Penguin Famiclone With AC Adaptor, A/V Cord, Controller, Gun & 111 In 1 Cart - $1

A buck was the asking price, I like how the picture for "Donkey Kong" is from a Donkey Kong 64 Guide :)

Genesis 1st Party 6 Button Controller In Box
Mortal Kombat II Guide (Brady Games, Tattoos Still Intact)

$2

Saw this stuff with a Genesis ($5) & some Genesis Games ($3 each). I though it was $5 for all of the Genesis stuff from the sign, only a few sports games & Sonic in the pile. When the lady told me how much and offered me all of the Genesis stuff for $15 I offered two for what I got and she bit after thinking it over for a few seconds.

All I can say is that I've had one up on ebay for like two bucks with a few dollars shipping for almost a month, and nobody's bought it from me. It also got no bids when I put it up for 99 cents. A cool item that nobody is looking for.

Good to know. Good thing I don't plan on selling it.

Disc only Vagrant Story - $10
Knuckles Chaotix - $3
Raiden III - $5, Syberia II - $2, Driver & Allied General - $1/per, Raiden Trad -$3

Halo 3 helmet (top portion only) - $3
You're Playing with Power NES poster - free

Overall, two decent hauls this week. I passed on quite a bit today; I have to read up some more on PS1 and SNES values before I go out next week.

Nothing remarkable turned up yesterday after a ton of sales and a few thrifts. I'm mostly posting to give perspective; we don't always find great stuff. The things w/ weird prices are from thrifts, rest from sales.

It was an EXHAUSTING and EXCITING day at the flea market.
http://ryaan1234.googlepages.com/finds060709.jpg
Chrono Cross has only Disc 2. It was $1. I needed the case/inserts.
Normality, Resident Evil 2, Anticipation, and Back to the Future were $1 each. I got Batman Returns and Mario Kart 64 for $3 each, Space Chase was $0.50, and the Simpsons game and Call of Duty 4 were $4 each. The 2 CDs, 4 Non Blondes and "Rhythm Stick" were $1 for both. It's interesting, the Rhythm Stick CD was some sort of mail order thingy for DJs.

http://ryaan1234.googlepages.com/finds060709-2.jpg
I finally found a usable LCD for my portable NES project. The smaller 5.6" LCD was $1 and it's in rough shape. The bigger one was $10. The Fostex tracker thingy was $30 and I can get around $80-100 for it on eBay. I might keep it and use it. I dunno.

The Ti-89 was $10. I'm really excited about that. :) :) :)

Also, Basketball 2 was $1.50.

http://ryaan1234.googlepages.com/finds060709-3.jpg
I got this "Flybox" by BG Systems for $15. Apparently it's some high quality flying/driving joystick simulator thingy for PC. It's new price was over $3000 O_O so I guess it's a nice thing. It's definitely sturdy and well made. I might try it out soon. Has anyone seen one of these things? It looks like something out of Star Trek.

EDIT: I thought the original price was $495, but I found the original manufacturer's site and the price is actually around $3200!!! Holy crap!

Not much in the way of garage sale finds for me this weekend. I picked up a Game Boy Color w/ Rugrats Movie and a Tetris handheld at one sale for a buck each.

At another sale, I spotted a box of various games (xbox, genesis, NES), and then recoiled in horror as I discovered someone must've left it out in the rain. Everything was completely soaked. :( However, I did find a moisture-free copy of Frogger's Adventures for the Gamecube (CIB) separated from the rest by a plastic bag, so I picked that up for another buck.

I also checked out a local Play-n-Trade for the first time, unfortunately it seems like they use Ebay for all their pricing. It was neat seeing a copy of Spider-Man for 32X in person, even if it was $110 (loose too). Ended up leaving empty handed.

Edit: And with this update, I'm up to over 2000 games

A lot of good stuff for Sunday, but before I start, I'd like to mention I got to haggle with an 8 year old kid over the Genesis lot. It was rather amusing since I had tried to haggle with his mom (she offered me half price for the Genesis lot if I took the kid :D ), but when I tried to haggle her, she told me that her son was selling it. I asked his price, he said $10, I offered $5 and he shot back right away with $7. I paid his price, rather impressed that he didn't back down and instead haggled back. Smart kid.

Genesis lot with 2 controllers, hookups (not pictured) and the following games: Sonic 1, Sonic Classics, Vectorman, Frogger, Gunstar Heroes, Taz in Space, Primal Rage, Toy Story, Jurassic Park, Krusty's Super Fun House, Sonic Spinball, MK2 and Tiny Toons Buster's Hidden Treasure. - $7

Suikoden (disc only) - $4 (Anyone have a box & manual for this?)

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD/ RE5 Theme codes for the 360 - $3 (sweet deal, costs 1450 points otherwise, I got them for 240)

System Shock cd rom version - $2

Guitar Hero Aerosmith Bundle x3 (2 bundles not pictured, 360 versions) and Guitar Hero 3 (360) - $30

Lot of 3D0 games including: Need for Speed, Road Rash, Space Ace, CPU Bach, Shockwave, Microcosm, Theme Park, and Immercenary - $20

ehh, I have a minty BL one already, and these days, the Network adaptor should sell for more ha...and I just had to grab the FFVIII. I know it's worthless, but it was in great shape, and I just can't bear to leave good PSX games in the hands of...well, whoever it would have been in the hands of! When I looked at it, it WAS perfectly mint, but the kid who sold it to me trapped the disc in the frickin jewel case...dude did it like 3 times to 3 discs while checking them before I snapped and grabbed it from him HA! I was like, "PLEASE GOD LET ME DO IT!" Luckily I think only one got a little scratch, but it's still scary -_-

This just showed up at my door for $25 off CL. Emailed the guy last night, couple more emails this morning and he wanted to drop it off tonight after work and golf. Just got a call 20 min. ago and he brought it by early.

Can't quite make out the good stuff? Well, nothing spectacular, but I picked out the more interesting bits.

http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/finds165b.jpg

He'd listed the games in his ad, but no pic so I was just hoping they didn't turn up as loose or burned copies. No mention of the guides, so that's a nice surprise. Couple memory cards in a little holder I haven't seen before, 6 controllers, and only other thing of note is the Crash Warped has the lenticular insert/cover that I didn't know about. Oh, and he was the original owner for most of this stuff.

I went to a flea market this weekend. Saw a lot of overpriced games and a lot of sports games. I was able to find a vendor selling a few boxed NES games. A lot of them were in pretty bad condition and were bad games (Ex. Home Alone with a sunfaded/torn box). But I did find a couple of pretty good games in pretty good condition. So I picked up Mappy Land and Kiwi Kraze both with original boxes for $8. My first NES boxed games WOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I've been on a quest for Lightguns and accessories so that my kids can play over the summer and hit the jackpot today:

http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/3001/img5486p.jpg (http://img4.imageshack.us/i/img5486p.jpg/)

MadCatz Xbox lightguns (2) - for all those TWO xbox games that actually support them
Nuby "The Heater" gun for PSX
Namco gun for PSX
Nyko "Cobra" lightgun for PSX and Saturn (dual jack)
Radica "Gamester" controller for Xbox
Dreamcast VMU's (blue)
Pokemon Yellow for Gameboy (not pictured) for my son

I actually got a really good deal on these from the guys at the Movie Trading Company, which is surprising. If you add up all the prices in the pic, they add up to just about $65 with tax, which due to my difficulty in finding these guns anywhere locally, I was willing to pay. But wait! When I walked into the store, there were no guns to be found at all, in any cases, wall displays, anywhere. So I looked behind one of the counters and there were two boxes of multicolored accessories and guns. I asked about them "Are these for sale?" and they said they've taken them out of the cases because no one wants them and they've had them forever. I go through them and pick the ones in the picture out and take them to the register where the manager starts to ring me up - he was the one going through the box with me and identifying them, etc. I said "so, if you want to get rid of all these, how about a discount?" and he says he'll see what he can do. He scans the blue Saturn gun and says "this one's free, it doesn't even register in our system". Sweet! He then proceeds to take between $2 and $4 off of everything else in my basket. I end up with all this stuff for under $40, including a 30 day warranty against defects. All in all a great deal, and I'm heading upstairs to check them out right now!

It's a cell shaded game where you play as an alien that can take over people's bodies. It's nice and weird and I've been wanting a copy myself. You can get it pretty cheaply if you know where to look and it's definitely worth a play if you like strange games like Katamari Damacy and Mister Mosquito.

The gamer at Movie Trading Co. said that the guy who brought it in said the same thing - that you can totally dominate Halo with that thing. I'll have to try it out tomorrow, but I can say that it is very comfortable in your hands, the button layout is great and the overall feel of the controller is balanced and nice. I'll report back later with a real review.

What two Xbox games work with light guns?

The only ones I know of are Silent Scope Complete and House of the Dead III. I tried SSC tonight and it does work, but not very well ( I think this is the games limitations, not the controller). I'll try the HOTDIII tomorrow and see if it functions better.

I just got back from a week long Alaska cruise. I saw some beautiful sights, but near the end of the trip, I was itching to play some games again. Anyway, I went thrift hopping today and found a couple of things at Value Village.

