Picked up 6 brand new Game Boy Advance SP's on clearance at FYE this morning for $59 each with the intention of ebay'ing them. I've sold four in approximately six hours via BIN. I really didn't realize they would sell so quickly. Wish I could find another lot of'em.

I replaced my Odyssey 2 RF. If you are just upset from the collecting standpoint, then that sucks, but if you are coming from the functionality standpoint, then it is pretty easy to replace. You just open the system, and plus in an rf cable where the old one was.
*hugs*
Didn't realize it was that easy! Thank you... now unfortunatly the stuff I got free doesn't work (VB has no video, Sinclair... well what a shock, that thing's fragile as hell :D ) but the O2 I paid for, hopefully that shines through.

Went to the local Flea Market, not much there. The only thing I found was a Mortal Kombat 4 Official Strategy Guide for $1.00. It's in pretty fair condition.
Oh and I also picked up Wii Fit last Thursday. The local Best Buy just got 10 of them in. I was luck enough to find about 4 on the shelves.

No pictures, but I did get a T-shirt with a custom-made bit of text on it for five bucks at the Sweetwater, Tennessee flea market.
Oh, and do yourself a favor - AVOID the game stores there. I never thought I'd see people selling stuff for a much higher price than the Mexican booth owners back in Calexico, California... but these guys take the cake. I will not pay $60 for a copy of Metal Gear Solid, $85 for a beat up Game Boy Player, $199 for Grandia 1, or $250 for a copy of Lunar Silver Star Complete for the PS1. What in the FUCK, seriously.
those prices are in paseos right?

US Dollars.
I never thought I'd see a place with higher prices than eBay. Jesus.
My nephews told me they were selling the Metal Gear Solid collection - the one readily available at any Wal-Mart or Gamestop for $30, for $65. I seriously wanted to punch the booth owners, Christ.

My only response would be uncontrollable laughter as I pointed at the guys behind the booth. I'm guessing the quality of crack rock in that particular area is rather high.

Yesterday...
At a yard sale a guy had 2 intellivisions - One was a original boxed intellivision and the other was an intellivision III. Also he had 11 games with both systems.
When I asked him how much he said "$3 bucks." I replied - "For both?" He looked a bit puzzled and asked me what I was talking about. Here, he thought I was asking about a boxed black and white TV. He said "Oh, those intellivisions. I know she wants more than three bucks for those. Those are worth money. He asked his wife and came back and said $20 bucks for both systems and 11 games." I imediately paid him for it and got out of there. One of the games, Atlantis, is still sealed.
Everything works perfect - Had all the cables to play both systems and all games were in the box with overlays.

DC guns look to be listed a good bit higher in the guide. Flipping through ebay right now, look a little higher than Saturn guns there too.

I hit a couple thrifts this morning, all I bought was an original Mattel Electronics Football 2 handheld for 75¢. I guess that was karma trying to make up for the original Football 1 I passed on last week in a thrift in Shreveport. I didn't want to ring just that up and interrupt the shouting match the two clerks were having.

Man I wish I lived where you did. I haven't been able to find 1 of those deals at all this year. Were those all yard sale deals or fleas? Great finds!
They were all garage/yard sales. The flea market I go to doesn't have much I want anymore. I don't think I've bought anything there for 3 weeks now.
It's not all great though, finding a lot of stuff means a lot of sorting and cleaning too.

Ha, I remember going to Laredo, TX a few years ago (bordertown in South Texas with Mexico) to visit family there. We went to downtown Laredo and the prices at the game stores were just insane for video games. I walked right out every store I walked into LOL.

I recieved my absolutely complete copy of RockMan EXE 3 Black yesterday.
It has all inserts and everything, including the Carddass card.
Surprisingly, the game's box was not mint as promised.
The right box flap is wrinkled, but it was easily shaped back into the proper position.
There is also a small crease on the bottom-front of the box, and one on the back edge.
This is not as bad as it sounds, yet it could have been a lot worse. (at least it only cost me $4.99)
Someone promised me a mint Japanese GBA game some months ago through eBay, and it arrived 2-weeks later. The game was flopping around in the ENVELOPE that it was sent in, the box was crushed and had a huge rip in it, and the clear cartridge wrapper was tucked into the cardboard tray within the box.
Basically, the guy threw the beat-up box into the envelope without even putting the game back into it's wrapper or the box.
How classy! -__-
(I was able to get a refund after complaining to the seller, luckily.)

My latest finds:
- Mario Party 4 (Gamecube. Complete & mint): $6
Traded for: Mario Tennis (Nintendo 64. Loose)
- Phantasy Star Online: Episodes I & II (Gamecube. Complete & mint): $6 :)
- Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped (PlayStation. Non-GH w\ hologram cover. Complete): $8
- Crash Team Racing (PlayStation. Non-GH w\ foil cover. Complete): $8
I finally have all 3 main Crash Bandicoot games on PlayStation, along with Crash Team Racing (I almost bought an original copy of Crash Bash, but passed it up for CTR). Also, I've been keeping an eye out for the Gamecube version of PSO (It may not be the Plus version, but it'll do).

