Just beat Final Fantasy 4 Advance (European release) with 70% bestiary and under 30 hours. It could've been under 25 but I levelled up a bit before the final boss. I should be clearing EarthBound and Mother 3 in the coming month or so.

Finished up the "good" campaign of Infamous 2. Took about 17 hours which is pretty rare for a single player campaign these days. In short it was excellent and polished. Very few annoyances...which, again, is pretty rare for a game these days.

Well, I did it. Over 100 games in the first half of the year. I also beat translated Dragon Quest I on the SNES but I don't count it as a completed game because it is from a compilation game Dragon Quest I & II and isn't available as a standalone game on this system. I have to beat Dragon Quest II for it to count for me as a number.

I've been avoiding this game for a while, simply because I thought it was stupid. I saw a friend play it back when it was new and I wasn't impressed. Finally breaking down and borrowing it from that same friend, I feel half justified. On one hand, it's a fun, creative platformer full of humor. On the other hand, it controls akwardly and is a chore to play half the time.

The graphics and animations got a major upgrade from the last two games. The controls are a lot tighters too. I think I enjoyed the music in Golden Axe II more, but that doesn't make this games OST any less amazing.

Thanks to all of the awesome press and videos of Bioshock Infinite I was inspired to go back and finish Bioshock 2.

While the setting was the same as the 1st, the game was on par with the graphics, game-play, storytelling, atmosphere and production values.

So, while the game lacks a bit of the "never seen this before" feeling of the 1st, it's still great stuff and worth seeing through to the end.

I made the mistake of not getting the best "good" ending in Bioshock 1, so I focused on ensuring that I made all the right decisions this time out.

I'll probably drop back into the very competent online multiplayer this week and maybe even get some of the downloadable single player story missions.

Next up on my backlog of games I loved but never took the time to complete is Bayonetta...

I flited in and out of interest on this game. Initially, it was one of the games I was going to buy a PS3 specifically to play. But, then I learned about the RTS part and I'm not a big fan of RTS games. Well, finding the game cheap and all, I finally broke down. And I'm glade I did. This is one epic game, with an entertaining story, an expansive world, the simplest RTS system I've ever experienced and a kick ass collection of metal. Not a big fan of Jack Black, but I thought he did his part well. The game is a tad glitchy at parts (and there is apparently a game breaking glitch present that I've yet to run into, thankfully) and it's way shorter than I thought it would be.

Are we allowed to include hacks? If so, this has to be one of the most impressive hacks of Sonic 2 I've seen. It allows you to play as Sonic, Tails and Knuckles at once just like in Heroes.

Of course being able to fly and climb does make the game very easy but it's so fun to see the 3 of them running around. Glitches were few and far between. Amy was even present. I believe a 2nd & 3rd person can take control of 2 of the characters. Good stuff.

Sad thing is it could have been a pretty badass game, but with a storyline that is all over the place and horrible gameplay (minus the platforming areas, the only enjoyable parts of the game), it's really not worth anybody's time.

Really dislike games like these. I never really understood this genera, actually, it's like reverse RTS or something. Basically, you're a guy with a weapon, you're on a map and there are bad guys coming your way. Take'em all out and move on to the next map. Not easy, as you're out numbered, slow and have a weak ass weapon. It's not a bad game, just not my bag.

I finally put some serious time into Castlevania: Bloodlines and have beaten it for the first time, filling in one more gap in the classic Castlevania games I've yet to complete. I beat the game with Eric, but I'd like to keep going and try to beat it with John Morris as well. Oh, and I beat it with all of the default settings too. Maybe someday I'll tackle Expert mode with both in order to see the expanded endings, but for now I'd be content with Normal.

I took a few minutes to try and find a good name for this game that sums up my feeling about it. After much careful thought, I've decided the appropriate name would be 'bag of dicks'. Good god is this game frustrating, the hardest part about it is surviving the first 20 seconds. However, it'll certainly kick your heart rate up and make you think on the fly, which I did kinda like (once I got the hang of it).

I really can't explain why it is that I enjoyed this frustrating game so damn much. Maybe it was the premise, which involves the player controlling a cop, kicking ass and getting a new tool at the end of each level, until the cop becomes a cross between Robocop and Rocket Man. Cool beans, right?

Enjoyed this quite a bit was pretty quirky and interesting, only real complaint was the high random encounter rate and the ability to run away didn't ever seem to work.

Beat Mother 3 last night for the first time. Overall, it was a pretty enjoyable game and the ending wasn't too bad although it was a bit strange to be sure. I would cite it was easier going than EarthBound, especially the final area although I think in general the game didn't have the scale in terms of the journey that EarthBound set out but I suppose that's what you get for the setting being a group of small islands versus an entire world such as Eagleland in EB.

Fairly solid fighter, I didn't notice a lot of slow down and it's easily one of the best 8-bit fighters I've player, not that I've played a lot of them mind you, but it easily kills either of the handheld ports of Mortal Kombat.

Short, sweet, amazing. When it was new, I had brushed it off as another clone RPG. How very stupid of me, Costume Quest is anything but a clone. It's a highly fun RPG with interesting characters, a cute story and plenty of collectibles to keep the game going for a tad longer than the main game. Highly recommended.

I had a lot of fun with this. It's a great continuation of the story, complete with the same humor that made the films awesome. Had a few issues with the sketchy targeting and Bill Murray didn't sound like he was really into it. Wish more games like this would be made.
