The river city ransom was $00.25. Nice and minty too.
The SMS was $40 local.
The other stuff came from replays. $40 total. The most expensive thing was the FOTNS boxset, which was 20.

No, it was from a friend, he did the mod himself.

Shucks, I was hoping you'd found it at a Goodwill or something. It'd be crazy to find a modded system in the wild like that.

I count it as a find in the wild, since I didn't have to buy it from ebay.
I need to get a sell/trade thread going for some of that stuff. That landstalker will replace mine, and I already have a loose Super double dragon. I'll probably keep the River city ransom, since I sold the last one.

Lately I can't seem to find squat in the wild. All I bought today was two fairly common Atari 2600 games (Towering Inferno, Crackpots), Q*Bert for the Colecovision, and Sub-Terrania for the Genesis (all loose). $1.99 for the 2600 and Coleco games and $2.99 for the Genny game.
In the past year my local thrifts have been dry as a bone. When I find games they're usually in local Movie Trading Company stores that don't know how rare anything is. For example, all Atari 2600 titles are marked $1.99, but all Colecovision games are marked $9.99. Even if the 2600 games are fairly rare and the Coleco titles are dirt common, that's how they price them. That's how I bought my Rescue Terra I for two bucks. They thought the Q*Bert I bought today was a 2600 game, so they priced it as such, because nobody there knows a thing about classic games.

I've slowed down on posting my stuff here... all the really common stuff just didn't seem worth it any more. These were a couple of big purchases (for me), so I thought I'd throw them up.
60 GB PS3 with a bunch of stuff for 380. MGS is actually new, the guy picked up his preorder on his way over (he delivered for some reason). Only problem is that there is a pretty significant scratch across the top from a boxcutter. I forgot to ask how exactly that happened, pretty strange. Deal was supposed to include GTA4, but his sister wanted that, so he knocked $40 off, which really was fine with me.
http://home.comcast.net/~evanwink/images/games/Finds/finds105.jpg
Saturn lot: $80. Unfortunately the Panzer Dragoon disc is missing, though I luckily have a disc only copy. Also disc only copies of Nights NFR, Myst, Night Warriors, Need For Speed, Solar Eclipse, and Virtua Fighter NFR. I've now got a couple round-button Saturns and this oval button one, is one more desirable than the other? I've never been much into Saturn, and will likely sell all but the best stuff/things I'll play from this lot.

Is that a Memory Card?
yeah, it is. The Dragon Force sticker on it actually says 'Backup RAM Cartridge', but it is on a pretty regular InterAct memory card. I think I sold one like it a long time ago, but w/out the sticker. I'm guessing that the sticker just came with the game... anyone know?

Oops, not much of a 'finds thread' post without the price! I paid 380 for that lot off of Craigslist. I'm flipping the PS3 because I already have a 60GB one. Based on what I've seen I should get what I paid just for the PS3, acc., and some of the games. Maybe more. Basically I bought it all to get a free copy of MGS. :pimp:

A good stop at Gamestop, followed by good finds at two Goodwills...
http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/2288/49ctyz2.jpg
Hit a Gamestop this weekend with the 30% off Xbox and Gamecube email coupon (plus Edge Card) and after discount, got the games in the top row (all complete) for just over $40 total.
Then had 2 nice finds at two Goodwills. The first had all of the following complete (except for the NES title) for $1.99 each:
Gameboy Tetris Attack
Gameboy Centipede/Millipede
NES Mickey's Adventure in Letterland
PS1 Land Before Time Big Water Adventure
PS1 Pipe Dreams 3D
PS1 Rayman Brain Games
Then the next Goodwill had all of the following loose (GB games had clamshells) for only .49 each
GB Battletoads
GB Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 2
GB Game & Watch Gallery
GB Kirby's Dream Land
SNES Disney's Goof Troop
SNES Mega Man X
SNES Krusty's Super Funhouse
SNES Zelda
SNES Chrono Trigger
Saved the best for last...49 cents is by far the least I've ever paid for a Chrono Trigger!

no matter where you buy a game they always seem to try to ruin it with a sticker, put them on the back goodwill,
The worst is the privately owned thrift stores near me, they write with black marker directly on the label and there is no way to get it off.

I've now got a couple round-button Saturns and this oval button one, is one more desirable than the other?
From what I remember, the round button model (model 2), tends to work better with a mod chip to play backups. Other than that, I don't know of a big difference.

