I'm sticking the stuff I received in the last week in this thread. I think some of it arrived in the mail during the last week of November, but I'm not 100% sure.

I've been on a PC Engine kick lately and thanks to the good folks at digitpress, I've spent way more money than I should :)

Firstly, here is a list of PC Engine games I picked up from DP members. Of interest are the arcade card games which are just fantastic. You can also see my Avenue 6 button pad and the PC Engine controller extension cord - finally I can play PCE on the couch.

Secondly, here is my new Turbografx 16, Turbotap, Turbobooster plus and 3 controllers. Although now shown, it did come with the AC Adapter and AV cables. Since all my games are PC Engine games, I don't actually have any software to run on it yet ;)

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s182/c0ldb33r/th_008-1.jpg (http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s182/c0ldb33r/?action=view&current=008-1.jpg)

Thirdly, my new baby. I got a PC Engine GT. It's in wonderful condition. There are no dead pixels and the sound works perfectly. I've very happy about this. I've wanted one of these since I first saw the TurboExpress in an issue of GamePro years and years ago.

Here's a pic of Street Fighter II Dash running on it.

Long AV wires $2.00
4 port radio shack Game selector Switch box (gave to my Dad)

Nes Zelda $1.50
Snes Relief Pitcher $1.50(I never saw this game before)
Nes Orange Zapper $5.00
Right before I found the zapper I saw a guy walking with an Orange and Grey Zapper in his hands..I thought>Where the heck did he find them and who the heck was that...
I scoured the place and didn't see them..

Nes Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt 3.00(These have become hard to find for me)

Power Joy(looks ike famicom cart) ? $1.00

Namco Guncon 2 light guns $10.00 both
Nes Super Mario Bros/DH,Super Mario 3 $5.00
This vendor he had a stack of NES games on the table,(common games)he first says Two For Three on the NES games, then once I made a pile he switched and said Two For Five"sorry"..So I put them all back on the table and bought just two.
The Guncon 2's he said $5.00 each so I pick them up go to pay him and then he says $15.00..Huh???..I put them back where I found them then he says Ok,"give me the 10"..I only bought them in hope I'd get $15.00
Seriously I'd yell half these people to Go!!-----..But they lose a sale with me when they try this BS

I would of bought all the NES games inwhich he would of made one big sale..When I left they were about to close he hadn't sold any..

Most satisfying find in a good long while. :D

I passed on one DC item that interested me. Reason? I didn't know wtf to use it with. It was a MadCatz controller. You set it on a table top and you use a trackball and buttons with your left hand and an analog flight stick with your right hand. Didn't check the price either. Just admired it a bit and left with my stuff.

Edit: It's a Panther DC. There's a thread at atariage with a good picture.

I went back to thrift shop where I found the empty Suikoden II case in the hopes that I'd find the missing disc, or at least some more PS1 games. I had no luck finding any PS1 stuff, however I did find a couple of cart only games in the display case.

Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (GBA)

Pocket Bomberman (GBC)

None of the games had any prices on them. But since I know the cashier, she let me have them for $4 each.

Just about, little less I'd say. But I didn't pay sticker. :D

They gave me 50% of the Stick. One of the games free and 20% off the rest (10% loyalty club [also given for free, they want people that buy older stuff] + 10% off coupon). Except the Genesis games. They were $.99 each already discounted 80-90+%. I came out pretty good... May not be a steal of a deal (some require that to be a 'find') but my hunts have been dry lately and I'm excited I actually found something better than decent. LOL I usually don't post in the finds threads otherwise. Also I wanted to share about the Panther DC. ;)

It had been about a month and I had Saturday off so I headed out to the flea market. I only really visited one vendor though and as usual, Shortround had the goods. I was there fairly early and began by looking over his NES games - nothing new at all. In fact it's been a bit of an NES drought as of late but that's usually because of him picking up new games while out on the week's flea market circuit, and then my rival back in the central valley buying them up.

He had a couple new Japanese Dreamcast games and told me they were two for $5.00, my usual price. Looking through them they were mostly what I had already seen in weeks previous, although many of the sealed copies of Sonic Adventure and Blue Stinger had disappeared. There was a Japanese copy of House of the Dead 2 I passed up, a sealed Japanese Crazy Taxi which I left, and a couple other games that really didn't stand out. (although I always get a kick out of seeing the Japanese version of what became CART Flag To Flag, as the US release was the first Dreamcast game I ever played, and still one of my favorites) I ended up grabbing four titles that looked interesting or that I had already known.

DC - Get Bass (JPN, complete)
DC - Net de Tennis (JPN, complete)
DC - Sega Rally Championship 2 (JPN, complete)
DC - Shenmue (JPN, complete)

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2008-12-07(02).jpg

Yeah, Get Bass is Sega Bass Fishing, Sega Rally 2 and Shenmue had US releases, but they were complete and minty. Sega Rally 2 was a reseal (no spinecard) but I cracked it open there and the spinecard and everything were inside. Net de Tennis is a cutesy 2D sprite driven tennis game. It's a lot of fun, almost like "kawaii pong." Also can anyone tell me what's up with the "SAMPLE" thing on Shenmue? He had another copy that didn't have that, both are identical, so I took the "SAMPLE" one.

