thanks, sometimes you just have to listen to your instincts as I had no plans to visit any thrift stores yesterday, glad I did!

Not much today. Apparently one guy got a truckload of Dreamcast games... yesterday. I didn't go yesterday. I was feeling ill. :(
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2010-12-11.jpg
So today I got a book with three James Bond novels by Ian Fleming for a buck. I also got Constantine 2 Disc Deluxe Edition and 007 Racing from Goozex.
I'm kinda ticked off because the guy that sent me Constantine said the item was mint. And then he sends it inside an envelope WITH NO PADDING. Ugh.

If you want to sell that Magic Drive Plus or TG16 joystick, PM me.
I sent you a PM, don't know if you got an email notification. THey don't seem to be working for me anymore. When a thread I subscribe to is updated or someone send me a PM I am no longer getting an email letting me know. Anyone else having that problem?

Not really worth pictures today:
Picked up 3 games at Gamestop's B2G1 Free sale:
Alien Hominid (GCN)
Daxter (PSP)
Adventures of Cookies and Cream (PS2)
I probably would have walked out of there with nothing if I hadn't seen Alien Hominid.

My find for the week
(Photobucket link screwup so I have to delete them)
WOW CE - $50 (got it off from BestBuy price error) They price the CE as regular price
KOF XII - $10
SFA3 - $7.50
Record of Lodoss - $10
Alpha Protocol - $10

If you don't play WoW, sit on that CE for a year. Selling it now isn't worth it.
Also: sealed Tetris DS? Yikes.

PS1 Spider-Man 2 Enter: Electro, Croc and PS-X-Change-$4.99 each at Goodwill. Team 3DO pin was $1 at the Rose Bowl swap meet.

Rockwell 61R Advanced Slide Rule calculator-$3.99 at Goodwill. I don't know much about vintage calculators but I thought it was cool to find it all together. The box has some split edges but everything else is in good shape.

Over the past week:
NES:
Mario Bros. (cart only) - $1
Dreamcast:
Cannon Spike (complete) - $13.89 shipped on Amazon
I lucked out on Cannon Spike - someone had listed a disc-only copy at the same price, which led to the listing of the copy now in my possession. I love it when that happens. By the way, the current asking price for the cheapest copy on Amazon is $49.95 before shipping. Time to take Cammy, Mega Man and Arthur and blow some shit up!

I sold 3 loose copies of the 2600 classic "E.T." at OVGE for that EXACT reason! Kids were like "this is the game that almost killed videogames forever...I HAVE to own one!" Hey, for $1 it's fun for these younger gamers to have that infamous piece of videogame history right?
As for my finds - they've been few and far between, but I did snag a Mint, sealed complete copy of Pump It Up: Exceed for the Xbox for $9. This is the complete outer box, with the game and playmat inside, so I figured $9 for a factory sealed version is good for me.

A local El Cheapo store chain down in my Mexican hometown had tons of these for like $8, brand new and sealed. I wanted to resell them but the shipping kills the profits. :P

I don't know what the resale value is, but I actually walked past it 3 times thinking "do I really need that?" and finally the Xbox completist in me decided we had to have it. I already owned the game and mat so I can keep this one sealed.

I'm listening to some samples of that album, it's like an 80s synth-stravaganza!
Not sure why it's so valuable though, not that the songs are bad, it just doesn't seem like the kind of thing to have value.

Jaruff... what an epic find. I think it's valuable because it's the first print. The LP is apparently still being made to this day - as is the CD version. This says so anyway. (http://www.parisdjs.com/index.php/post/Twilight-Pains-of-Love)
First things first: I bought something on Monday but was too embarassed to post it. But now that I'm posting today's finds, I'll post it anyway.