I like this thread and enjoy seeing all the good deals everyone gets(and I never seem to find), but I just need to ask something: is this thread for everything you buy, like a new release brand new, or just things you found for good deals? I don't want to rustle any feathers, but I am just curious because I don't think a brand new Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is a find rather that just a purchase. Again, I don't want to insult anyone I'm just curious.

Beyond pawn/thrift/rummage sale/flea market finds, I tend to only post stuff I buy that is not at regular price from department stores or gamestores, like clearance or used items but not if I buy something new for full price. With that said I don't mind if people post those purchases I just choose not to.

back in the olden days there was more than 1 argument about that, but eventually the mods just said "screw it, post whatever you find." Because what might be a sweet deal for 1 person might be a *yawn* for someone else. But it is a judgement call, so now just post whatever you are happy about showing.

I've heard Model 2's are easier to work with as far as mods and repairs. I also heard that they don't wear out as fast and have less problems.
Nothing picture-worthy, But I picked up a 15-30 soldering iron, a few leds, a tool kit, and some other parts from Radio-shack. I also picked up a new, opened copy of Katamari Damacy for 8.99. The gamestop employee was nice enough to throw in a harvest moon cat with my purchase.

This thread is for YOUR finds. If you feel that your GameStop/BestBuy/general retail find should be in here, then put it in here. Same goes with an eBay purchase, wether or not you got it for a steal or paid the normal price. There are no set rules when it comes to something like this, because everyone has their own personal take on it.
I tend to only buy retail new stuff and don't think that anyone really cares to know that I bought MOAR DS games and the like so I don't post em. Others do. Do it if you want to, Don't if you don't want to.

Anyway, I finally have some finds to brag about.

Rosetta Stone: Japanese Explorer was a buck, and it's brand new.
Nascar Racing 1999 was two dollars.
The Golden Compass (PC, new) was two dollars.
DDR Extra Mix is complete and minty, and has the spine inside, and it cost me a buck!
I bought Golden Compass and DDR Extra Mix at one booth. The guy wanted $3 but I only had $2 so he took that... I told him I'd go look for change and come back later with the $1 I owed him. He didn't believe me... and was stunned when I came back a half hour later to give him the $1 before I left.
I may be a scammer, but I don't like to owe people money. I just don't.
Ahem.
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/2008-07-02-02.jpg
I got all these things from one booth. Nascar Racing 2 50th Anniversary was $1, and it was tucked away way in the back. I barely managed to see it before I left. The disc is dirty but the package is complete.
Shining The Holy Ark and D are both complete and they cost me $4 each. They're going to go to the eBay store. The discs are a bit beat up but they look pretty serviceable. :)
Oh, and another sorta kinda find: I've had a couple of spare Diablo II / Lord of Destruction CD keys lying around (I didn't have any CDs, just the keys). I couldn't sell them on eBay (I had no buyers) so I took them and registered them with Blizzard, and now I have legitimate copies of the two games. And they didn't cost me a penny. Woot. :D Course I have to download them now. Ugh. :P

I just got these :
GUN for Gamecube $7,50
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire for Gamecube $7,50
NHL 2K7 for 360 $15
NBA 2K7 for 360 $15
The Golden Compass for 360 $15 ( 10x what Kitsune paid for his PC version :D)
That may seem like a really bad deal, but over here those prices are extremely low, other "low priced" and Budget 360 games are $45, and GC games are only for sale in a few shops for their introduction price.
So hey, for me it's a nice deal, 5 games for 40€.

Depends what people toss their way, back in my hometown the Salvo is the only thrift and I have found many games there and make it a point to hit them up everytime I head back there. On the flipside, the salvos in the last two towns I lived in never had many games (probably because of multiple goodwills in each of those towns). If you are passing by one worse that could happen if you stop is that you lose a few minutes of your life.

Tell me about it. The vendors at my local flea markets sometimes have Goodwill stuff - but there's no Goodwill stores anywhere near me. I think the closest ones are in freakin' SAN DIEGO.

I had read here at one point the Sean Kelly's store in chicago was really good. So the other day I used my day of to drive in. Boy, is that place awesome! He has everything from brand new virtual boy games from japan to pc engine imports sealed! I saw alot of good stuff but here is what I bought.
Sengoku - Neo Geo - Brand new $50
Strider Hiryu !&2 Japanese playstation, $25
Shadowgate Classics - GBC - sealed - $10
Puzzle Bobble 99 - PS1 - $15, immaculate condition
and 2 old issues of game informer from 1992.
A quick question for you neo geo experts. MY sengoku cart has 2 labels on it. The sengoku sticker is visible, but there is quite obviously another sticker underneath it, I can make out japanese lettering on the spine but thats it. It doesn't seem that there is a good way to peel up the sengoku label to take a peek. What's up with this?>

Pokemon Card sets $1.00 Each..(36 cards each pack)
I bought the first 15 sets/all the vendor had..He said that he'd have more in 30 minutes.
He had his driver go get a sealed crate of like 50 sets per crate..I was just walking around and they came found me.
So I bought another 11 for $10.00.....My Son collects these with his friends,he just started like 2-3 weeks ago..He's up to over 1400 cards.