Also, I've been keeping an eye out for the Gamecube version of PSO (It may not be the Plus version, but it'll do).
The non-plus version has the exploit that allows running unsigned code over ethernet. I think that Schthack has most of the PSO+ extra missions up as download missions as well. I'd say to set it up to play online, but BB is much more secure.

I went to a few places today...
Library - Been getting comics for $.25 each, but they ran out. Even the other box of comics, $3/ea X-Men in bags+boards. I did see some CD-I games at $3/each, but I'll wait til I find a CD-I. Only interesting looking one was Burn:Cycle.
Blockbuster - Lots of used games, at meh prices, but nothing that I really wanted. Got The Number 23 for $4.
Salvation Army - I was amazed at what I found a few weeks ago, but the games and computer stuff rack was pretty boring this time. One of the Monkey Island games for $10, but that's crazy price compared to everything else in the bin. Underneath a stack of VCRs and old phones, however, a box caught my eye:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3165/2696841372_0c8c07033b_b.jpg
Box - Had a price tag of $19.99. Says "DO NOT FREEZE." Ok.
FOUR Controllers -...in fun colors! They all work.
TWO Rumble Paks - One official, one off-brand. Both work. The off-brand one lights up, but it's louder than a regular one.
Controller Pak - Yellow, off-brand, same as the one I got last week at PnT. Had to swap out the battery inside both.
N64 - Amazingly, not that dusty. Cleaned up nicely, looks great. Stock, not with memory expansion. Works fine.
Games (most needed a quick cleaning, all work):
-Hexen - Former rental, Blockbuster label on back. Had to partially damage the back label to remove.
-DooM 64
-Rainbow Six
-Wave Race 64
-Mortal Kombat Trilogy
-Turok
-Cruis'n USA
-Fighters Destiny
-Top Gear Rally
-Destruction Derby 64
-Mario Party
-Star Fox 64
-Super Mario 64
-Goldeneye 007
Offering to Play N Trade tomorrow:
-Console + hook-ups
-Gray controller
-Off-brand rumble pak
-Games:
Destruction Derby 64
Wave Race 64
Top Gear Rally
Goldeneye 007
Star Fox 64
Super Mario 64
Everything else, I'm keeping. I've been wanting Hexen and DooM 64, specifically. This is my first time finding something like this, so I'm pretty happy about it.

A couple days ago I did the thrifting route, the only thing of note I picked up was a boxed Milton Bradley Simon game. I keep finding these things boxed around my area for some reason. Wow, the past couple days of finds at Goodwill *almost* makes up for the bad luck I've had there for the past 2 years:
http://home.comcast.net/%7Enorkusa/7_24_08_finds.jpg
Guides (all $0.99 each):
Vanguard Bandits (missing dust jacket, ugh)
Ehrgeiz
Grandia
Grandia II
Persona 2
Digimon World
Ogre Battle 64
Breath Of Fire IV
Suikoden II
Legend Of Mana
Star Wars Racer
Killer Instinct
Prima 5-in-1 RPG guide
Games:
Tengen Tetris $1.99
Monopoly NES - factory sealed $2.99
Mario Kart 64 $1.99
Star Wars Shadows Of The Empire $0.99
Rampart w/ manual $1.99
Pipe Dreams 3D $1.99
Gex Enter The Geko $1.99
I was pretty excited when I saw the Monopoly and Tetris, but I was blown away when I came across the strategy guides. The funny thing is that a guy in the store saw me carrying them and said he passed them up the night before because he didn't have enough cash. I'm amazed they sat in Goodwill that long. Around here, stuff like this usually gets snatched up as soon as it hits the floor.
The only thing that sucks is that most of the guides have torn covers in the upper right hand corners of the covers (Suikoden was spared though). Looks like they were priced for a garage sale and a Goodwill employee ripped them them off before putting the guides out on the floor. :grrr:

Surprisingly, I found a few good deals at Gamestop today.
Gamestop #1
SNK Arcade Classics (PSP) - $17.49 (after 20% off coupon & Edge 10% off)
Unreal Tournament III (360) - $38.49 (after 20% off coupon & Edge 10% off)
I had over $53 in store credit sitting on an Edge card, so after using it up, I only spent $3.14 on both games.
Gamestop #2
Arctic Thunder (XB) - $6.19
Crusty Demons (XB) - $5.39
Taz Wanted (XB) - free
I'm pretty sure I don't own all of these, but if I do, I'm going to do an exchange. It's a shame when you own so many games for one system that you're not sure if you already own a game or not...

