Uru Complete Chronicles is worth a few bucks, but there's actally a lot of "defective" discs. Certain disc drives can't read them. I bought a copy knowing that, and it turned into a headache when the seller refused to send it because of the defect. I eventually found a less informed seller, and found a DVD drive that read the discs. Try yours in at least two drives if you intend to sell it.

I was thinking of giving it away at GameTZ's freebie board, or tossing it in with a random eBay sale, instead of selling it. Myst games aren't worth much of anything. :)

Went to Gamestop for the B2G1 sale. First GS I went to put the stickers on the inside of all the cases, so I didn't shop there. Picked up these guys:

Condemned (free)
Riddick: Dark Athena (map code was unused!)
Army of Two

Cost about $69.

I got Sega Rally Championship for the Saturn, $4. Goodwill also had a bunch of 5200 games, but no 5200 in sight.

Also found The Sims 3 for $20, but I had already bought it, so I passed on it.

Isn't Sega Rally Championship one of those Saturn games where you can put in a music CD and have it play it during gameplay?

Dont you hate that when it happens? I always find a big loot of games but no system to go with them.

Goodwills near me put the day it's received on the price tag themselves, and the date on the games were all 6/17.

Why take the system and take none of the games? Even at $3 each, why not just buy one to make sure it works?

I got an urge to check out my target while i was out getting a redbox dvd, i was hoping to find that mortal kombat vs dc. I did not find that but i did get guitar hero III for 360 for $7.48, they had a load of them. I think they must have just reduced it because it was at either 15 or 19 for a while, they had the mortal kombat but still 29, they also had high school musical 3 dancing game with mat for 9.99, lol.

Im not saying I dont buy the games if I dont find the system. I usually buy the games but I would be much happier if the system was included. Especially if its something uncommon like CDi, Turbografx or 3DO.

Also, here is the loot I got recently.. without the system LOL

Championship Soccer
Pete Rose Baseball
Outlaw
Fire Fighter
Atlantis
Riddle of the Sphinx
Venture
Super Football
Porkys
Solaris
Space Attack
Astroblast
Dodge 'em

All for the A2600, 99 cents each. Not bad.

Here's what I got this evening:

SNES:
Aerobiz Supersonic (cart only) - $1

PS2:
Ford Racing Off-Road (new) - $5

Aerobiz is obviously the score of the day here (although Ford Racing Off Road puts me at 50 PS2 racing titles). The cart is in pretty good shape aside from a few Hastings rental stickers. There's no Hastings around here (and tmk, there never was), and whenever I see a cart with rental stickers from an out of state store that isn't in SW Washington, I figure one of the previous owners acquired it online or just took it with them whenever they moved from the area the store was in. However, I always wonder for a moment if there's a more interesting story there that I will never know about.

Regarding the 5200 talk, the last time I saw one at a thrift, there were no games to be found. And whenever I see 5200 games in the wild, there's no system. Go figure.

I won a boxed Atari 7800 with 13 loose games yesterday on ebay for $21. Would have gone for a lot more I think, but the $50 shipping probably scared people away. Luckily, I live in the same city so shipping doesn't count.

I found the Sega Saturn for $10 (came with all cords and controllers and had a game in it, tested and working) and Star Trek for the NES for $2 at the first Good Will. At the second one I got Killer Instinct SNES for $2, Rainbow 6 and Nightmare Creatures II for the Dreamcast at $2 each and NES Play Action Football and Win, Lose or Draw CIB for the NES at $1 each. Also grabbed E.T., Christmas Vacation, Dawn of the Dead and The Wizard for my VHS collection at $1 a piece.

Met up with a really nice dude at his comic shop who has been collecting games for years (he has a GIANT collection) and bought an Intellivision III with a bunch of games for $30 total.

Headed to Savers now...

Not a bad day, I may post pics later:

Loose Atari 7800 w/ 2 joysticks, paddles, cords, and 6-7 common 2600 games plus Ms. Pac Man and Pole Position II for the 7800 - $4 (It doesn't seem to be working at the moment, I'll have to open it up and take a look).

Loose NES with 2 controllers and cords, SMB 1,2,3, Zelda 2, Gradius, Dr. Mario and a few other commons - $4

Loose Sega Master System with 2 controllers, broken 3d glasses (the "arms" are broken, haven't tested the glasses themselves yet), The Ninja, Zaxxon 3d, Afterburner, Great Baseball - $6

All three systems from the same generation found on the same day, kinda weird. Plus, I've never tried a SMS or 7800 before, so I'm excited about that.

First sale I went to on Friday as it advertised video games. I got to the sale late (probably about 8:20) and I saw some newer stuff PS2/Xbox/PC games and a PSone system at $5 that a younger kid was looking at when I got to the sale and bought. I'm sure this was mostly why video games were advertised but I saw the 2600 box right in front of a different table and offered $5 for it.

The girl at this sale said she wasen't even sure if it worked and said I could have it for a buck instead of the $2 it was marked.

Animal Crossing (Complete, PC, No Memory Card)
Super Mario Sunshine (Complete, PC)
Kirby Air Ride (PC, No Game Disc)

$5

Same house I got Pikmin & Paper Mario: TTYD at last year. Each game was marked $3, took $5 for both and let me have Kirby since they couldn't find the game disc inside after checking the system. I got an orphan Kirby Air Ride from Hollywood Video so this was nice to find :D

x2 1st Party Dreamcast Controllers Each With A VMU
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX

$3

Dreamcast Controllers were each marked $1 along with a generic one I passed on. They had a Gameboy Color (2 Color system yellow and something else) in carrying case with a link cable, some Taz Mania GB game, Mickey Mouse: Magic Wands! I think & Zelda all marked $10. I offered $5 for it and the DC controllers to which the lady said she had to ask a guy (who was busy cooking hot dogs on the grill) when she told him my offer he just said "no" and turned right back around to what he was doing lol I told the lady I was just mostly interested in Zelda and couldn't warrent paying that so she offered what I got for $3 (she must have been his wife).

Everything I'm posting this week, I'm posting in the order I found it and by the time I found this stuff it was about noon. I saw a box with some kids books and this video game stuff. I offered $2 for the box minus the books. This is probably the worst spread of NES games I've ever seen lol

V-Tennis (Complete) - .25

Saw this with no price, beside it was a box of CDs for .25 each or 5 for a dollar. I picked out 3 CDs and got them with V-Tennis for a buck. I shouldn't have bothered picking this up but I'm a sucker for long cases and it's in perfect shape.

http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/3789/yardsales62009.th.jpg (http://img37.imageshack.us/i/yardsales62009.jpg/)

Game Gear With NBA Jam, Coplifter III & A Random AC Adaptor - $3

This was the only thing I picked up today (Saturday) With it raining off and on this morning & afternoon. I stopped by a few sales in town that are addresses I've never been to shortly after 11 this morning when the rain let up some. Marked $5, system wasen't working so I offered $2 which was countered with $3 which was good enough for me as I don't have Coplifter III.

(Almost) Non Find BS

I went to about 60 (largely in part thanks to two decent sized street sales) yardsales this weekend and was out Friday for almost 5 hours total. I also forgot to mention I got The Sims on PC for .25 IAP at a sale which I already gave to my niece and didn't take a picture of.

http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll314/JYakapucci/Finds.jpg

The first thing I grabbed was the Chrono Cross 'music selection' disc. Unfortunately there is damage to the front of the case, but the disc is beautiful. Then I picked up the Soul Reaver music disc which is still sealed, the Street Fighter III, Double Impact and the Lunar preorder puppet for a grand total of $9. The puppet is also sealed, but unfortunately the box has some damage. Still not a bad day.

The Calexico Wal-Mart is awful about clearance games. Sure, they have Singstar Amped for $6. But then they have Fallout 3 Collector's Edition for the 360 and PS3 for $75 in the clearance area. Buh?Can't be as bad as the Tucson Wal-Mart, which still has Madden 05 and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, both for the PS1, for the low price of $29.88 each!

Infamous Official Strategy Guide - Seen this sitting amonst a pile of overpriced PS3 games and it looks brand new. It even still has the poster with the island maps on the back.

Gran Turismo (Playstation) - I've seen this plenty of times before but the disc is always scratched to hell. This one is in excellent condition and was cheap so I couldn't resist.

Descent (Playstation) - Cheap (£2.50) and in good condition. I'd never played this before.

Game Boy Color - This is lovely, mint condition, not a scratch on it. £12, which is not bad.

Metal Gear Solid 2, R-Type Final and SSX3 (PS2) - These were all for sale for £1.99 each, and they're all in perfect condition. I was extremely pleased... until I noticed that MGS2 has two manuals inside. One for MGS2 and one for Rez for PS2! Nooooooooo.... the thought that Rez in perfect condition may have been sold to someone else hurts... it hurts so much... :(

Time Crisis 4 and Guncon 3 light gun (PS3) - £17.99 for the game and gun, which is a pretty good price. I've seen the gun on sale for more without the game!

Transformers Animated: The Game (DS) - A surprisingly good DS puzzle game, and only £5.99 on Play.com.

I had a pretty good weekend.

Started on Friday when I stopped in at Value Village. I walked out with around $40 in purchases. For $3 a piece I picked up 6 PSX games (including a mint Marvel Vs. Capcom), 3 sealed Nintendo Brand N64 accessories (2 Controller Packs and a Transfer Pack), Lady Bug for Colecovision and $3 sealed Perfect Darks.

On Saturday I snagged over 100 Nintendo Powers (from issue 12-150 with very few missing issues) for $50. I love reading through those so I was super pumped about that one.

On my yard sale runs I snagged a copy of WWF Steel Cage for NES ($3). I've been looking for a copy of that for ages. A complete copy of Darklord for PC (still has all of the 5 1/4 floppies as well as what I think are 3.5 floppy backups for $2), History Channel: Civil War($5), Super Paper Mario($10), 6 boxed 2600 games ($10) and a GameCube (Metroid Prime, Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, all hookups and a Memory Card 251 for $5).

Wow, the Guncon 3 is that hard to find? I keep seeing one at a store I hit regularly, but I never bother picking it up since I already have plenty of light guns I don't use.

Today I bought an Apple Time Capsule Wi-Fi 500GB Hard Drive for $19.81. Of course, when I get home and open the thing up, there's no Time Capsule inside. :grrr: There's a Western Digital external HD with no freakin' power supply in the box instead. Dammit, I wish I would have checked the box first. It was sold 'as is', so I'm screwed. Hopefully I can scrape up a compatible power supply and get some use out of this thing.

Last weekend wasn't that great, because I didn't have any money on me to look at any garage sales. However, I did have plenty of credit saved up at Gamestop, so I did at least get something:

- Pokémon Emerald (GBA. Loose in very good shape): $28 after stacking some discounts

What makes the deal even better for me was the previous owner's save file had plenty of worthwhile Pokémon that I'll be transfering over to my copy of Pokémon Platinum soon.

I wish I would have known about that sale =(, I traded my 20 unreleased neo geo games, 40 nes protos, the only copy of mother 64, and a proto of duke nukem forever for a copy of battletoads.

How the hell...

Guy at the flea had it sitting out in a box, so I asked and he said $10. I haggled down to $6.

I thought it was a 8600 or the like, but when I popped it in my system, Windows told me it found a 9800gt.

It looks like the one in this pic: http://www.2dayblog.com/images/2008/august/geforce_9500_gt_9800_gtx.jpg

Wow... Is that a regular nVidia branded board? You don't see those too often. Regardless, that's a nice find. Those still go for around $99, and they're good cards too.

Not sure about most of those games, but Last Gladiators is a personal favorite, and alone worth the price of admission.

Picked up a full Tetris arcade kit over the weekend. Even included the manual which don't seem to be super common anymore. Probably going to pick up a cheap cab and convert it to a Tetris. More arcade stuff coming soon and will have pictures this weekend. :D

Good: Picked up a Visioneer 7600 USB scanner, almost brand new in the box, for $4!

Bad: It won't install under XP without the driver CD, which I don't have! *facepalms*

Dammit! I'm not buying any damn used scanners anymore )$#@

As long as you have the drivers, you shouldn't need anything else to install that scanner.

I've received a few things in the mail in the last week (all from DP members - thanks guys!)

What's Equinox run these days? I've actually been looking for one. I think I traded mine toward Chrono Trigger back in the day, never regretted it but I've been wanting to play it again.

The scanner won't work without the Visioneer PaperPort software on XP. Trust me. I checked (http://www.visioneer-europe.com/support/faqs/15.htm).

I dunno, $10-$15. I just don't come by it very often. The DP guide lists it as being worth more though.

Well, this IS a ten year old scanner.

I'll keep an eye out for this particular CD. It's not like I won't find it, eventually, you know. ;)

Got a whole bunch of Atari/Commodore computer stuff today. 800XLs, 1200XLs, several C64s, drives, printers, games, interfaces, all sorts of stuff. It's all pretty dirty, so I'm in the process of cleaning/sorting through it all. The boxed 800XL has "The Official Computer of the 1984 Olympics!" sticker on it.

Still, can't beat the price: Free. :D

Plus, it came with a few issues of Run and Commodore Magazine.

I bet the same guy will have it out next week.

Was this scanner anything special to make you buy it, or was it jut a regular run-of-the-mill scanner?

I don't think he'll have it out, he usually sells the merchandise just as he gets it. And no, nothing special, it's just an an old-style bulb scanner, not one of those crappy USB-powered blue light scanners you see at Wal-Mart.

Hah that reminds of the time i got an old ibm laptop at a garage sale, the seller told me they worked as a scorekeeper in the olympics in atlanta in 1994 i believe it was and they they were allowed to keep the computer for a certain price. She still had the olympics in atlanta as the desktop background and it had special software on it, it was pretty cool.

Wow, that's cool.

Hopefully I can get this stuff cleaned up, it came with Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and some of the extras.

I couldn't clean it up today because I clean things up outside and there's a heat wave going on. So it's just sitting in the garage.

today i made a trip to bookmans and picked up sub hunt, space spartans and beauty and the beast for the intellivision. also got maze craze for the 2600, daytona 500 for sega saturn and rbi baseball and wheel of fortune featuring vanna white for the nes.

total price = $0.00

they have this thing where they pick a few winners each day to receive their entire purchase for free. i told the girl that i wished i got more and she said it only happens for small purchases... i'm guessing anything under $10. it would have been about $8.50 if i didn't "win".

i've never been to the tucson bookmans but i've drove past it a few times. the phoenix one is way better than the mesa one... lots of $2 nes games(not just sports games) and the intellivision/atari games are only $.50

the mesa bookmans has a much smaller selection and now charges a $1 for all atari and intellivision games. the cheapest nes game you can get at the mesa one is a $3 sports game.

both of them have a small selection of saturn games and price them about the same.

where else do you go in tucson for games and such?
