So jealous, I have a moderate sized Laserdisc collection (about 20 maybe) where I try to pick the cream of the crop, but I just love watching movies on laserdiscs, it looks and sounds right compared to other formats. VHS sucks, DVDs are too compressed, Blu-Ray's like to get rid of film grain... but Laserdiscs were perfect.

How much did you pay?

I don't know what you consider the cream of the crop, but out of all of them there are about 15~20 that I have absolutely no interest in. As for price the guy was selling them for $5 and he only had about seven of them out so I asked if he had any more he said yes and pulled out two boxes and the milk crate. First I asked what he would sell all of them for, he came up with $100 (not bad) but I didn't have it. So I pulled out about 20 of them and asked what he could do (I'm expecting about $30, as acording to him I was the only person who has asked about them but nope!) $75 I try to reason with him but he basically tells me if I don't get all of them they will be full price. I looked through them and like I said only about 20 were meh, so I got the $100 and got them. there are 88 or 90 something of them so about $1.20 per.

P.S. I dislike you very much... BegaglePuss :shameful: very much :smash:

P.P.S. Also, my Retrode 2 came in today this thing is awesome really liking it.

Went to the flea market for the first time in forever today. I was scouring every booth I could for GBA titles on the cheap because I found a box that had a bunch of box/inst inside it of games I'm looking for a while back (I've posted how I found DK King of Swing and Polarium Advance :)). Didn't find anything on this trip though :|.

We stopped by the mall for a bite to eat and swung into the mom n' pop store that's inside. They'd just taken in someone's Neo-Geo AES on trade. The cases for the games were in bad condition and they wanted stupid prices for them (I think I had them all on Neo CD anyway). I used to work with the manager at GS YEARS ago and he let me buy the box w/Styrofoam off him. Now I have a box to put my AES in. :D The only downside is I have a Gold system and this is the box for the Silver (the difference being the silver included only one stick and no games...mine was the 2-stick + games bundle that I bought off my friend with no box).

I'd kill for that price.

And you can probably sell the ones you don't want and make back some of the money.

Haven't really had many finds lately. Stopped over at one of my wife's co-worker's garage sale as she said she might have game stuff for me to check out. Wasn't much but there was a plastic bag containing I saw was a Nintendo Fun Club Newsletter along with other stuff. As the rush of people were coming in (and my daughter just happen to knock over a model truck, breaking one of the exhaust pipes, which she is now the proud owner of) I asked how much. Shrugged and said "$5". Snagged it and the truck (which was $10 as it was metal and such-wasn't going to haggle over something my kid broke and my wife, who was right there and watching her, didn't attempt to prevent) and left to head home to get ready for work.

After my short shift, I came home and opened up the bag to discover the following (pardon the picture-my iPhone has been wonky with photos lately)

http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t379/pmode4/GameFinds/nintendo_funclub.jpg
Nintendo Fun Club News Vol 1 Issue 1 (just a couple water stains in the upper and lower right hand corner), Issue 5 and 6
Control Deck manual (has glossy paper as opposed to the slightly heavier stock paper, smaller version I have stored away)
ROB Poster "The Nintendo Game Plan" from 1986 (Huge! My "Now You're Playing With Power" 1987 poster is maybe a third of the size)
Super Mario Bros. sticker
Card explaining the Nintendo Seal of Quality
Letter from Nintendo Fun Club News
Descriptions cards for the coupons to send in to get the Super Mario tip book and Super Mario/Excitebike and Hogan's Alley scorepads. The coupons were torn out.
The envelopes to send out for the tip book and the scorepads

Very happy with this. Gonna pick up a poster frame hopefully tomorrow to store and hang that poster.

Need a player for those LDs, understatement?

I have what some would call a mid-range player the CLD-2080 basically nothing compared to that, I doubt I could afford something like that from someone that knows what it is.

Although I have been keeping an eye out for the Laseractive at a good price (for obvious reasons) but I don't know how I would like going from a player that auto flips to one that doesn't.

Anyone know what the better Star wars LD set is? Right now I'm going with the newer ones (top row) but they only came out a year before the DVDs so I'm not sure if they have the edits that the DVDs have I'm going to try to watch them as soon as I have time but I don't know when.

I usually pick up LDs for $1+tax as they get sorted in with LPs at the local Goodwills. Never find anything really worth money, but some good titles nonetheless. (Just picked up Jaws, I've gotten Jurassic Park and Hoffa - which I sold for around $25 on Amazon - and a few other good movies.) I'm actually thinking about trying to sell a lot of them for around $2 apiece + shipping since I really don't have the room to start an LD collection.

Since everyone is talking about LaserDiscs, I'll chime in.

I just picked up a copy of Osamu Tezuka's Legend of the Forest (plus bonus Astro Boy) on LaserDisc, but I have no idea what it's worth. It's been released as part of a Tezuka collection on DVD, but the stand-alone release is pretty hard to find on LD or VHS.

Any chance that this is worth anything?

Again, a 'make me happier than rich' day:

http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n629/ConneticutLeatherCompany/gkids-25.jpg

The N64 was $15, and has one official controller and one clear 3rd party, and only jumper packs. But, it has jumper packs, and a 2nd compartment cover, and with as many I consoles I have that need both, that was like 2 N64's in the bag, and a little more space, too. Atari Plug-n-Play was $1, GC Dark Alliance was $5, Resident Evil is missing disc 2, $1, random DC game, $1, Mission Impossible Tandy, $3, $2 for the foot pedal, $3 for the joystick, $3 for Transformers Season 1, and $10 each for Dead Space :D
One's for my brother (he has a platinum version), and one's to make me fix my 360. NOW!!!

It's been a very interesting week or so for me. Lots of shit going on but I had a chance to go to some local thrifts and the flea market this weekend.

First picture:

http://i41.tinypic.com/2cwwmg.jpg (http://i39.tinypic.com/2mma73s.jpg)

All of the PC games were $15 total. The three on the top left were $5 and the others were $10. Guild Wars Nightfall also came with the original Guild Wars discs and other expansions. There was also a Norton 2007 CD in one of the games but sadly Fable is missing disc one. Oh well, I can't complain because I mainly wanted the MOH collection for myself.

The Power Joy III and controller were given to me at the flea market yesterday. The guy selling across from me noticed I sold games and electronics and he let me have them before he left.

The Leapster games were $4 for the entire bag. Maybe Sunnyvale can give me a general idea of value; I haven't looked through the bag yet. Uncle picked those up for me actually at a thrift last week.

NES gun was $2, uncle grabbed that too. He also got me the three joysticks for a total of five. Deer Hunter games (II is sealed) were $1 apiece and Headhunter was $3; I've been wanting to replay that for a long time.

The box of Intellivision games (17) and manuals were $13. That box on the left? 34 (30 sealed) surplus military toggle switches from 1985. I paid $5 for the entire box; much cheaper than paying $2-4 for a single switch at Radioshack. Should last me for a while. I only wish the guy had more of them; would have bought every single box.

http://i39.tinypic.com/29uznms.jpg (http://i39.tinypic.com/qqredj.jpg)

Rock Band 3 keyboard was $25. The loose Jungle Green (missing the reset but has the expansion cover) was $1. The other Jungle with game and controller was $15. The new laser toner in the back was 50 cents and not pictured is a business card laminating machine (from what I can gather) I paid $1 for.

Now a question for Kitsune:

I don't have pictures ATM but I have boxed copies of Glider 4.0 (floppy), Tie Fighter (floppy), Where In Space is Carmen Sandiego Deluxe (also floppy), and Where In The World is Carmen Sandiego Deluxe (floppy once more). Any idea on value? Also have several manuals but I haven't really went through them but I remember seeing a Starcraft one.

That's what I thought. Oh well, going straight to my PC collection then. Only paid $8 for everything.

Manuals are:

England Under Edward I
The Civil War by Empire Interactive
Earthsiege
The Lost Mind of Dr. Brain
Lords of the Realm

I wish these games had been in the box too but sadly they weren't.