I traded in what I said above, minus Wave Race and one controller, which I gave to a friend. Those would have been a difference of $2. I got $15.90 for the rest, so I got around 8 games for $4.10 in the end. With my credit, I got:
Metal Gear Solid (PSX) - Greatest hits, he had to repair the disk, taking a while to copy the iso for my PSP but it should be fine. $5
Winback (N64) - Cart only. $5
Forsaken 64 (N64) - Cart only. $5
He also gave me a Soul Calibur IV shirt, and a little plastic Hulk, for being a good customer. I'd take a picture, but it's late and I'm exhausted.

man you guys have some amazing thrift stores in your area, unreal.
we have like 4 goodwills and a value village and about a handful of second hand stores NONE of which have anything.
but that ended yesterday, I finally found something worth buying. I wanted to buy Metroid Prime for the GC for awhile but didn't want to pay 10 bucks or more for it.
Luckily I found one almost brand new, even the plastic on the front of the case was silky smooth and mint. It was the 2 disc edition with the demo for Metroid Prime 2. got it for 4 bucks. SCORE!

Wow, the past couple days of finds at Goodwill *almost* makes up for the bad luck I've had there for the past 2 years:
You win. Too bad about the games though. When I came to your post I only scrolled it half-way through the picture initially so I could take in the guides. Then when I scrolled the rest of the way and saw that you didn't get any of the games I was like "Noooooooo..." Ah well, you still had what would amount to a dream find for me. And you're right, the games could still turn up.

Got a few games in the mail yesterday:
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (with screen wipe premium)
Touch Detective 2-1/2
Not real exciting but I've been wanting to check out DQM: Joker for awhile now.

If they haven't put out those PS1 games yet, there is definitely still a chance those games could turn up.. I once found about 7 Cd-i games at a thrift store and I asked if they had the system in the back.. They said if it's not out they wouldn't be able to find it and price it for me.. So I waited and two weeks later it finally showed up.. So I would recommend checking back frequently..

you figure if someone is collecting strategy guides for classic rpgs, they would not just give them away without the games? It always puzzles me. the employees probably scam the games out of the back room, and think the guides are junk.
Porksta knows better, he would take the game and the guide.

They most likely never got the games in at Goodwill. All of the guides had little handwritten price tag stickers on them that looks like they were torn off by Goodwill. My guess is that someone had a garage sale, sold the games but not the guides, and dumped the stuff that didn't sell off at the store (I see this happen a lot during the summer). If the games were sold in a garage sale though, why would they buy the games but pass on the guides?
I hope I'm wrong though. I'm still going to check every day for the next week to see if they're there. On my way right now in fact. :-P

guys that sell at flea markets or just take the stuff to a local game trade in store are clueless about strategy guides, but if they get games cheap they know they can make money on them.
I would just think the people running the sale would just say take the guide. And not try to sell by itself?

I know at my local Value Village it can take a week or two for the games to come out while books come out every day.

just picked up at the local independent game store, doom 3 collectors edition xbox for 2.50, they had another for 12.00 in the display case, But the one i bought was in the bargain bin. I cant belive it was so cheap. Its mint as well.
Also not really a find, but someone was trading in a mini snes system complete in the box while i was there, it was not priced yet before i left.

Back when I got those Channel F games I previously posted about, the same thrift store also had gotten in a whole bunch of Intellivision carts priced at $1.99 a piece, which I actually thought were 2600 games at the time. Shows how clueless I am about pre-crash stuff, but, then again, I'd never claim to be an expert on that era. When I finally returned to the store, I decided to bite. I suppose that's a bit much for loose Intellivision carts to some people, but considering I almost never come across Intellivision games (and when I do it's just one lonely cart), I don't think it's so bad. Unfortunately, a few good games were picked out between those visits, but most of the stuff was still there. I passed on around 7 or 8 sports games, though, as I couldn't justify the price for those. I won't bother with a photo since a bunch of black carts aren't all that interesting, but here's the list:
Astrosmash
B-17 Bomber
Carnival
Frog Bog
Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack
Lock 'N' Chase
Loco-Motion
Night Stalker
Space Armada
Space Battle
Stampede
Star Strike
Sub Hunt
Triple Action
Utopia
Vectron
Nice start to a new collection; now if only I could find a system. :)

I bought 22 CDs today (Erm, Yesterday, It is so late..) For cheap, Too late to list now. One CD doesn't work, The other is the wrong CD. (Led Zeppelin case, Ozzy Osbourne CD) I'll see if they still have the Led Zeppelin CD and the case to the Ozzy CD.

Only one pickup today. I grabbed a toploading NES with 2 old, square controllers, the gray zapper, and the power and RF cords. Of course he threw in the required Super Mario/Duck Hunt game. The only problem with it so far is that it has a couple of cracks in the upper case. Got the lot for $25, so it is not that bad of a deal.

Went garage-saling today for the 1st time in a while. Picked up a plastic raygun for .50 at one sale and the other sale I picked up a half yellowed SNES minus all the cables (which I have anyway) for $.50. Which is cool as that's the cheapest I've ever found a console.
