Italy and Brazil are like black holes for shipping packages to, Im sure that a lot of stuff is stolen by the workers and sold since there are so many poor people in each country. Or its people just straight up trying to scam you. Seems like this case was a scam job that failed on this guys behalf once he realized you wouldnt give up.

So either the post office found it/delivered it, or he finally called off the scam, or he was stupid and hit the wrong button on paypal claim?

The important thing is that Kitsune has received some good closure from this experience. :)

I'm glad things resolved. I've shipped some stuff to Nicola in the past, and sent it fully tracked and insured, because of the warnings. Thankfully it's all gotten there fine. I think he'd have thrown a fit if the post office had fiddled with any of it LOL

If so he can reopen the claim.

Claims cannot be reopened.

He can't. Even if he could, he sent me a message via eBay (which I quoted) in which he very clearly said that the item arrived. So if he tried to do this again, I can contact PayPal and eBay and say, "Hey, this asshole told me the item got there. Check our message logs. He's trying to scam me, and you."

I seriously suggest that you guys block this guy from your eBay accounts. His behavior is very suspicious - why would he back off from the claim after I asked him to get the police involved?

I'm thinking of asking Nicola to look the guy up on Italian collector sites. Something tells me this guy has been pulling this stuff off for a while. He might even think of reselling the game... and wanted to get it for free to make double the profit...

Claims cannot be reopened.

BS.

They sure can and they have been. You have to call them but an operator can reopen the claim.

If he sent confirmation then you should be good to go. I would think that if he meant to scam you then he would have. So while his bahavior might not have been the most umm adult way to handle things he wasn't trying to rip you off.

You don't need to cross him off the list if you don't ship to Italy. The problem wasn't so much him but Italy.

I see your point, but I feel the buyer was trying to scam Kitsune.

It's just too ironic that after Kitsune stated what he did in the last PM (police and federal investigation, for instance) that the buyer closes the claim AND sends a Message stating that the game arrived...ON THAT SAME DAY and just an hour or so after Kitsune sent the Message. I wonder what would have happened if Kitsune never would have sent that message...

Sure, there is always a possibility that the package did arrive that same day. If it did, you were right. However, to determine this, the current status ofnthe tracking must be provided to clear up any doubts (thinking of course that it was scanned).

Kitsune, is it possible to check the current status?

Kitsune, is it possible to check the current status?Yes. The status hasn't changed; it left the country on March 29, and that's it. Here's that link Dark Sol posted earlier. (http://www.packagetrackr.com/track/usps/EG699651615US)

Definitely. He was trying to scam you, IMO.

I don't think he was trying to scam anyone, it probably just took a long time for it to arrive due to post office incompetence. As for the status not updating, that happened to us with a tracked package we sent to a family friend using signature confirmation(within Canada). They didn't scan it properly so it looks like it hasn't been delivered, but we know it's been picked up. They live in a small rural area so I guess post office standards aren't the same there.

As for coincidence, the day before Kitsune Sniper's package arrived I told someone I know about this package going missing in Italy as a reason why I usually avoid shipping anything. The next day Kitsune Sniper posted that everything was resolved. I've previously told this person about a package from Ottawa not arriving to me and I used that as a reason why I don't like shipping, within a few days my package showed up. It's really just a coincidence, though if any more packages seem to go missing I guess I could try talking about it with him to see if it helps the packages arrive properly. :p

In any case, I'm glad this all worked out. :)