I haven't listened to it yet. I'm afraid to pop it in my computer.
So um... today's finds. Loads of 'em.
I got up at 3 AM and left for the border, arrived at 4, and spent about an hour in line. Yep, I arrived at the flea market at roughly 5 AM and spent the next three hours walking from booth to booth, leaving when they weren't ready, coming back when they were. And here's my finds. (Not in order of purchase.)
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2010-12-15a.jpg
** Sixpence none the richer - The Fatherless and the Widow - $1 (Yes, the artists that had that Kiss Me song waaaaaaaaaay back in the day. And I just found out they're Christian artists. Bwah.)
** The X-Files Fight The Future: The Album (V/A soundtrack, $1)
** Quest For Glory V: Dragon Fire ($1)
** Battle Arena Toshinden 2 ($1)
** Diablo: Hellfire ($1)
** The Interstate '76 Arsenal ($2)
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2010-12-15b.jpg
** John Denver + The Muppets - A Christmas Together ($1). I thought this was worth money... but I guess I was wrong. :P
** Plastilina Mosh - Aquamosh (Promo US CD) ($1) - this was a weird find, because I didn't think this album had been released in the US!
** Beastie Boys: Check Your Head ($1)
** Génération TV (2 CD, $1) Some sort of French compilation with a ton of TV show theme songs. I'm not sure if these are the original or French versions.
** Five Cooler Master 80mm computer case fans - $8
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2010-12-15c.jpg
** Max Memory 64MB PS2 memory card - new in case - $5
** Nyko 8MB Memory Card (white, dirty) - $5
** Digimon Card Battle (PS1, no card) - $5
** Mario Teaches Typing 2 (PC) - $1
** The Who - The Ultimate Collection - $1
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2010-12-15d.jpg
** Office v.X (OSX) - $1
** Robot Chicken Season 3 (DVD) - $2
** Jason X novelization (I wasn't going to buy it... but eh, what the hell!) - $2
** This is Jazz #34: Aretha Franklin - $1
I'm glad someone bought something off me today and had a little extra cash on hand! I can resell Hellfire, Mario Teaches Typing, Interstate '76, Quest For Glory V and the Digimon game and make back most of my money. :D

Yea, that's definitely the reason even though the reprint still goes for a decent amount (I saw $24.99 new) on eBay. I plan on selling the original and buying a reprint because I do want this one in my collection, just not the expensive one. It has a few small tears at the top but if an opened one went for $100+, this should easily fetch $200. Nevertheless, I'll profit enough to buy a reprint and recover the money I spent on presents this year.
I had Mario Teaches Typing 2 back in the day. I probably still have it somewhere. That thing worked wonders for me (I can do over 100 wpm now, much of it due to playing that game). LOL

I stopped by Big Lots today, YMMV may vary on this but they had a TON of Paramount TV series season sets for $10 a pop. I ended up with Star Trek Voyager season 3, (2 copies) DS9 season 4, and Star Trek the Animated Series complete collection. They had like 6 boxes of these seasons, each with a set number of each. There were only 2 DS9 sets left so I got both. I have one DS9 myself so one copy is to watch, the other's going on eBay since it seems that this set brings a solid $30 used. I would have bought more of the DS9 sets but only 2 were left. and, yes all these sets are the original DVD releases, not some sort of budget re-release or anything. Not sure how they ended up here but I'm happy for an early Christmas gift for myself.

How? It's Big Lots. I think they sell the stuff that stays in clearance areas but never sells, or that is never taken out of the warehouses.
Last year they had a ton of DVD seasons for many shows, including Wonder Woman, The Flintstones, Nip Tuck, The OC, and I bought like five seasons of Tales For The Crypt at one at less than $5 a pop.
Too bad the local store closed down earlier this year. I LOVED to go there to buy DVDs. :(
(And yes I bought stuff to flip too.)

I'll post pics later, but over the past two days I got in the mail from eBay:
Eddie Murphy's Delrious on Laserdisc- 7.25 (one of my favorite stand ups)
RoboCop- 5.50 (another favorite movie of mine)
I should be getting a ton more discs over the next few days, including a Japanese only release of Star Wars Episode 1.

Just two things today:
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2010-12-16.jpg
Slipstream 5000, OEM version, brand new - $2
Various Artists - The Only Redneck Album You Will Ever Need - $1 (new)
... That album has such classic songs like "Honky Tonk Wine", "Whiskey, If you were a woman", and "Memphis Women & Fried Chicken". All of a sudden that Dinosaurs CD doesn't sound as bad anymore.
I was going to purchase a bunch of PS1 Memory Cards from a seller who's clearing all her stuff before going back to her hometown for the holidays, but it started to rain while I was at the flea market, so she didn't set up everything in time.

I was in Green Bay last weekend (conveniently missing the DomeBuster snowstorm here) and found Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Ed. PS3 on clearance at Target for 29.99. That's the lowest I've seen it and I've kind of been watching it. I'm not much of a speculator, but if I had to choose something right now that will go the way of SW:TFU Sith Ed., it would be this. It isn't SW, though, so it probably won't get crazy (and even Sith goes up and down quite a bit) and I'm not even sure I'd pick another copy up right now at 29.99, but I did want to make sure I got a copy to play.