PS1 Games (2.99 Each)

Pac-Man World

102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue

A Bug's Life

Frogger

They're all complete, but extremely scratched up. Unfortunately, Pac-Man World won't load, so I have to find a cheap place to get it resurfaced.

I also picked up Nintendo Power's official guide for Pokemon Gold and Silver. It was free because VV has a deal where if you buy 5 books, the cheapest one is free. The four other books I actually paid for was the complete series of the R.O.D (Read or Dream) manga.

More penny guides to compliment the other stack:

Super Mario Galaxy

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Madworld

There was more but I already used a bunch to trade into a local store.

Ok, what the "beep"? This is my fourth 3DO found in the wild and the third in the last year and a half. How come I can never find a CD-I, Turbo Grafix or Neo Geo(any of them) system? I'm like a 3DO magnet. This one was in pristine condition, as if it's hardly been used. It didn't have a controller(grrrrrrrr) but I checked in the store to make sure it powered on and the cd tray had a worthless golf game inside. Oh well, atleast the game was free.

Yesterday, picked up a Skull & Crossbones arcade kit. I received it in a trade for my Jaguar and a few games. It includes:

game board
marquee
control panel
and a PDF manual

I also traded for a few arcade tokens (various places) and some extra joys (including a Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga anniversary stick) and buttons.

When I got Little Nemo, I could only see the phrase "Dream Master" on the cart. I thought it said "Gem Master." When I inquired about the game and the employee said "Oh, that's Dream Master," I nearly crapped my pants. Not a rare game, but it's the first time I've ever seen it in the wild.

I'm a bit confused on Little Nemo. My PnT sells it for about $15, and it goes for a bit online, but the place I found it at had it for $2. Oddly, that place was a game-specialty shop at a flea, with market-value prices. What's more accurate, $2 or $15?

I checked online and it generally goes for $5-9 cart-only. While $2 is more accurate, I'd say both are in the extremes.

That's odd, I sold a CIB copy for like ten bucks a while back.

In my opinion, $5 is a good price for the game. It's good but not incredibly rare. I guess the demand went up after The Happy Video Game Nerd reviewed the game.

Well, my $5 copy is only in C-grade condition. Label and cart are a bit scratched.

I've seen two TurboGrafx this year at my local PnT. One came with the TurboBooster, and one came CIB. I picked up a Samurai Ghost HuCard just after the second one was traded in, but didn't have the money for the CIB Grafx before it was snagged by another local collector.

On the other hand, I also got my 3DO from the same store last year for $250, including 2 controllers and 25 games. It's the only time I've seen a 3DO in the wild though.

I found little nemo for 50 cents at a swap meet earlier this year, and it's actually a pretty fun game. You should try it out.

My Photobucket's back online, so here's some finds!

Yesterday:
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-06-10.jpg
Kentucky Fried Movie + The Coroner DVDs - $3 for both.
Photoshop Elements 3.0 - $2
Laugh Track: Secret Agent - $1 (taped shut but the disc is fine)

I actually own the only other release in this series: Laugh Track Night of the Living Dead. The DVD has the original audio and a "funny" track. And by "funny" I mean making people speak like characters out of a Dave Chapelle show... without any sort of humor. NotLD was horrible, so I'm not really expecting much out of this.

Today:
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2009-06-11.jpg
Alien Virus (PC DOS game, new) - .50
Corel Draw 9 (OEM), Collateral (Movie soundtrack), Dracula Unleashed (PC DOS) - $3

I loved Collateral so I had to buy this. Corel Draw... I'm gonna see if I can sell it, but since it's OEM, I'm not sure if I'll be able to. I got Dracula Unleashed because I heard it was pretty good. They had some PS2 games, including Dance Factory (which was mint and was priced at $5) but I decided to leave it behind because it's not really worth that much. Anyway. The booth owner told me that they were going to unload more stuff tomorrow morning so I may head there and see what else I can get.

Nothing today, just the unusual $35 lightgun and $45 "Guitar Hero" style plug-in game at Goodwill. No idea what's going on with that.

I'm hoping my copy of The Wizard on LD comes in tomorrow...

I hit up Value Village and someone must have been an atari fan... piles and piles of games, 3 consoles, 7...yes 7 power cables for an Atari 2600/Jr and tons of controllers. Sadly though I only picked up 2 power cables, i only needed 1 and the other is a spare just in case i find another Atari without cables. The games weren't anything to get excited about. Controllers felt very loose. and the Atari Jr consoles (which there was 3 of) were 59.99 each...wow.
