I understand what you say and frankly I feel the same way. I do know that if that troubles you, you can always close credit cards and bank accounts if there is any problem. If you finish up the hyperdimension I'm interested in the cart and box I know your already working on the box. If you make a manual that would be cool too. Also I like your Secret of Mana 2 I think you did the box for it too, the ntsc us version.

plz keep us posted. thanks.

About the box or manual I can print them myself if you got the files, I think it would be better for me and you.

Yes I read your pm.
But the problem it is because I do not possess paypal account and I do not plan to open it because I do not like the try my number of bank card on the website.

In France the payment and very secure because have pay with checks and I use only it ^^;

But even if I could make the games I could make them in NTSC format (it is not a problem for me) But Box and manual I could only propose them in Pal.

Concerning the box I not not completely finished but I do not think that I would make the manual.

I do not understand very well English thus it is difficult for me to make an English manual.

what computer programs do you use to make the design of the box photoshop & Illustrator?

BTW: if you use photoshop or Illustrator I can finish up the box on my computer, I'm good at graphic design. And if you have trouble translating japanese to english you can always go to the web and look up translation or ask someone who speaks and writes english/japanese for help. I'm sure there are a few members here who can help.

I use the software "photofiltre"

It is easy to use and he is free.

For the manual if I arrive I find has to find scans in 600dpi and A translating Japanese => English

I could possibly make her.

But at present I am occupied with making the manual of FF6 in French

Yes, the translation patch doesn't affect the code on the second chip so it can be left as it is.

Kind Regards, Andy.

Hi I just checked out your thread and I have to tell you that I have been blown away by the creativity of it. I'm interested in these games let me know what the cost are:

Secret of Mana 2
Star Ocean
Terranigma
Bahamut Lagoon
Tales of Phantasia
Fire Emblem

And if possible a fully translated Dragon Ball Z Hyperdimension
WOuld like them in US NTSC versions. Are you located in the UK? LMK

Also what snes carts can be used to make the games above, chances are I can get of hold of them easily.

PS: I know you must be overwhelmed with messages because your pm box is full at the moment. Plz pm me with details regarding my request. thanks. Also I have plenty of RPGs maybe we can agree for some type of deal.

Almost forgot they did release a pal version of DBZ Hyperdimension and its in French if you can get a scan of the front and back of the box you can just type the words in a web translater and get the text in English. Here is an ebay Link:

One had proposed me this translation.

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/6752/essai4r.jpg

But make a translation with an on-line translator. That risks to be really not brilliant :beaten:

For the manual I am going to try to make just the cover.

Somebody could give myself the size?
In centimeter if possible. The unity(unit) used in France.

I've tried PMing you, but your inbox is full. Is there anyway you could find time in the future to do a Starfox 2, Starfox weekends, and F-Zero 2 (the satellaview game) for me? I could even provide donor carts if needed. And while it would be nice, I don't need boxes or manuals.

If you want reference I'm a good buyer, I'm on Assembler and Atari Age of the same screen name. Thanks.

Hell, it looks like twenty ten will be the year of repros. There's been numerous threads in Classic Gaming concerning these. I'll show off mine since it went unnoticed in the December Finds (What It's Worth) thread. Once again, excellent work, b1aCk.

Few days ago, I PMed kogami. The answer was that he only allows payment via checks. Mayby we have got this replys because kogami wants just make repros only for himself, like my friend from polish cart-hacking scene? I guess getting a lot of PMs with a content "Can u mak a repro 4 me??? LOL ^___^" must be frustrating.

Anyway, I discovered on ultimate-consloe that making boxes isn't really as hard as You can think. You have to buy a printer and some kind of paperboard.

Finally, I bought eprom programmer. A want to make Romancing Saga 3 repro, but first a have to read a book about how to read that weird-looking electronical diagrams.

And somethin' that b1aCk would enjoy. I made on my own DQVI ntsc label.
http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/3820/dqvintsclabel.png
It would look better, but I can't find other pics.

I guess a check isn't out of the question, though by far not the most secure way to go about it. :? It just amazes me how many carts I find of F-Zero 2 in people's collection and yet how hard it is to get someone to make one haha. Heck, I can do my own labels and what not, I just need someone to program a chip.

Anyway, eprom burner isn't that expensive. I paid for mine less of 10 bucks and it's working quite good. My FFIII hacked Famicom cart works great.

Yea, I'm talking with him now actually. He'll be making a Starfox 2 cart for me from my Super Famicom Wildtrax (Stunt Racer FX). I asked him if he could do a BS F-Zero 2 for me, and he said he didn't do custom work......even though it says he does on his site. Fun times.....

I don't speak French, but I think the translator does a pretty swell job.

Ok i'm about to go with this thing of repros :2gunfire:
I wanna show you some interesting things and obv i got some questions.:

let's start:
First of all, i end my hands up the cart on the left
opened it and noticed it had sram
i tought it would will be perfect for monster world repro
and in effect the actual monster world IV pcb (dont worrie, it's a loose cart) is very the same (same chips but obv different serial numbers)

it's a very cheap game so if it works, there s another good option to do MWIV
(the game itself sucks so it's perfect since the other good donor carts for mwiv are games like soleil or land stalker etc)
http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/2700/51672063.jpg
ok the question here is:
i need a 2mbyte(16MBit) eprom to do this.
can i use both 16bit/8bit (bus) type right?
what about 27C160 ?
this one would be good?: http://cgi.ebay.it/ST-27C160-UV-EPROM-M27C160-100F1-16M-10pcs_W0QQitemZ250478588339QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_D efaultDomain_0?hash=item3a51aff1b3

ok let's move on the SNES side.

My first attemp will be a nightmare buster repro
it's a shame the game nevere came out since it kick asses.
anyway
http://img697.imageshack.us/img697/326/fotio.jpg
i will use Hat trick hero 2 since the game (again) sucks
and i found a very great cart in a great shape so since it's compatible (and it's cheap) here the way it goes ^^

tech note: the pcb is a SHVC-1A0N-20 and i found it's the same pcb of Super Pinball : Behind The Mask Pal that Kogami assume to work so i think my assumption it's correct.. feel free to give advice or something
Other games that have that pcb are :
Choumakaimura – sonic blastman -Super Pinball : Behind The Mask Pal – Jurassic Park - Street Fighter 2

My next project will be Fushigi no Dungeon 2: Fuurai No Shiren
the game is awesome and there's an english patch for it
http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/6080/fotoew.jpg

(the pcb is pretty similar to the ones used for mmm seiken densetsu etc..
but has a big 256kbit sram)
here i need some advice.
i mean.. i have a 4megabyte rom already patched (so no bigger then original)
so if i can't use a tsop (not yet) i can use :
4 27C801 wired togheter with decoder (brrr)
2 27C160 socketed both side of pcb with some rewire to match pin out

it's possible to use 27C160 as described?

to make a very much more clear work i would know if it's possible to use this pcb instead:
http://img686.imageshack.us/img686/4269/fotovn.jpg
another hirom pcb with 2 maskroms (mmm i guess 2megabyte and 1 megabyte for the smaller one)

my idea is to desolder both maskrom and place the 27C160 x 2 with rewire
and swap the sram from the shiren pcb.
is that possible?
or i doing it wrong?
20kb of txt lol
(sorry) A^_^

yeah i know.
i bought Wonder Project J (as a loose cart) to do that repro too
since there's a patch for my mothertongue.

After Opened em i faced the problem of eepromz placement so if its possible to do those swap it's great for me at now.
Obv the wonder project j has a common pcb so i guess it's easy to find out a crappy game to do what i want .. but this what i got for the moment

Like I said, I haven't made one yet so I'm not sure what it would cost to get a professional full-color photocopy done or what the paper board sells for but I just can't imagine it's really that expensive. I'd also say you probably should have done a regular auction on that Earthbound cart as I've seen them go for crazy prices on Ebay, but of course you'd run the risk of having your listing yanked. XD

Kogami i found out a pic you posted on Ultimateconsole (i don't know if its a work of your, but i bet yes ^^)
anyway:
http://kogami02.free.fr/Divers/PCB_4_Eprom_1.JPG
http://kogami02.free.fr/Divers/PCB_4_Eprom_2.JPG

So basically you put on 4 x 1mbyte eproms (m27c801) on a bj3m-10 that is in fact same pcb of Wonder project (probably differing for sram)
this seems to confirm that

my idea is to desolder both maskrom and place the 27C160 x 2 with rewire
and swap the sram from the shiren pcb.
is that possible?
it's possible.
Am i wrong?

About rewiring.
There's something particular you've done with that or is simple rewiring for matching different pinout btween maskrom and epromz?
why you didn't use a decoder to connect the 4 epromz?

oh and plis say something about sram swapping. <3

kogami
01-25-2010, 02:04 PM
The photo that you put is not complete (the decoder "74ls139" is missing)

it's possible.
Am i wrong?

I think that yes

Kamigami
01-25-2010, 02:31 PM
this is why the pcb adress only two maskrom right?
(the decoder is needed to adress the other two eprom)

so .. what if i use the 27c160 x 2 ?
can i place them in the two socket the pcb have with the normal rewiring?

so .. what if i use the 27c160 x 2 ?
can i place them in the two socket the pcb have with the normal rewiring?

27C160 eproms are DIP42 while normal maskroms are DIP32/DIP36. There are also not enough "pin-compatible" pins in 27C160 to make placing it in the socket and rewiring worthwhile. Once you try it out for yourself, it'll become much clearer.

i forgot to count the pin to notice the difference. :eek 2:

The photo that you put is not complete (the decoder "74ls139" is missing)

I think that yes

so the only way to do that repro is this:
