So I looked up some of the Sony Walkmans on eBay and they're actually selling. What's the appeal with these and what parameters do you need for them to actually sell?

Is it just a hipster fad?

Most of them are just collectible. The Sports ones, however, get used. Probably the best-built of any Walkman or Walkman clone, the Sports ones have the battery compartment under the cassette (they're almost alway still there), amazing radio reception, and a belt clip that's way over-engineered, but in a good way. That's why they sell in the $20 range instead of $50+

The 'big boy' of the Walkman world is the dual cassette model:

There's a couple other big ones, but when that guy pops up, people shell out cash.

First find in a loooong time.

I had a stack of games I couldn’t get rid of. Couldn’t sell them on ebay, couldn’t sell them on the sale threads here, nothing. I was going to just donate them to goodwill when a friend had the idea to try and take them to the CD Trader, maybe get some random bullshit CD or something out of them. I had forgotten completely that they had games too.

I took the games, got a few bucks in trade and decided to check out their game racks to blow the credit and picked out these:

http://robertalpizar.com/dump/finds/20111022.jpg

Fireshark, Rastan Saga II, Chakan.

I have copies of the Lite lists in my Dropbox and checked from my phone. The first two came up as R5s, so I picked those out of the pile first. Chakan is just a game I remember wanting as a kid, even though the consensus is that it sucks balls. Hey, three games I’d never owned so why not?

Fireshark and Rastan Saga II were $5.99, Chakan $2.99. Three more down, a bajillion to go.

Just more stuff I keep an eye out for, if I only bought games I'd be pretty disappointed with most trips to thrift stores.

Seriously, this!

Do you mean that if it wasn't a charity sale you would have tried to haggle on it? It was priced at a dollar. I don't know about anyone else but I never try to haggle on things priced that low.

I would have (most likely) offered .50. Some people say you would be surprised at what people will buy for a buck at a yardsale but this didn't seem to be too popular around my neck of the woods and had another price sticker under the dollar one from a previous sale that I'm guessing said 2.

2 NES Systems (One Boxed)
3 1st Party Controllers
1 1st Party AC Adaptor
2 1st Party RF Adaptors
Dr Mario & Rush'n Attack

Won at a local auction for 12 but after buyer's premium & tax it came up to 13.99

Haha, I just picked up one of those Power-Joy carts for $2. Does yours have Boom Man? (Best. Rename. Of Bomberman. Ever.) I thought the cart said Power Toy to be honest, half my label was missing. Always love finding a random famicom cart in the bin.

My recent finds:
Tengen Ms. Pacman, nes - $5
Dungeon Explorer in case, tg16 - $12

A recent ebay purchase:
PC-Engine Duo, $80 shipped
Listed as broken, seller told me that cartridges work but cd's don't. Cartridges working seemed a good sign though. I think I can probably fix it (probably have to recap or adjust laser which is common on them) and I'll report on it if so!

Fable(Xbox) $3
Silent Hill: Restless Dreams(Xbox) $3
Mortal Kombat w/manual(GG) $2
Sonic Drift 2(GG) $2

I got these at two different Goodwills. The only thing I don't already own is Sonic Drift 2. The rest are either duplicates or items to sell.

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC0932.jpg

Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic(Xbox)
Star Wars: Battlefront II(Xbox)
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2(Xbox)
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker(GC)
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat(360)
Mario Kart 64(N64)
Pokemon Gold(GB)

$22 total

The first and only yardsale I went to was said to have two boxes full of games according to the email I received back from the seller. So I showed up early and got to look thru the boxes before anyone else. As I'm looking thru I asked how much the guy wanted for them and he told me that his sons told him that they weren't worth anything but he wanted about $5 a piece. I quickly told him that I wasn't going to give him $5 a piece. After picking out the things I wanted I offered him $20 but he said he wanted $25. So I pulled out two more dollars and told him that was all I had(which may or may not have been true...ok, it wasn't true, I had two more ones but no fives) and he accepted it.

He had a few more decent games but he would have had to of made them around $2 each and I would have gladly picked up more of them. He had a copy of Jedi Knight Jedi Academy but the disc was missing. He also had copies of Gears of War and Assassins Creed but I already own those. Those three Xbox games are worth a nice chunk of change and this is the third copy of Star Wars: KOTOR I've found in the last 3 months.

And then we have Battlefield 2. Of course I had to pick this up. That way, in two days when everyone is talking about playing the newest Battlefield I'll be right there with them....sort of.

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr306/THE-1-2-P/GEDC0933.jpg

Mario Kart Ds(Ds)
Pokemon Ranger(Ds)
Sonic Colors(Ds)
Mario Vs Donkey Kong(Ds)

$12 total

My final stop was at a one time local flea market. For the most part it sucked balls but there was one table where off to the side there was a stack of Ds games on a stool being sold by the kid of the table owner. I asked him how much he wanted for each and he said $3. So I asked him if they all had the games and he said yes. So after looking thru each one I grabbed the four above.

Lately I keep finding lots of cheap Ds games at yardsales, flea markets and Goodwill. I should probably get a Ds. Or atleast start using all the free Nintendo points cards that most of these games have been coming with(I usually just include them when I sell the games). As usual, the majority of this stuff will be available in my sellers thread.

Office 2000 Premium - $3
Office 2003 Student Teacher Edition - $2
Sawyer Brown - Six Days on the Road - $1
Buckwheat Zydeco - On Track - $1
Dell PS/2 PC keyboard, used but in near mint shape (not pictured, I'm using it!) - $2

Well, at least I'll get some money from those Office sets... and I've been looking for a replacement PC keyboard for a while, but most local sellers have either super filthy ones, or stained, or worse - Spanish language keyboards... ew.

Yeah not sure I always find these Power Joy carts from time to time...this is probably the fifth one I've found although there could be some differences in the carts. I did found a Power Joy 001 one time which contains totally different hacks. I'm for sure this one brings Pandamar because I was playing another one of the copies I own with my girlfriend and it had it ^_^ It's one wicked lame game that's for sure!

That purple / blackish Gameshark can sell for more than that. Pokemon players use it for cart hacking or something like that. That Action Replay seems to be worth even more. The others sell for $15, as previously said.

Also, LIST THOSE PC GAMES DO WANT DO WANT DO WANT :D

I think the good Gamecube Action Replay versions can get decent money.

Famicom shape Game Genie, and Master System Action Replay, are scarce imports with little for a US audience who'd even care. Making those difficult to hunt down...

The mega mem cards (especially the second-revision yellow ones) are pretty useful in the chiptune communtiy for backing up compositions on the go. I've already got one but maybe try to sell it on 8bitcollective or the like, you'd probably get a fair offer.

Yeah that gameshark pro is pretty useful too. Should still have one, no doubt served me VERY well back in Pokemon-mania. A time I'll never forget especially with how it began during wrestling's similarly huge attitude era.

I've found fall/winter hunting to work way better than spring/summer. Winter peoples focus goes on back to school, holidays, bad weather, ect ect and I usually get better stuff hunting as a result. Granted I do lose the flea market/yard sales due to the weather but given how bad the finds have been for me at fleas for quite a while now it's not a big loss.

Oh and to keep this on topic, yesterday passed up Diablo on PS1 for 2 bucks. Friend of mine went back for it today and low and behold it was still there! Check the case at the counter and the disc is literally cracked into two pieces. Poop.....

This is the first copy I've seen since GameStop stopped carrying N64 games. This has a preowned GameStop label on it. Go figure. It was also a Blockbuster rental, and has Sharpie numbers on it. Luckily, the label is fine. I honestly don't know what's up with Goemon attracting vandals.

Well, I've seen someone repro Stadium Events. I don't see the point on that either. Sure it's rare, but if you're not after an original, why not just get World Class Track Meet?
And I also wonder why people would repro cheap Famicom exclusives that have little to no text. But I suppose that makes (very little) more sense (don't want to use convertors or a separate console/clone).

And that Cool Spot story. :D
And that game's not even rare or expensive.

As for me... Hook for SNES CIB for around $6 shipped on amazon.

So, I had a few finds, plus ordered some stuff:

- Giana Sisters DS (DS. New): $20
- Disgaea 2 (PS2. Complete in near mint condition): $20
- Pokémon Emerald (GBA. Loose in very good condition): $30

When I heard that Giana Sisters was not only a Mario clone, but also hard to find, I decided to order a copy while Newegg had it in stock (Along with some RAM for a PC I'm fixing up). Also, Disgaea 2 was bought as a gift for a friend, since I already have the PSP version.

Non-gaming finds:
- Assorted PCs, for parts: Free
- Package of 10 Mini DVD-RWs (New): $2

The PCs came from a listing on craigslist; someone wanting to get rid of the ones they had lying around for parts. I was able to get several CD and floppy drives out of this (I had wanted to have some spares lying around), plus a fully working eMachines desktop circa '01 (It's an old eMachines, but hey; free working desktop) and a working motherboard with an AMD Athlon processor (Which I'm going to use as the base for a low-budget project).

The DVD-RWs was at a community garage sale this morning, which was honestly not bad of a deal, since they where still sealed. I'll definitely put these to use...

Yesterday: A legit Hong Kong various artists CD called "Timeless 3: It's a Long Road", published by Universal Music HK. I picked it up, thinking it was one of those crappy cover version CDs, but it had the real artists, and with a tracklist like this (http://rateyourmusic.com/release/comp/various_artists_f2/timeless_3__its_a_long_road/), I figured it was worth a buck. There's very little information on the series on Google, all I could find were references to pirate downloads from China. Figures. :p

And today I bought Animal House on VHS for a buck. It included a mini CD with four tracks from the soundtrack. Unfortunately the stupid thing won't load on my PC's disk drive because it's not in a normal shape so I can't rip it, but I already own two different issues of the soundtrack so it's not that big of a deal anyway. :p

Some TG-16 games off eBay arrived today after bouncing all over the country. However even after being sent the right direction they nearly evaded my grasp once more. My apartment complex has a pair of parcel lockers but since most people are lazy, they're usually both full. Years ago I got tired of having to go to the post office to pick my packages up or wait until the redelivery ticket was retrieved by my carrier the following day, so I put a note in my box to leave packages at the door if the boxes are full. That works fine with my regular carrier but things have been mixed up lately.

So I headed out to buy a soda and stopped at the box on the way - sure enough, both lockers occupied and a "pick up your package next week" tag in my box. Dammit. Oh well, go pick up a soda and head back home. On the way back I see the USPS truck pull out of the adjacent apartment complex and pull over. I ran up with the ticket in hand and the non-regular carrier scanned and gave me my package. She said she was uncertain where my unit was in the complex, which is why she didn't bring it to the door - fair enough.

So for about $50 I got the following TG-16 games, all with cases, booklets and sleeves...

Battle Royale
Bonk's Adventure
Bonk's Revenge
J.J. & Jeff
The Legendary Axe
Yo, Bro

J.J. & Jeff is a freaking awesome game, I don't care what anyone says. Yeah it's cleaned up from the Japanese version but the game plays like Adventure Island on steroids... and other narcotics. It's always been one of my favorite games on the system. I wouldn't have bought Battle Royale on eBay but it added like $2 to my total cost including shipping. Bonk's Revenge will be a Christmas present for my girlfriend.

Great to be getting back into the TG-16 again... at 3x as much as it cost me before. LOL

NES & SNES Systems with Everything Needed And Some Misc Extras (Pretty Sure It Also Included A Zapper I Misplaced)
26 SNES Games
160 NES Games

350

Saw an ad on Craigslist selling some stuff including a few systems with games that was best offer. I sent an e-mail asking about a list and the seller stressed that everything was sold together (as in each system with all of it's games) and basically said that they knew this stuff held some value but on the other end of the coin also stressed that if a reasonable enough offer was given it was going since it was rarely if ever used anymore and also mentioned that they were working on a list. Sent me a list shortly afterwards in another e-mail and I figured up 10 per a system, and anywhere from 1-3 per a game depending on what the game was. It added up to 344 with some unknow extra controllers etc not figured so I rounded up to 350 which they took. For the last picture - 1) The Star Tropics manual still has the letter from Uncle Steve attached to it unused 2) The Milton Bradley game with a photo copied manual over it is Digger T. Rock: Legend of The Lost City 3) Bo Jackson Baseball to Xevious all have those 1 page printed up shortened manuals with them 4) To the right of those 3 is Quattro Sports with printed up manual 5) Two over from Shinobi Is Air Fortress 6) The 5 Tengen games on the right are Rolling Thunder, Toobin', Super Sprint, Ms. Pac-Man And Skull & Crossbones

Mary Jane novel $1.50
Are We There Yet WWE book $1.50
Starship Troopers vhs $1
Starship Troopers European extended version vhs $1
Gears of War 3(360) $20
Gameboy Advance SP Case $1
Multi Handheld Portable Charger $5

The books and vhs movies were from Goodwill. I'm going to watch the regular version of Starship Troopers and then watch the extended version to see if the differences even matter. Gears of War 3 was a Target return at Goodwill. I already have a copy so this one is for sale or for trade for another recent release game(I'm looking for the Augmented version of Deus Ex). I bought the charger from FYE but upon closer inspection it doesn't function like a normal plug in charger. It takes two AA batteries and can reuse them two additional times. I'm just going to make a thread for a normal Gameboy SP charger since I don't seem to be having any luck finding them cheap in the wild.

All of that good stuff from the two preceeding pictures came from our very own Oobgarm, or as I like to call him: the great and powerful Oob. I'm not sure how he fit all of that into one flat rate box, especially since I kept PMing after the initial sale to get him to add more stuff to the box since I kept purchasing more stuff as he added new stuff to his thread. And he still managed to make it all fit. The force is strong with that one.

Poop.....

That sucks, I did pick up a copy from an Arc for $4. Case was pretty destroyed, but it was complete. I've found that hunting thrift stores picks up for me around winter, because everyone is working for their tax write-offs.

Yes. I think it was called the Tremor Pak, although that may have just been a rumble pak with varying degrees of rumble strength.

Dozens of that damn thing showed up at my local flea markets. Dozens. A bunch of Naki-branded accessories, actually. Light guns, controllers, and those Tremor Paks.

I didn't buy them, but at least three different sellers have had those for sale in the past month.

The Performance/Interact Tremor Pak was indeed just a 3rd-party rumble pak. The Tremor Pak Plus was the same thing with a built-in memory card slot. There was a convenient switch for changing between rumble and saving. The combination weighed more than the N64 controller, IIRC. They're far more common than official Nintendo gear, possibly due to their good build quality and cheaper retail price back in the day.

Thank you.

I have a whole bunch of PC games that the guy I sell stuff for and help out gave me previously to sell,I just don't know chit about them so they have been on the back burner..Three of the games are Diablo.

Then he gave me these PC games in those drawers..and I have some others he gave me like back in march..

If you want this stuff we can make a deal.it's just taking up room..

I'm interested in which Dreamcast and PS1 demos you picked up. I might need some unless they were all magazine disc.

I will look in the drawers and see what Dreamcast and PS1 demos are there..soon..

I do have a huge heavy CD folder of misc PS1 demos but mostly filled with PS1 magazine demos..

I have several Dreamcast magazine demos..and some of the Dreamcast magazines to list on ebay..I had a sale on them from a member but he waisted my time ,I've yet to get back to doing anything with them,I keep getting the box out but run into something else I need to do..

I may have more Dreamcast demos around..I have to really kook,,

Trying to catch up,after the snow, water in basement again and no power..Helping my dad with a move and new tenants moving in here..then my kids party this week,it's crazy
.....................
Also Thanks for all the Gameboy Interact info..I need to sell those things I just don't have the time to get going on them but the info helps..

Today's finds at the flea market.

F-Zero PC - $3
Jungle Green N64 w/ Expansion pack - $5
Dreamcast - $5

The drive in the dreamcast doesn't load games but the unit turns on and will load to the dashboard.

Is it me or it seems any jungle green N64 I find is missing the expansion door and I can't ever find one?