$5 each for the X plorer geetars, and $1 for the PS3 Fender. $2 for the iQuest w the Leap Pad games. $1 for the broke 360 wireless controller, $1 for GBA TH2, $2 for X Force Collector's Ed (What's this worth, please?), $1 for the Cars toy, $1 for the Fairy Painting thing, $1 for Time Splitters 2, $1 for the official N64 rumble pack, and $15 for Zelda CE. Actually, after discount, it was $13 for the Zelda, Time Splitters 2, and rumble pack. And the 'Kitsune' find for me today... $3 for GWAR's Phallus in Wonderland :p

About 100 Laserdiscs...

Some very cool Laserdiscs! I only started grabbing them when they show up around me after I got my LaserActive, which is a pretty meh Laserdisc player I've been told. When I do find Laserdiscs they're normally about $1-$2 each here.

That Fantasia box is actually really cool, if it's complete it should have a full color artbook in it which details a lot of the production of the movie and the inspirations for it. I dig the Techi movie though, I'm jealous. I've yet to find any anime Laserdiscs around me.

From what I’ve seen all the big (well, bigger) box sets are complete Snow White, Fantasia, Jurassic Park, and Tenchi. The cool thing about Tenchi is I’ve found all the other moves on DVD but that one. The only other anime LD is a random Moldiver #4.

This is only the second time I’ve even seen Laserdisc around me. Both times they’ve been $1 per set/disc but I think the only reason for that is both the guys that I got them from are old, both said that I was the only person that ever asked about them (and knew what they were) and both complained about carrying them back and forth (they’re not the lightest media) when I think about it like that I kind of feel used. LOL

I finally decided to get Little King's Story, and man, was this game hard to find. $20. It did lead me to a Gamestop that still has a lot of their PS2 and DS games in their original boxes, so I got Dragon Quest VIII for $10. Ring of Fates was $10. Major Minor's Majestic March was $4, for a NanaOn-Sha game, I have to try it. Mojo was $0.99.

Next, hopefully I can find Fritz Chess somewhere...

Saturday I didn’t hit any garage sales or flea markets..but a friend did and he found very little..

Sunday ,I hit a flea market late at closing time.as I walked in the vendors announced a closing blow out sale but the place was dead..

Picked up the MARIO item and N64 Monaco for $5.00 each.
DVD $2.00

Upon leaving a lady asked if I wanted the guitars and steering wheels for free so I took them..

Left and went to meet up with my friend who I sell stuff for to help him pay his bills..

He gave me everything else in the picture to sell..

One of the coolest things In the stuff is around 10 8 X 10 Pictures of Unpublished pictures taken of sports figures and rock stars/bands..

This week was bittersweet. I got some great deals but my favorite Play N Trade closed it's doors this Sunday.

R.I.P North Aurora IL PnT

I had preordered Ratchet and Clank All 4 One before it came out at the location. I could never afford it or have time to pick it up. Then my friends found out they where closing so I had to hurry and pick it up this weekend. I got lucky and they had one still wrapped copy! I also got extra lucky because I found out I had some old credit at the store I didn't use so it was even cheaper.

Ratchet and Clank All 4 One - 17.93$
Dead Rising 2 - 10$
Harvest Moon Island of Happiness - 6$ (for my girlfriend)
2x 60gb Xbox360 hard Drives - 15$ each. One will be gutted and re-purposed for my girlfriend's 4gb 360 slim.

It was sad saying goodbye to the friends I made there over the three years, I hope them the best.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v17/otknot/P1050322.jpg

I also went to an estate sale. and picked up a computer with two 100mb switches (1x 16 port and 1x 24 port) for 20$

Turns out it is a linux based server... So I went back and bought the other two computers so I try to better find out what it actually was. On the bottom the computer facing the other way is an old dell I just got from a friend. They gave me the keyboard, mouse, and a 15 lcd monitor.

I'm not really sure what I'll do with these since they're a AMD athlon XP, older P4, and two newer single core celerons.

$3 apiece for the Transformers Armada DVDs, both still sealed. All the PS2 and XBOX games came to a total of $21 at the pawn shop. But the weird/cool find of the day was the 3 Microsoft 'meh' programs. All still NIB, but they also all sport varying markings, 'For Employee Use Only', etc...

At $2 apiece, I couldn't say no. Now to find someone who cares...

Today, I got a CIB copy of Point Blank with the Guncon for $20.00.

I gave it a test run before dinner, and man is it addicting! I convinced my Dad to give it a try, since he trained to use a real gun in the RCMP. However, we discovered that his reflexes weren't as good as they used to be, so he quit after two tries.

Monday is the $1 day at Value Village, and I have been eyeballing a bunch of PC games... Nothing big, but boxed ones for a buck isn't bad. Some dick had the same idea and beat me to it :(

Interesting that he's the dick because he got them first but if you did then. . . you're a hero? ;) :D

Yup. Exactly. It's like Chong said... "Too many people want this stuff anymore, and it's making it more expensive for the rest of us."
Matter of fact, I bet that dick actually plans on playing them. Ugh! What kinda dumbass wants to play Gabriel Knight, anyway? That shit's for reselling. Dicks.

From yesterday:
Steve Taddeo's Swing Senders (live CD from 1995) (?!)
Tears For Fears / The Hurting
Who Framed Roger Rabbit (some story thing)
Poison / Look what the cat dragged in (... and I thought the guy on the lower right corner was a woman...)
$4 total

And from today:
http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-02-01a.jpg
Black Fire (Saturn) - $2
Impact Racing (Saturn) - $2
Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics - $1
Soft Cell / Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret (remastered, new) - $1

This booth had a few Saturn games, but I already had most of 'em. I considered buying them all but my budget for the day wasn't much.

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-02-01b.jpg
Dire Straits (Warner Remasters) - $2
Dire Straits / Communiqué (Warner Remasters) - $2
La Onda Vaselina / 16 Kilates Musicales (new) - $1
Ghalib Ghallab / Live at Voodoo (new) - $1

That Onda Vaselina CD is the stupid CD of the day. I can't stand that band. At all. I hate them. But this contains music from back before they started sucking balls. Well. More than they do now.

Romantic Encounters at the Dome (Mac floppy, new) - $1
V/A / The Living Daylights Original Soundtrack - $1
Cibo Matto / Stereo Type A - $1
Bran Van 3000 / S/T - $1

And yes, I did buy that Living Daylights CD for this song alone. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JhlOVQNyBs) I could've sworn I'd bought a CD with a ton of James Bond themes but I guess I left it behind...

http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j238/foxhack/DP/dp-2012-02-01d.jpg
Fighting Masters (Genesis) CIB
Action Replay (Genesis) CIB
Mort the Chicken (PS1)
Super Monkey Ball (GC)
Fight Club (2 disc special edition x2)
$14 total.

... why two copies of Fight Club? Well... I remember seeing that this version sold for lots of money years ago. A lot of years ago. These days it doesn't even sell for $5. :( So the extra copy's up for trade. Other things of note at that booth were a copy of PS1 Fighting Force (PAL) that some creepy fat lady almost snatched from my hands when I looked at it. I still grabbed the Genny stuff from under her so haw haw.

Oh yeah... a booth had a ton of older Amiga / C64 hardware, mostly cards, and some floppies. Many were trashed due to age and poor storage... but the box also contained two small photo albums. There were pictures of who I presume was the former owner and his wife (there was a photo of her in a wedding gown), and other relatives. I also found the guy's social security card. (No, I did not take it.)

And um. Photos of a woman's um, private areas.

... *coughs*

You'll sooner guess the number of licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie-Pop :p

Props on the leaving the SSI card behind, but...

Action Replay (Genesis) CIB
I'm surprised that there was a version for the Genesis, I thought these mostly came out in Europe and would only be available for the Mega Drive. I have the Action Replay for the Gameboy but I know it was released in North America as the GameShark.

Those photos would have gone well with that hentai CD you found a few weeks ago, you could start a new collection. LOL

I saw it too, from the description it sounds like the photo album was already pretty snatched up :p