I would personally get the rest of those DS9 S5 sets, if the price is similar to my S4 set, that means you could get $35-40 shipped for each one on eBay.
Season 3 of Voyager brings a solid $25 shipped, but my local Big Lots only had 5 or 6 copies, which just wasn't worth my time at paying $10 a pop. I've got so much crap right now, but perhaps if I didn't I would have picked them up for resale.
As for the animated series, I think it brings like in the $20-25 range (including shipping), again maybe if I didn't have so much to deal with I would have considered getting them all. I couldn't resist picking up a copy for myself at $10 though.

Found two things this week:
Ponyo DVD for $5.00 - I watched this a while back and thought it was cute. But not good enough to pay full price for it. However, for 5 bucks I couldn't resist adding to my collection.
Tomba 2: The Evil Swine Return for $10.00 - I'm finally able to knock this title off my "rare games to buy" list.

I drove up to Sherman, TX to visit the Console Game Exchange store there, and on the way back hit a Movie Trading Company. By the way, Tower of Doom and AD&D: Treasure of Tarmin were both $1.99, and they're complete.

Got a mini Mario Kart Wii RC kart for $5 at Goodwill today, as well as a first party GCN controller for $4.
Also got a Tiger Electronics game, Lights Out. I've beaten it once in the four hours I've owned it. Great time waster for $3.

I found it at the flea market, and if I say what I got it for, I think I would probably get the "UnpluggedClone treatment" since I don't believe it myself! I will say it was nowhere close to being in the double digits ;).

Found a couple things this week at Salvation Army.
- Game Gear with Pac Man and Ecco -- the unit is a little worn, the speaker/sound is extremely quiet except when you use headphones; and the screen seems to be pretty bright, I've never had one so not sure if this is normal. But it's all ok since it was only $3.99
- Doom II complete for Mac -- Don't have a Mac, and never really plan to so this is trade fodder/resell to me. Picked this up for a whopping $1.99

Found some ok stuff
and found 1 item that got me happy!
First off bought a small Sega Genesis version 2 lot off craigslist
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd158/car_show_fan/carshows2/Finds3.jpg
Comes with 2 controllers, all the wires everything works (seller made sure it worked before selling right infront of me which was awesome)
came with 5 games of my choice nothing fancy but some that caught my eye
WWF Royal Rumble, WWF Wrestlemania arcade (i played the PS1 version a long time ago and loved it), Space Harrier 2 (loved the first one on the master system. never tried the second one hopefully its just as good), Biohazard Battle, and a game that really caught my eye after looking it up on youtube. a game called Mazin Saga: Mutant Fighter. Looked really cool from the videos i saw of it
Then i made my rounds at the 2 local goodwill stores.
First one found a loose copy of Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt that is in pretty good shape will go up for sale in the future when i get everything in order
and i was so far thinking everything wasn't really huge find no money makers or anything or really spectacular.
And then at the other good will store i found this in the music cd section. and then i snatched it like if it was gold. and what i found it might as well be gold
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd158/car_show_fan/carshows2/Finds4.jpg
Yes Black Label copy of FF7. Now the first thing running through my mind is if its at a good will that means most likely a disc is missing or they are in really crappy shape. so i took a look inside and this is what i found
http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd158/car_show_fan/carshows2/Finds5.jpg
All in like new condition (except for the case has some light scratching that but so light i could probably find a way to buff it out or something lol)
What did i pay? No not the 29.99 you see.
I paid 3.99 plus 6% state sales tax
i went home smiling ear to ear
question for you guys though
how do i go about removing that price sticker off the manual without doing damage to the manual

Depends on how old/hard the sticker is. If it isn't too hard you are probably best off using a hair dryer to heat it up. Carefully peel it off trying to keep the page flat/stretched tight so you don't put a crease in it as you peel. Then you can use a dab of goo gone on a paper towel to wipe off remaining residue. If it is old and hardened I would spread a drop of goo gone to cover the surface of the sticker, let it sit for a while, then peel it off. No guarantee this won't warp the paper or remove some ink, though.
nice find.
Also, damn I really want to find Bubble Bobble 2.