Digging through one of his many boxes of random stuff I came across a Densha de Go! train controller for the PlayStation. The gearing lever was bent down and out, with the plastic around the shaft cracked. It still moved fine though so I set it on the table and continued to look. Shorty and his brother (who is a crackup) both said, almost at the same time, that it was a dollar. It's like they wanted to get rid of it and as I was leaving I told him what it was, he had no idea but I told him if he sees any other odd controllers that I would buy them gladly. I ended up bending the shaft back to the proper position (cracking the plastic a bit more) and then glued the plastic in place. There are still cracks in the plastic but it feels and works fine. I also reduced the spring tension while I had the controller open, was a touch too sensitive for me. Further down in the same box I found a dark green replacement Dreamcast shell, complete and unused in box. I've had my main Dreamcast in one of these for years and love it. I know awhile ago they were pulling serious value on eBay as they had become impossible to find - sharp contrast to when they were first for sale. Dunno what I'll do with this one but that it was actually what was in the box was quite a surprise.

PS1 - Densha de Go! controller (JPN)
DC - Replacement shell (dark green) (box not pictured)

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2008-12-07(01).jpg

I went through his small box of Sega Master System games and picked out a few loose titles. All but Cloud Master are for my brother for Christmas.

SMS - After Burner
SMS - Cloud Master
SMS - Shinobi
SMS - Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2008-12-07(04).jpg

Upon asking if he had any Atari left (which I know he does) he presented me with a giant cardboard box, dumping it out on the tables. He said $1.00 each, as usual, unless I wanted to buy at least 20 or so, then they would be $0.50 each. I started going through them, tossing the ones I didn't want back in the box. I went through three giant boxes this way, years of dust and light insect remnants floating into the air as each one was dumped out. I ended up picking out 23, about half of them for me (titles I didn't have, variations I didn't have, or cleaner versions of stuff I have) and the others for my oldest younger sister for Christmas. I set her up with one of my Atari 2600 lots over the summer and considering she still plays it, I figured I'd beef up her collection a bit. Nothing rare here but good games just the same.

He counted it up and said $27.00 - more than fair. However he gave me back $14.00 change so it was $26.00, which is usually how it goes with him, he always tries to shave a couple more bucks off for me. A pretty decent haul all together, I'll have to say. :)

Your Mileage May Vary on this. Some Zellers are doing it and are pretty cleaned out. Others are aware and have corrected it. My Zellers was pretty cleared out, but since they were honoring it, I was able to price match at Wal-Mart with the flyer and my receipts. Here's my walmart receipts for some possible leverage in getting the deal:

In my experience, Japanese "SAMPLE" items are basically full, not for resale versions. I have several "SAMPLE" SNK soundtracks and they all say that on the inner ring of the disc, or they have a sticker over the UPC code on the back cover or the OBI card (to prevent said resale.)

Also, I hate Nesmaster right now.

I'm going to Zellers after work to scout for deals. There's a few of them in my city. If I see anything good I'll pick up some extras but I wouldn't hold my breath. I expect everything to be pretty well picked through.

I went to mine today and I tried to price match at Wal-Mart, struck out at both even with the receipts that Nesmaster posted, so don't kill yourself to check them out.

How did you strike out? Do you mean you struck out at Zellers too? That's BS. If it's in their flyer, it's in their flyer. I'll appeal all the way to the store manager if need be. I mean, for deals like that you'd be crazy not to.

Oh, or do you mean you struck out in that they didn't have anything left?

I mean struck out as in there were signs posted retracting the ad saying that it only applied to Greatest Hit titles.

I just got back from Zellers :)

I had to go to three stores to get the deal. The wife and I went to the first Zellers and it only applied to "titles on the bottom shelf with the spines facing out". That's never a good sign. The titles were all total crap. We did buy the cat a cat-bed for Christmas though ($8.00).

Scratch that, we drove to the second one. Again, total bullshit. I was standing in front of the 360 games and asked the sales girl which titles were included. She looked at me with this bitchy look and said, "...none of thoooossseeee...". Bitch. She walked me ALL THE WAY TO THE OTHER SIDE of the electronics section to the bin. Great. Bin games. You can imagine the types of games that were included. Basically the stuff you can get at Blockbuster for $14.99, but they were price for $40.00. Screw them. We did buy a cat-food ball toy for the cat though ($7.00) - the cat's making out like a bandit - she's got two things and I've got dick-all.

Finally, the third Zellers. I went straight for electronics. I looked at the 360 games. There was no shelf at the bottom with games on it. There was no bin in the corner with shit games... a glimmer of hope. I ask the girl which games are included. She obviously has no idea, calls someone on the telephone, they don't know. I hear someone say, "what does the flyer say ... well then it must be all games $19.99 to $59.99".

WE HAVE A WINNER! I browse around a little and pick out a few games. I didn't want to clean them out as they had pretty limited stock. I might go back later this week and pick something else up just for reselling purposes.

