Recently I have acquired......

-NBA Courtside 2002 (Gamecube): complete for $2

-NFL Fever 2002 (Xbox): complete for $1

-NCAA College Football 2005 (Xbox): complete for $1

-Eternal Eyes (Playstation 1): complete for $1, this is my second copy of this game

-Playstation 2 Dualshock controller: $0.50 at the Salvation Army. Nice cosmetic condition. Bought it figuring there was probably something wrong with it and I confirmed it was non-working. Obviously 50 cents is a pretty small risk to take for the outside chance you might get a perfectly working controller for that price at a thrift.

Also, what's the refurbish disc? Can't find any info about it.

Its a harddrive eraser. Put it in, tell it to go, and wiped XB Harddrive!

Is that a Teacup Yorkie?

He's a chihuahua mix. He's roughly 9 weeks old and literally can't climb up or down stairs because it's too big of a leap. And he is pretty damn hyper but all puppies are that way. But seriously, the dude needs to eat because I can carry him in the palm of my hand....and I have small hands, lol.

You should get a non-working NES toaster, cut some holes and fit it around him for Halloween.

That would be awesome but I don't think he'd let me. He was already bitching about the collar we put on him.

Any chance you're selling those kiosk discs like last time? Or were those just extras?

Also, what's the refurbish disc? Can't find any info about it.

Yes I'll be selling(or trading) all of the xbox disc except the refurbish disc and the sleeve to 1.4(it's a variant). The reburbish disc was used by xbox techs to fix faulty systems(original xbox systems--NOT 360's). But the way it does it is by completely erasing your saved games, soundtracks and custom user settings. It would be a nice trick to play on someone you didn't like, except that it tells you right on the front of the disc what it does. In other words, it's a nice collectible but it's one that will NEVER go into my xbox.

Here's what I got this evening:

NES:
Seicross (w/cart sleeve) - $1
Dirty Harry (w/cart sleeve) - $2.50

PS2:
Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves (complete, non-GH) - $5

Game Boy Color:
Marble Madness (cart only) - $4

GBA:
Open Season (new) - $1.58 at Fred Meyer

(I've got over 250 NES games and the entire Sly Cooper PS2 trilogy now. :))

Mario Teaches Typing

I got the same version you have last year. Cost me a buck. While it's not worth much, it looks pretty cool on display and can serve as an interesting conversation piece.

It's a horror movie that stole its title from a short story written by Stephen King. The story has next to nothing to do with the movie, other than having a lawnmower man.

Total Distortion is a GREAT game! Play all the way through, it's the most creative game of that era.

And I've gotten a LOT of traffic on my YouTube page since I uploaded that video. More people know what it is than I thought would, and everyone else just thinks it's funny. I get a comment sent to my email nearly every day saying "I want this played at my funeral."

Stopped at a church bazaar on the way home this morning. Didn't find any gaming stuff, but I did pick up some goodies. Got a cheapo DVD player with remote for $2. When I hooked it up at home to check it out, I found out that it had a copy of Knocked Up already in it. I also picked up a Dell OEM copy of Windows 98 SE for $5. I am going to install that on my granddaughter's Pentium II laptop that the previous owner put XP on. X_x Last but not least, I got a Sound Blaster Platinum 5.1 Infra Kit. It didn't come with a manual, but other than that it looks complete. It has the card, drive bay unit, remote, cables, and driver disk. That was also $5. Not a bad day.

Picked up lots of goodies yesterday mostly by hitting the thrifts.

The following strategy guides were $1 each:
Spyro Year of the Dragon
Star Ocean Till the End of Time
Parasite Eve II
Radiata Stories
Suikoden V
dot hack//infection
Final Fantasy IX

Now the games:
Intellivision Classic Games (PSX) $2
Dragon Ball Final Bout (Japanese PSX) $3
Goldeneye (N64) $2
Turtles IV Turtles in Time (SNES) $2

Also found a U-Force accessory for the NES, $2.

Got some cool older PC games, CIB, with their appropriate 3 1/2" or 5 1/4" disks:
Conquered Kingdoms $1.91
Space Quest I $2.00
Space Quest Trilogy $1.00
The Colonel's Bequest $1.91
King's Quest IV $1.91

Also picked up an Apple IIc lot for a great price locally via craigslist. It had some decent games as well, also complete in box.

The Black Cauldron (I've been looking for this one for a LONG time!)
Karateka
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Pool of Radiance
Who Framed Roger Rabbit

Windows 98 over XP?

If you mean Win 98 instead of XP, then absolutely. Have you ever tried XP on a Pentium II, 266 MHz? Here is how it works:

1. Turn on power
2. Eat breakfast, lunch, or whatever
3. Computer may be done booting
4. Start your application
5. Visit bathroom
6. Application is probably loaded
7. Now use application while feeling like you are slogging through mud

Don't know about you, but my 3 year old granddaughter does not have that kind of patience. But I must say that she likes her notebook computer better now that I let her decorate the outside of the case with Spongebob Squarepants stickers. I guess if I were really cool, I would just paint the cover to look like good old Spongebob. But then I would probably puke.

Another trip to my new-found thrift store!

The boxed Game Gear was gone, but I ended up taking two NES games and one Genesis game this time.

Bases Loaded (NES, cart only) $.66
Base Wars (NES, cart only) $1.21
X-Men (Genesis, CIB) $1.21

...on my way back to my Wife I passed the books section. For some ungodly reason, I found Volumes 1 and 2 of Family Guy in with the hardbacks. They were 100% complete and damn near mint. I figured they'd be fairly high, but I was surprised...

Family Guy Volume 1 (4 discs, Seasons 1 & 2) $2.12
Family Guy Volume 2 (3 discs, Season 3) $2.12

I love this place!

Arrgh! I had a great find at one of the local Play N Trade stores yesterday, but I am now waaay past my gaming budget for the month! I met with the owner for a business meeting and ended up spending $102 on this lot which included tax and the 10% off card, but I think he cut me a good deal!

Turbo-grafx 16 system with Turbopad controller, switchbox and power cord
Bonk's Adventure (complete with outer box)
Bravoman (in case with instructions and sleeve)
Final Lap Twin (in case with instructions and sleeve)
Neutopia (loose with sleeve)
Splatterhouse (complete with outer box)
Vigilante (complete with outer box)
World Court Tennis (loose with sleeve)

I haven't seen a Turbo in the wild since I sold mine to this guy back in high school for $50, and I couldn't pass it up since I already had eight more Turbo games languishing away unplayed in a box in my hall closet.

Now, to track down copies of Keith Courage and Victory Run, and it'll be just like I never sold the system in the first place...

Yeah, I've read that it was a decent game that (like many other racers on the PS1) hasn't aged well. I've wanted to see how it compares to the other off-road offerings I have for the PlayStation (TNN Motorsports: Hardcore TR, and all three of the Test Drive Off-Road games). As long as it's better than Racing (which offers just slightly more than a Gran Turismo 2 demo), Ford Racing, and Demolition Derby 2, I won't miss the $1.99 I paid.

Found the elusive Wind Waker/Ocarina double set at Gamestop, but I couldn't afford the $40 price tag. :( Perhaps when the economy picks up again.

Went to another thrift store today. Despite a couple grumbles, I did find some keepers.

First the "what the hell" moments... I passed on a boxed Odyssey II in BAD shape with a $65 price tag. I passed on an Atari 2600 with one joystick and Combat for $50. I also passed on an NES with SMB/DH for $45. What are they thinking? They had a copy of Guitar Hero II in box for $20, but the loose 2600 was $50? Seriously....

Anyhow, I came across four items that I kept:
Casino Kid (NES, cart & sleeve) $2
Michael Andretti's World GP (NES, cart & sleeve) $2
Blades of Steel (NES, cart & sleeve) $2

The 40 Year Old Virgin (DVD, 100% complete and mint) $2

All in all, I was pleased with today's grabs. Still bummed about that damn Odyssey II though...

I wonder why it is that Odyssey 2s are so commonly found in the box. I mean, to be perfectly honest I've never known anyone that had a loose one and I've hardly ever seen them for sale without the box. There are loads and loads of other systems that turn up loose, and even more surprisingly (I think) is that it's the newer ones that least often have boxes. Dunno, strange observation I guess.

Ooooh, nice on the Ultimas. Are those IBM, Apple II, C64?

I got some rather odd stuff at a church-carnival flea-market-tent thing last night:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3270/2952402312_f5f9e67c86.jpg

$4.50 worth of random stuff. I've been needing a tape player ($0.50!) and I pulled a 160gb drive out of that silver thing($0.50!!!). I figured it was an external drive, but there was no power cable. And I just can't pass up blank floppies for $0.50. The records were $1 each. Records are more expensive than a tape player... Hmmmm....

But this is what I got excited about:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3289/2952404508_6627f89fea_b.jpg

I needed an NES TV. This one was marked $3, had a composite input too, albeit mono. Plus, it has a headphone jack on the front (again... mono >_<). I talked them down to $2. Now, I'm thinking I should have gotten the one they had for $1, even though it didn't have composite in. Why? The red on this TV only comes in intermittently. When it does, it looks great. Anybody got any ideas on how to fix it? I pulled the cover off and there's two dials, "screen" and "focus." Focus is just that, but what's screen? I don't see any other controls, and the front knobs are just color, tint, and picture, so those just let me change the non-red picture. Also, a knob that switches "ST" off or on. What's ST?

Ooooh, nice on the Ultimas. Are those IBM, Apple II, C64?

It is IBM.

That's why I usually get my televisions for my old consoles from goodwill. Mainly because if it does not work you can return it. = /

Well, neither am I unless there's a good reason for it. I'm just saying I usually do that for the option to do so.

Hit up a flea market this morning. For some reason there were more video game sellers than usual today. Only found one thing that I wanted, though. I picked up 18 Nintendo Power magazines ranging from March/April 1989 - July 1992. Three of them were the strategy guides for Ninja Gaiden II, Final Fantasy and the "4-Player Extra" edition. I got them all for $15. They are in really nice shape for the most part too.

Final Fantasy 9 complete for $5 from the pawn.
Lightspan Calamity for $0.99 at a thrift.

There was not really much at the flea market today, but I did get a copy of Metal Gear Solid for free from one of the game vendors. It was missing disc 1, so the guy let me have it instead of throwing it away. :)
My copy needs a new manual, so this one will come in handy.

You do incredible work. As a deeply rooted Skies of Arcadia fan, I'm eagerly awaiting the next epic project. Thanks for the reply!

Also, the controllers are my favorite part. Nice job!

Ya I was gonna have the logo put on them but it was too small so I did that instead ;p Liked how it came out ;p Don't hold your breath since it's long and far away :P But I will have something else down within a month or so (has to do with skies but not dcs)