I didn't get any 2k monies stuff but a few interesting things.
Firstly, for my Casiotone collection I got a Casio ML-1 keyboard (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-baX4QXxmE"), it's terrible but at $1 I can't go wrong. Bleh, it's going to the circuit bending pile.
Then, I went to a random booth were a very nice old lady had a Casio Melody 80 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aptDgSovXzM) musical calculator which she wanted to sell for $5. I just felt too bad talking her down so I begrudgingly gave her the money for it.
I went to a random enclosed booth, which had a TON of CDs and etc. I soon realized it was the same booth I had gotten the Pee Wee soundtrack at a while back, except the owners had moved into the enclosed booth instead of open air. I pulled out a few CDs which sparked my interest: Enigma Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi!, Gorillaz Demon Days (To replace my scratched to hell copy), The Batman Returns soundtrack (wow, I hope to find a Danny Elfman album EVERY time I go to the flea market!), and a digital bonus copy of 300, which was probably included in a Blu Ray or DVD set or something. Those were $0.50 a piece. And I also got a 45 single of Walter Murphy's A Fifth of Beethoven for $1, which I have been listening to as I type this.

Some Goodwill towards men today…well, one man at least. I think the weekend crew got hold of the price gun today, as all games were stickered 99 cents:
http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/1729/xmasnes.jpg
I passed on some common 2600 games and SNES sports titles, but helped myself to some decent NES games, and an unusual mix of Xbox titles:
http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/7476/xmasxbox.jpg
Some of the cases have residue from what looks like sloppy sticker removal, but other than that are complete and in pretty decent shape. Ho, Ho, Ho!

Well, not exactly a find... but a bit of backstory should clear things up!
So I'm friends with Youtube user ultimachocobo86 (http://www.youtube.com/user/ultimachocobo86). We've been buddies for a while now and we've traded games in the past. A year or so ago, I told him I found a copy of Megaman Legends for the PS1 and that I'd give him the game once I beat it.
Except I never did beat it. Or play it.
This year, I figured I'd surprise him by sending him the game along with his Christmas card. So he got it and was grateful, but THEN he says "Dude add me on Steam", which is funny because I thought I had him already. Anyway.
He sends me this.
http://i51.tinypic.com/2dt4nrl.jpg
O_o
So I feel a bit guilty over this. But I remember seeing something he may like, so I dig around my boxes and give him a code I had handy. The code was a retail Half-Life Game Of The Year CD-Key, which can be activated on Steam. So now he owns Half-Life, Blue Shift, Opposing Force, Counter-Strike, Day of Defeat, Deathmatch Classic, Ricochet, and Team Fortress Classic.
So yay, MERRY FESTIVUS EVERYONE!

Assorted Complete Genesis Sports Titles I don't have
ESPN Sunday Night NFL
Hardball III
Minnesota Fats Pool Legend
PGA Tour '96
Sports Talk Baseball
Tecmo Super Baseball
World Series Baseball '96
$1 each. I was EXTREMELY happy with Minnesota Fats. Awesome condition and the only one I've ever found complete, and in nice condition. That brings my total to 637 genesis titles. Getting there.

Sega CD - Panic! - 5
Sega Saturn - Sim City 2000 - 6
NES
Bandai Golf
Black Bass
Golgo 13
Jeopardy!
NFL
Q*Bert
Rescue Mission
Robowarrior
Silent Service
Stealth
Loose:
Contra Force
Fire n Ice
All complete games, 2 bucks each. Fire n Ice & Contra Force were 50 bucks each at a local games store. Of course, I didn't pay cash for them, I used trade I accumulated a while back from master system and sega cd games I've had as extra trade bait FOREVER that I could never sell off to anyone interested. The woman who runs the store prices exclusively off Ebay and has some insane prices....$140 Earthbound Box? GOD DAYMN. I decided to cherry pick a couple titles I would love to play.

Agreed, I saw it in a very large security case packed in with like 3 other games at Bookman's. They do this every once in a while, you just gotta take the whole thing up and tell 'em what game you want. The other one I have never EVER found complete for genny is Earthworm Jim 2. I remember owning it when it first came out, it only came in that cardboard case right? Everything else on my list is pretty obtainable, will just take time to find. I'll probably have to dish out a couple extra bucks to get it.