I got:
Gears of War 2 - $15.00
Gears of War 2 - $15.00
Grand Theft auto 4 - $15.00
Soul Calibur IV - $15.00

I'm giving the second Gears of War to my brother-in-law for Christmas. The wife got something too, some lip chap or something. Apparently it tastes like pop (coca cola, fanta, root beer).

edit: Shit, my wife just called and apparently my brother-in-law doesn't have a 360, I would have gotten something different instead

According to their flyer (http://director.flyerservices.com/HBC/postalcode.aspx?banner=ZELL&language=EN) it's going on until Friday December 12th. I might stop in tomorrow again. I don't want to snap up all their stock - I'm a sucker that way.

The real problem is finding a Zellers that doesn't limit the deal to shit games.

yeah thats what I'm worried about. In my city we only have 1 Zellers, so If they say "no" then well...tough luck I guess. I can't afford to pay 60 dollars a game with bills and just straight up money troubles right now. To be able to pick up gears 2 and fallout for 30 dollars would be a godsend.

The Chrono Trigger CD was given to me by a Gamestop employee that takes care of me. Finally found a cart-only copy of Strider ($2.10) and my two year long search for a nice copy of Suikoden II is over. Pristine condition. $110. That leaves one last game on my want list for the Playstation.

I've never even heard of Zeller's before. But if they have more deals like that I'd love to get in on the action. But that will never happen unless they bring them to Maryland.

Hey I stopped at Zellers again.

I'm selling a few of the games. Yes, I know I'm trying to make a profit on them, that's kind of the point, I basically want to give people a decent deal on a new, sealed game right before Christmas but also get a few games for free so I can give them out as Christmas presents. If you don't like it, don't purchase, but don't BAWWWWWW about it ;)

http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1475493

If those prices or shipping are high let me know, I'm usually a buyer not a seller. I based shipping on the Canada Post website.

I hit up Zellers to check out the deal. Walk up to the clerk and asked about it but she just points at a bin gives me a stupid smile and says merry christmas. I said "the flyers says regular price 19.99-59.99 dollars. the bin is filled with 10 dollar games" she then says "they used to retail for 59.99" and I'm like "yeah...5 years ago, I wouldn't buy this game for 9.99 so why would I buy it for 15" she says nothing but looks at me like I just told her I like to fornicate with barn yard animals. After that I said "maybe you guys should be a little more clear with your ads" and walked out.

I'm not gonna try for the price match at future shop and walmart. I just thought why should walmart/future shop have to pay for zellers being stupid.

I hit up this other forum, its about deals you can find here in canada. Apparently some guy bought 82 games from zellers just for re sale. Yet I...who would only want 2 to play...can't get the deal...funny how that works.

I did check out the pawn shop next door and bought Grandia 3 for the PS2 and Capcom vs. SNK 2 for the PS2 for 5 dollars each. So it wasn't all bad, I just would rather of got Gears 2 and Fallout. Its alright though.

Just got Bounty Bob Strikes Back for Atari computer in the mail from DaveD.

http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk153/colbiwan/0812finds/bountybobstrikesback.jpg

I've wanted to play this since I was a kid. Miner 2049er was my favorite game that I had back then.

I also got this Pelican Case at Goodwill. Oh yeah it came with a dreamcast, 2 controllers, and crazy taxi. But I just got it cause I thought the case was cool. It is made to hold a few different types of systems, like n64 and I think original playstation. It was $18.98 with my club goodwill discount.

It just has the Pelican logo on the front. It is designed specifically to hold a dreamcast or n64(I think others but have not checked it out yet). It has cut-outs shaped for them to fit with out moving.

Well, Zellers update.

I tried stopping again tonight. Different employee was working.

I went and told her I wanted some 2 for 30 games and started picking them out. She was a little hesitant and said that she didn't think these games were included. I told her that I had bought games from this case last night and that these games were included.

She went and rang them up and they rang up at full price. She said she had to check with the manager, I told her that was fine.

I hear her talking with the manager about 20 feet away, and he gets all excited saying "ABSOLUTELY NOT! ABSOLUTELY NOT! ABSOLUTELY NOT! DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THOSE GAMES COST?!? ABSOLUTELY NOT!" He came over and I explained the ad said $19.99 to $59.99 games and that I had bought them before. He said that I shouldn't have been allowed to and that the only eligible games were games from "the bin". Shit. the bin.

I asked him to show me any games from that bin that were $59.99 and he said he couldn't because they "were sold out of them". Bullshit. By this time he had calmed down and said, "listen, I know kijiji is telling people to come to this store because of the deal, but we're a small Zellers and can't afford it".

He's got a point. It's a crappy little store in a poor part of town that no one ever visits. So, while I could have pressed the issue, and probably quite successfully, I decided that I would just walk away and enjoy the few games that I did get.

My wife compared me to Icarus. I flew too close to the sun. My wings of wax melted and I had to walk back to my car in a slushy snow storm empty handed.

There is one guy on Craigslist that has been selling that hard case with a Dreamcast and some controllers for a few weeks now.
