucks. I may have to buy a better one eventually.

Today's finds:
Bubble Bobble, DK Jr. Math (loose) - $5
Moby - Moby - $1
Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist - $2
Interact PS1 Memory Card (+ case for four cards) - $3
Oh yeah, I also got a new Mousercise CD for a buck. This is the original 80's version, rereleased on CD. It's being sold at Amazon for $40, but it can't be worth that much... can it?

$40 is really steep, I find the records all the time for under $2 and the highest I've seen it is $5 at a record shop. I've stumbled across the CDs a couple of times but I do believe there are various prints. You could always ask over at a CD forum or put it on eBay for a decent low bid and see if it climbs.

That's what I plan to do this weekend. Though, I'd also like to find copies of the music. :p I like crappy 80's albums like these, eheh.

On the 15th I picked up a 30" Sanyo HDTV for $240 after taxes from a pawn shop. It's a CRT model, which is exactly what I wanted for a gaming HDTV.
Black Friday I went all around town trying to get stores to price match Call of Duty 4 to $48. I didn't want to make the 30 minute drive to the closest Target but it was a no go. I ended up having Wal-Mart match The Orange Box for the same price. I also picked up Civil War for 360 for $15 from Gamestop.

I thought this was an urban legend! I thought Wallymart wouldn't let you pricematch - at least I haven't found an official policy on the internet...
Fuck, if I'd known that I would've purchased a copy of Orange Box there!

As part of my adventure in packing, I traveled back out to my storage today. They were having another junk sale:

All for $1.50. Again, sorry for the dark pic. I'm told that Piranha is hard to find. Regardless, it's a fun game.

Bastard! I've been dying for a copy of Tomba!! I just can't bring myself to spend the $50 it gets on the Bay (I've never seen it anywhere in real life).
I've been a bit anal retentive when it comes to money lately, so I haven't bought much, but I stopped in Circuit City today. They had a 2 for $30 type deal for $20 games. So I picked up Big Brain Academy (as a gift!) and MGS: PO Plus. Also found a copy of Okami there for $30 bucks.

Wait. You can price match at Wal-Mart?!
Yes they will with the advertisement. There isn't even a limit on the price difference.
I had originally tried to get two Gamestops to match the ad because I wanted Call of Duty 4. One told me they wouldn't do it since it was over $10 and couldn't even take $10 off because that wasn't the advertised price. The other told me they wouldn't do it because it wasn't a week-long sale.
I'm thinking about taking it back to Wal-Mart tonight and exchanging it for Call of Duty 4 if they have it back in stock.

Found today:
Several issues of something called Twilight X, an issue of Usagi Yojimbo, and other random comics -and- I also got tons of PC games, all for three bucks.
At another booth I picked up six NES games for three bucks. The games are Double Dribble, Silent Service, Big Bird Hide and Seek, Zombie Nation, Back to the Future and Rocket Ranger. Some of these are in really sorry shape, though. They're mostly going to be added to that lot I plan to sell next week. ;p

My finds from the week down in Springfield, MO:
SNES, 2 controllers, gameboy player, hookups - $15
NES Tiles of Fate - 3
NES Pac-Man (unlicensed) - 3
NES Pro Wrestling w/ sleeve - 1
PC Betrayal at Krondor (5.25" complete) - 1
nothing too special I'm afraid, but filled a couple holes, and I'm glad to have the map/manual/etc for Betrayal. They have some nice thrift stores down there, and I'm sure on a different day I might have made out great.
Anyone know if Betrayal at Krondor is the game that had those rune translation discs that you needed to solve some puzzles, or am I totally confusing some games?
Meant to go to the 1984 Arcade, but just never made it. Next time I guess.

I bought Night Caster II for $7.99 and OutRun 2006: Coast to Coast for $14.60, and found that they rung up cheaper at the register. Night Caster II was around $6.50, and OutRun 2006 was a little over $12. I now have two sealed copies, so I'm gonna open one up and save the other one.