Well. today was a day filled with excitement, horror, and wonder.
So I left for the flea market a bit late, thinking I was going to end up waiting for like an hour but nope! No line. I got to the flea market at around 6:30 but didn't notice anything of interest, except for ONE booth. This booth got most of the items from that other booth where I bought Jason X last week (they sell the stuff at the end of the week so they can be cleared out for cheap). There, I found these:

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2010-12-20b.jpg
They're ALL BRAND NEW (except for Star Trek 15th Anniversary Mac). The seller wanted $15. I was going "ehhhh..." when she said $12. SOLD. The boxes are all bulky and stuff. I figured, I'll keep the action stuff and sell the crappy simulation / strategy ones. Guess what? THEY'RE WORTHLESS! I PAID FAIR MARKET PRICE FOR THESE! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH. Well, I can't even play that Mac game anyway.
I already had a copy of FarScape the game, but it was disc only. Guess I can sell my old copy now. :p
As for the "horror" part of the day... well, I also got my Secret Santa stuff today. I was already pushing the limit on all the stuff I was carrying with me, and I was very, VERY afraid that Mexican Customs would stop me and charge me taxes for these. And then I picked up the Secret Santa stuff and I nearly had a heart attack because of how much stuff I got. D: I bought some groceries and one of those biodegradable carry bags that the super market was selling for less than a buck, stuck as much stuff as I could there, stuck MORE stuff in my backpack and tried to look as inconspicuous as possible. In the end, they didn't even pay attention to me, but as soon as I was out of their sight I almost ran to grab a cab home. Phew. :P

Are *any* Star Trek PC games from that era worth anything? I know I've made the same "mistake" as you, by paying essentially the going rate (and expecting a better pay-off) for a lot of the games you pictured. It doesn't help that a lot of those games are terrible, and I'm a big fan of TNG.

not sure if it is the same era, but ST Elite Force and Elite Force II are worth something. Star Trek Armada and the sequel are also worth plenty. There is also a compilation called Star Trek Action Pack that is worth a bit, as it includes several of these.

Yeah, this. The Elite Force games are probably the best action-oriented ST games ever made. And I sell copies of Armada + Armada II for $20-$25 on eBay all the time.
I already own Elite Force, its expansion, and Borg. So. Oh god I'm a Trekkie! I FEEL SO DIRTY! D:
P.S.
I bought all this on Steam. Just now.
Lego Batman ($4.99)
PB Winterbottom ($0.49!)
The Oddboxx ($12.49)

Indie Future Pack ($4.99)
Deus Ex Collection ($2.50)

Also, Klingon Academy used to bring a LOT ($50+) a few years ago, I stupidly kept the copy I had at the time. Now you're lucky to get $10 in MIB shape. WTF?
And the (PC) CD version of 25th Anniversary is worth a little, I had no idea and just saw a copy bring some good money when looking up Star Trek games, hrm. (I have one). I *think* the CD version has added voice acting from the original cast members, which might be why it's worth something (compared to the worthless floppy version).
Kitsune, you should give Away Team a try. It's one of my favorite Star Trek games... >_>

Struck out on most pawn shops and goodwill today. Passed up Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt, Kirby's Adventure, and Excite Bike for NES for $3 each, a Magnavox Odyssey 300 system that looked rough $5, and 2 N64 systems with at least one being complete for an unknown amount.
Instead I bought the following:
5 or so old gaming magazines 50 cent total
8 old game guides (Local bookstore sells everything for $1, never stopped by until today and lucked up. They actually have a section for used game guides!)
PS1 - 2x Tomb Raider II, Bushido Blade, and Final Fantasy Chronicles
N64 - Turok Rage War
Dreamcast - Tony Hawks' Pro Skater 2 & Crazy Taxi 2
SNES - Doom
$8 total
7 Laserdisc (Haven't been by this Thrift store in ages, the owner actually set these aside for me at least 4-5 months ago. They still recognized me when I walked in and pulled them right from underneath the counter. Talk about service!)
Sherlock Holmes and the Secret Weapon, Chain Reaction, Marathon Man, 3 Days of the Condor, Saving Private Ryan, Hamburger Hill, and Bullit.

The thing on the left is a Tri-Star, aka a Super 8 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_8_%28video_game_accessory%29). It came with what I believe is a pirate SMB2 cart in beat up condition. The Metal Warriors was bought at another booth; The total for everything was $15.
A booth had new PS2 games for $10, but then the owner raised the price to $15 because he was a dick. He had Fight Club on the PS2. I wanted that game. Yes, it sucks, I don't care! :(
I'm not sure if I'm going on the hunt tomorrow. The weather's all weird right now due to the storms that are hitting California hard... and most of the sellers COME from Northern California, so they may not even come down to sell stuff.

New independent mdeia store opened up a few weeks ago around here. After stopping in a few times, looking around, and not buying anything, but getting to know the owner; today he says he'll give me 50% off any classic games I decide to pick up. His prices are generally fair/average to begin with so I picked up these today for $5.86 after tax:
