No, no no... you did it all wrong. To make things right you're going to have to sell me that Castlevania SOTN and MvC 2 immediately. I'll give you the 2.95 you paid though.

Nahh.. you did fine. Your flickr link didn't work though. If I were you, I'd sign up for a photobucket.com account and use that instead.

As I said months ago, Damn you. Those TNG box sets are 70 bucks a piece still here in Abbotsford.
Heh, like I said months ago, just check out your local Costco. Mine had PLENTY left. All $29.99 each.

I haven't posted much here in a long time. Of course, I haven't really been looking for finds until this month anyway, mainly thanks to college work. Anyway, here's everything I have for the month up to this point:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/SonicGT/Game%20Finds/JulyC64r.jpg

First up is a Commodore 64C with two disk drives that I found at an estate sale in the beginning of the month. The computer's boxed but not complete, no manuals or GEOS as promised. I'm going to guess that the huge tear on the box came from when it was first opened. Oh well. The computer itself is in pristine condition, probably because the owner of the house bought a C128 after buying this. I found that computer completely beat up. I probably could have made out with its box, which was holding random knickknacks, but that's alright. Those 5.25 disks are NOT Commodore disks, even though I found them sitting next to the drives. Might prove useful for saving files or something, I guess.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/SonicGT/Game%20Finds/JulyC64Gamesr.jpg

To test the computer out I went and bought a bundle of software off of Ebay. It came out to each title being about 2 dollars a piece after shipping, and it seems that all the games are complete, with the exception of Talladega. I'm probably not going to play most of these more than a few times, but I happy to find that the C64C and drives work fine.

A week later, I went up to my former high school's White Elephant Sale (a rummage sale), held a bit early this year due to a financial crisis (it's a small private school). First, I donated to them an extra NES I had with SMB1+3, Zelda II, Operation Wolf, and Blades of Steel. They would not sell it for more than $15, but I was happy to see that it was one of the volunteers in the sale who bought the system for her kids. Great deal for her. For me, I found a few things:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/SonicGT/Game%20Finds/070909WhiteElephantSaler.jpg

The Crystal Key for PC was sealed and just a dollar. FFT, Contra and Battle Engine Aquila were 5 dollars a piece. That's a little high for the last game in my opinion, but I'm just willing to help my alma mater. Knuckles plush was 50 cents, and appears to be a themed one, like the Easter Amy I have. I think he should be holding something in his left hand, but on the right is what appears to be either a microphone or a torch (Olympics?). Any ideas on this?

Next up is two weeks of garage sales, the Fridays of 7-10 and 7-17:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/SonicGT/Game%20Finds/710717garagesalesr.jpg

Airblade, a game I've been curious about for a while, was the only thing I found on 7-10, and was $4. Everything else was $2 a piece, with the exception of the Merlin handheld, which was $3.

NES Games:

Hogan's Alley
Super Spike V-Ball / Nintendo World Cup
Spy vs. Spy
Ferrari Grand Prix Challenge
WURM: Journey to the Center of the Earth

Dreamcast Games:

Demolition Racer: No Exit
Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future
Floigan Bros.
Ooga Booga (2 copies, second given for free since the seller said one did not work)
Metropolis Street Racer
NFL Blitz 2000 (Hot! New! version)
Walt Disney World: Magical Racing Tour
Bang! Gunship Elite
Rippin' Riders
Championship Surfer

Finally, there was this weekend:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v156/SonicGT/Game%20Finds/725and72609r.jpg

Again, only one thing was found though garage sales: the Donkey Kong II Game and Watch, for 50 cents. The batteries needed replacing, but now it works perfectly, look great, and is DEFINITELY addicting...

After that, I went to something in the area called a trade center. It's like a flea market, but indoors and with more business-like vendors. There's a few game stores inside, but they're all a bit pricey. However, during the summer they do have a more traditional flea market just outside. There, I found ANOTHER copy of Final Fantasy Tactics, but non-GH this time, and even for $1 less. Also needed Oddworld as well, and almost took a copy of Colony Wars before noticing the second disc was missing.

Then there were the SNES games, all RPGs of some sort:

The 7th Saga
Breath of Fire II
Drakkhen
Final Fantasy II
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
Might and Magic III
Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen
Robotrek
Secret of Mana
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
Uncharted Waters

Marked at $2 a piece, bought for $20 total. The seller himself would have asked for $5 a piece, but it was a friend of his who owned the games and wanted them to go to someone who was a player or collector. I still wouldn't have minded paying $50, though I would have left Drakkhen unless it was thrown in. Not pictured are the clear NES/SNES cases these came in, which I don't mind having for a few NES games I have with manuals but no box.