I don't want to be a Negative Nancy, but the packaging of those cards look a bit... sketchy. Are you sure they're legit? Because I've come across quite a few bootleg cards that use that same packaging...

Eariler this month I picked up 2 games from Gamestop's final clearance on the gamers day:
NFS Carbon (360) $9.99
Odin Sphere (PS2) $15.99
Picked up Clockwork Knights II (SS) from Game X Change for $7.99 Thursday.
Today I stopped by a Pawn Shop that usually doesn't put out too many new games each week but I must have happended in since it looked like they had been restocking today...
Silent Hill (BL, disc only) $4
Final Fantasy Tactics (BL, complete) $4
Parasite Eve II (BL, complete) $4
Tactics Ogre (complete) $4
But I wish I could still find some $0.49 Chrono Triggers...hell I can't even find one out loose for less than $49.00! Ah well I guess I didn't do too bad on the Tactics Ogre...all the discs look in good shape, manuals good, cases have some small cracks but what can you expect for $4 bucks each.
This was my 3rd FF:T find in a couple months, the last two were found on the same day although both GH and only 1 was complete.

Just got another Famiclone in the mail today. This one is the Power Joy Voyager. It has a base that looks like a gameboy on which you can play some built in Tetris LCD games, or you can put it the cartridge and hook up a controller to play the NES games on the TV. I got it for $5 plus shipping.

Picked up three games today:
International Tennis Tour (SNES) L - $2
Katamari Damacy (PS2) C - $14
FarCry (PC) CIB - $5
I couldn't recall ever seeing Tennis before locally, and to see it as an R1 in the guide is crazy. It must be one of those flukes where they just don't show up often locally or I scan right over them. The Taito logo stuck out so I had to purchase it. :D
Finally I'll get to check out FarCry and play some Katamari.

This is my first post on DP since June 28th - I haven't had internet at home, and I'm waiting for Qwest to send me a new modem. Here's what I've picked up since that last post:
NES:
Caveman Games (cart only) - $2.50
Formula One: Built To Win (cart only, R5) - $2.50
Kid Icarus (cart only) - $2.50
Sky Kid (cart only) - $2.50
Genesis:
Strider (cart only) - $2.50
SNES:
An American Tail: Fievel Goes West (cart only, R6) - $5
Game Gear:
Legend of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse (cart only) - $2.50
DS:
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (complete) - $10
N64 controller (first party, grey) - $2.99
I also found an N64 promo tape in my house that I thought I'd lost years ago, titled "Rayman's Dream Team." It's basically an advertisement for Rayman 2, Rocket: Robot On Wheels, and Tonic Trouble. It's nice to have that back in the collection since I've never seen it in the wild.

The Battle of Olympus
The Guardian Legend With Manual
The Legend of Zelda With Manual & Map
$5
Evander Holyfield's Real Deal Boxing Complete $1
Hogan's Alley Complete $3
Sonic Blast With Case (Game Gear) $2
Super Monaco GP Boxed $1
The IAP on the first 3 NES games was $2 each, I offered $3 for all 3 of them which the seller said he couldn't do but countered saying he'd do $5.
The next 3 games were at a new seller's table that had a page printed up for their new store. I paid the asking price on each game as I though they were reasonable and didn't feel like trying to go lower as to discourage them from getting into the used game part of what they would be selling at their new store.
Super Monaco GP's IAP was a dollar.
Could have been better but not too bad of a day at the flea market. One guy had a Genesis with no games. I asked him about games along with the system and he said a kid just bought another system with about 7 games, sounded like it was another Genesis and most likely little to nothing I would have really had to have.

So ya, got Hot Slots for the nice price of $5.
I thought it was like worth $75 but according to the guide its like $400. Is this true?
I don't know whats on the cart with no lable, my NES isn't hooked up right now so I can't tell, I assume from the number on its an ex-rental, so it's probably Football or something lame.
But ya, if Hot Slots is worth that much I must say this is my greatest find of all time. Yay!