Not bad so far, and I should have more on Thursday, since our subdivision is having a block sale. Not participating, at least in the selling portion, but it should still be good fun.

I never got around to posting last week's finds, so here they are with today's.

Not pictured: The Dark Spire, $10ish from GameStop ("GameStop new," but I don't care for $10, liking the soundtrack)

Last week:
CD-I games - Mystic Midway, Treasures of the Smithsonian, Pinball
-All have the reg card, Pinball has a catalog. I've never seen these longboxes before...

Lots of music...

Gundam: Char's Counterattack on VCD
-It's a bootleg, but it was only $1. I was hoping it would have some funny subtitles, but it doesn't. It's a crappy transfer with Chinese subs hardcoded, and English subs hardcoded on top of that.

This week:
Devil May Cry, Simpsons Hit & Run - $2/each, both complete
-Turned down Black, Tony Hawk's Underground (2?), and a stack of EA sports stuff for the same price
Not pictured, 2x HDMI 1.3 cables, $2/each (o_O)
Lots more music

I got to Salvation Army at just the right time, because most everything was sitting in a cart being put on the racks. The HDMI cables were from my church's thrift, so it was nice to find something there after it being dry this month.

CDs ($1-2/each):
Mortal Kombat Motion Picture Soundtrack
Offspring - Smash
Don McLean - American Pie and Other Hits (only has HALF of American Pie o_O)
Delerium - Karma
Genesis - ...And Then There Were Three...
Bjork - Post (funny, I was just thinking today "I've never seen Bjork while hunting")
The Cure - The Head On The Door
The Cure - Staring At The Sea - The Singles
The Church - Starfish
Billy Idol -Billy Idol
Action Action - Don't Cut Your Fabric to This Year's Fashion

Cassettes (not pictured):
The Police - Zenyatta Modatta
David Bowie - Let's Dance

I picked up a few things today. I stopped by Gamestop and took advantage of their deal. I got Street Fighter IV for PS3 for $20 (had some store credit) and it was actually sealed.

I then went to the flea market by the gamestop. Didn't find as much as previous trips but I did find a few things.

One vendor had a bunch of N64 games (mostly sports and crap) but I did find Banjo Tooie there. They were $5 each, I countered with $4 and was accepted.

At another vendor, there were stacks of NES/SNES/N64 games. SNES and N64 was garbage or overpriced. I mean $20 for Yoshi Story with blockbuster stickers plastered all over it. I wasn't even going to ask how much for the NES games but he said they were 4 for $10 so I picked out Mickey Mousecapade, Robocop, Dragon Warrior, and Zoda's Revenge.

Not a bad day I guess.

I have to drive 45 minutes to Charlotte to find anything good. That's where I usually work, so it's not a big deal. While there is a thrift store or two in this town and one in the town over, they never have anything good. There are 5 large thrift stores I always hit once a week, and between the 5 of them I usually find something worth my time. Sometimes I don't find anything at the same store for 3 or so weeks in a row, which is why I have more than one I frequent. Small town thrift stores suck- you need to go to larger cities where stock is constantly on the move to find anything. It's not that you can't find anything good at a small town store, but when you do hit jackpot- don't expect to for a very long time again. Anyway that's how it works for me.

I never find anything worth the trip at thrift stores (usually about the same caliber stuff you guys post finding there, but that doesn't seem worth going out of my house in 110 degree heat for)

Unfortunately, there is a lot of competition here, there seem to be tons of people in Tucson going and buying games to flip like I do, but I still find stuff good because its a big enough city.

So, I put an ad on craigslist Friday asking anyone to tell me if they had old video games at their yard sales tomorrow, no one responded except one guy who said he wasn't having a yard sale but had a few boxes of video games in the garage, come and make an offer on it. I went over tonight and he went on about how much money he could make on it but didn't have the time and just wanted the shit out of his garage. I offered $30 for it all and he said he wanted at least $60, but we negotiated to $40 for everything.

So, for $40, I got:

Hey, why doesn't that Genesis have any red on it? I thought the system was themed red and black...

It does have the little red spot down where the power light is, you just can't see it because of my aforementioned lack of light. Oddly enough one of the controllers that came with it was also themed red. Anyone ever see this? The arrows around the D-pad and the letters on the buttons that are usually white are a dark crimson. All of my previous controllers were white.

I've seen it at a pawn shop before. I never understood the need for a variant like that. Either that or maybe the red one was manufactured around the time Genesis 1 was being made, and the complete black one was with Genesis 2...

The controllers were originally red when the system first came out, but it was changed sometime later(the white version was available for later Model 1 systems). You're system is probably an early version with no lockout chip, am I right?

I've seen garage sales open as early as 5:30 am. 5:00-6:00 is spent seeing which houses are having sales, getting some coffee, and looking at the sale ads in the paper. I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes garage sales will start really early. (Old people get up early lol). By 7:00-8:00 most of the sales are opening, but it is required to get up early to get ahead of the competition. I know of at least half a dozen other people who do this same type of thing. Don't laugh at me either, I got a 1980s Roland analog synthesizer for $8 at a garage sale when it was open at 6:30 am a few months ago.

no garage sales are opening at 5:45, i usually get up at around 6:00, the earliest they start is 7, i usually scope places out and if anywhere looks ready early ill go,

Same for me, except we get up earlier, and to be honest, I've only been to a few garage sales open before 6, but it only takes one really, really good garage sale to make some serious dough.

The controllers were originally red when the system first came out, but it was changed sometime later(the white version was available for later Model 1 systems). You're system is probably an early version with no lockout chip, am I right?

I don't know, like I said it was a gift for a friend. My own model 1 Genesis didn't come with controllers. How do you know if it has a lockout or not?

Just a quick post. Today my mate gave me a copy of Sonic Advance CIB for Free! And the box is in mint condition, looks brand new. So that's one less CIB GBA game for me to hunt down.

Nothing too spectacular today, just a few things from Salvation Army.

Diablo II - $2.99
Activision Atari 2600 Action Pack - $.99

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y11/pezcore343/diableatari.jpg

I was happy to see Diablo II there but it seems to be missing the CD key. The prompt says the key should be on the CD case, but the discs are just in black sleeves (which is how i always remembered them coming. Any ideas?

And this I thought looked interesting and figured I'd pick it up.

Night Warriors: Darkstalker's Revenge 2 VHS - $0.49

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y11/pezcore343/darkstalkersvhs.jpg

Anyone know if this is worth anything? I saw one on eBay (just one) with a Buy it Now of 25 bucks but I never trust single buy-it-now prices. Any have a clue?

You're better off watching eBay for a complete one for around $15. I paid $15 for mine shipped, complete with the bonus audio disk.

If it's on DVD, it's worthless. So, you'll want to check.

Found stuff at Goodwill for the first time in a while today:

Activision 10-in-1 Plug-N-Play- $6
Sonic CD (PC)- $1.50

Also saw a Sidewinder gamepad that would have been useful, but it used a Game Port, not a USB port. Sonic CD doesn't seem to want to install in Vista, no idea why.

From yesterday and today:
http://i707.photobucket.com/albums/ww75/evanwink42/Finds/finds175.jpg

The SNES was all parted out. I think the unit itself was 2.95. Altogether it was 14.54 with the Jazz Jackrabbit game (not including the PS2 stuff)

The PS2 was at a garage sale today for 40 w/ choice of 2 games. There were probably 10 games to choose from, but it was all junk. I would have passed, but the network adapter makes it worthwhile.

When you start it up see if it has the licensing screen, if it doesn't then there's no lockout chip. Or just check the FCC code on the bottom of the system.

FJ846EUSASEGA: a system that has this ID does NOT have the copyright screen.
FJ8USASEGA: a system that has this ID DOES HAVE the copyright screen.

"Found" about a dozen copies of Guitar Hero 3 for the 360 (sealed, just the game) today at goodwill. They were all evidently Target clearance items. Some still had the Target sticker on them, looks like they got down to 7.48 each before they gave up. But the games also had 9.99 written on the shrinkwrap. That's weird because my GW uses hot pink price tags for Target stuff, so either these came from a different GW or they just hadn't been priced or repriced yet. Might go back tomorrow and see.

CD's at my local Goodwill are $3.00, but they've been having a lot of sales, so it was half off. Games are $4.00 with no discount, but they counted it as a CD....

Well, it had been sitting there for a couple of YEARS (Book & Music Exchange dates their price tags for when they first go on the floor, or the rare price drop - this one said March '07), and the manual has some minor-to-moderate water damage, and the box is a little rough... but the cart works great. I played it on the 2-hour+ ride home from Santa Claus, IN. Actually picked it up for a friend, but he was happy with his cart, so I am willing to trade it. For what, exactly? I have no idea.

Nate - the Book & Music Exchange in Henderson, KY wants $95 for a disc only copy that looks like it was buffed with a belt sander.

Been over a week since I've found something but yesterday was a pretty good find at my local thrift store. I saw a ziplog bag of 16 gameboy games and a teal gameboy color with light. Price for everything was $18.18 (this place has wierd prices). The gameboy is missing the back battery cover but still works. I included most of what I got. Sorry for not just shooting one pic but I am planning ebaying some of this and just took those pics.
