Worth a buck, I reckon.

A lot of people weren't too impressed with the new Jagged Alliance; that's why they kickstarted a project to make something more like the original (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2079547763/jagged-alliance-flashback).

I can vouch for many of this weeks games, good stuff:

For $1+:
Red Faction: Armageddon
Supreme Commander
Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance
The Guild 2
Neighbors From Hell Compilation

For $6+
Painkiller: Hell & Damnation
ArcaniA
Darksiders 2
SpellForce 2: Faith in Destiny

In for $1 for the Supreme Commander games.

Also curious if you guys know what this game is. It was released between 1997-2000 I think. Could be later though. Realtime strategy game in 3D for PC where you had mechs and stuff. I remember there was a demo of it that came with a PC magazine that had a Final Fantasy 7 demo on the same disc.

*edit*

They're not in 3D but it could have been MechCommander or Earth 2140 back then. Any other games released in this time period that were like that?

Titans of Steel, maybe?

Neither of those. I think it might just be MechCommander and I was mistaken it was 3D.

Good sale this week.

For $1+:
Cities XL Platinum
Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition
Divinity II: Developer's Cut + OST
R.A.W. Realms of Ancient War
Game of Thrones
Confrontation + OST

For $6+:
Wargame: European Escalation
The Testament of Sherlock Holmes + OST

Cities XL and Sherlock Holmes make this bundle worth $6.

Interested in Divinity 2, Cities, and Realms of Ancient War. Don't care about the rest, but care less about the stuff in the $6+ bracket.

Hopefully The Adventures of Van Helsing appears in one of these bundles sometime soon. I want that one but don't want to pay much for it.

Hmm.

For $1+:
DeathSpank + OST
DeathSpank: The Thongs of Virtue
On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One + OST

For $6+:
On The Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode Two
The Baconing

Guess I'll toss a buck at it for the RPG, not sure if I'm interested in DeathSpank or not.

Eww. The Penny Arcade RPGs. I actually got both for $1 on PSN. Never did finish the first one. Not a very good game. The third one looks pretty good though. The third one is by the developer that did Breath of Death 7 and Cthulu Saves the World. Not included in this deal so doesn't matter I guess.

Not really interested in the others. Will skip this one.

Jorpho
10-19-2013, 02:17 AM
I bought the first Deathspank game for some reason a long time ago, and the third was in another bundle a while back. The second one has been sitting there taunting me for years – for despite their age, their prices have been fixed at $15 for quite some time, and that's far more than I would care to spend. If you have any interest, you should jump on them now!

(Of course I never got around to playing any of them. Who plays games anymore?)

JSoup

Steam isn't about playing games, just look at the community numbers the next time you're logged in.
Steam is about having the biggest collection you can, no matter the cost.

Don't know much about this weeks games.

For $1+:
Splice + OST
Fractal + OST
Pulse + OST

For $6+:
Intake + OST
Auditorium + OST

I have Auditorium on the PSN and I can't say it's an amazing game. It's fun, but a tad too fiddly. A quick check tells me that I have Fractal on Steam from a previous bundle. Mixed with the fact that two of this weeks games don't activate on Steam, I think I'm sitting this one out.

This weeks sale doesn't interest me much:

For $1+:
Worms Armageddon + OST
Worms Blast
Worms Ultimate Mayhem + OST
Worms Pinball + OST
Worms Crazy Golf + OST
Superfrog HD + OST

For $6+:
Alien Breed: Impact + OST
Alien Breed 2: Assault
Alien Breed 3: Decent
Worms Revolution Gold + OST

The WB Bundle this week looks like a winner for me...

Batman: Arkham Asylum
F.E.A.R. 2
F.E.A.R. 3
Lord of the Rings: War in the North

Pay over the average to unlock

Scribblenauts Unlimited
Batman: Arkham City

I have Scribblenauts Unlimited on 3DS already but that or Arkham City are worth $5 on their own easily and the rest would be icing on the cake.

When you play War in the North, if you want to be overpowered and beat all your friends when it comes to damage scored, choose the Dwarf. He wouldn't be so overpowered if he didn't have that explosive arrow.

Another good sale this week:

For $1+:
Edna & Harvey: Harvey's New Eyes + OST
A New Beginning: Final Cut + OST
The Whispered World + OST
The Chronicles of Shakespeare: Romeo & Juliet + OST (no Steam code)
The Chronicles of Shakespeare: A Midsummer Night's Dream + OST (no Steam code)

For $6+:
Deponia + OST
Journey of a Roach + OST
The Dark Eye - Chains of Satinav + OST

Worth is for The Whispered World and Deonia, the rest is just icing on the cake.

Edit: My order also came with some bonus material: A company artbook, some company themed wallpapers, a documentory and paper figurines for Deponia.

I want to get Rogue Legacy, but I'm sure it will be cheaper during the Thanksgiving or Christmas sales. And then it will promptly be dumped in a PWYW bundle. And I'll never get around to playing it anyway.

-Gotham City Impostors: Professional Kit
-Batman: Arkham Origins DLC Pack
-Lord of the Rings Online: Steely Dawn Starter Pack

And now we see what the store is for. What's that you say? You don't have Origins and can't redeem the DLC pack? Well, no worries, it's currently in the Humble Store for a few dollars cheaper than average.

I'm finding that many people (me included) was hoping Scribblenauts Unmasked would be one of the bonus games.

I played Star Wars the Empire Strikes back table on Zen Pinball 2 and it's surprisingly good. I had it free on PS+ so just downloaded it today. Kind of pisses me off about Sony more than impresses me that it was a decent game because it's yet another cheap game offered by the US PS+ when Europe gets on average a better line up of games than we get every month.

It's only three of the six Star Wars tables on PSN. This might be all six, might only be three. There are a lot of tables that are missing even paying $6 though.

You should see the people bitch on the official PSN forums and PS3Trophies. People seem to agree that Europe gets better stuff because they get screwed harder by game prices than us.

Oh! I'd been on the verge of purchasing Manos for a while now. (It's done by the same people who did the recent AVGN game.) Too bad about the lack of Steam.

There's a good chance the game will get a key if it's greenlit (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=125743981). Pretty much all the other games that have been bundled on Humbles have gotten keys when they were added to Steam, so this is their best shot at getting accepted.

It's really too bad that there's no soundtrack for Manos included in this bundle. :(

So... either you don't give cares about great Adventure games. Or you are seriously cheap.
Machinarium wasn't too bad, until I realized the engine was Adobe Flash. I regularly run CCleaner to clear out the junk files on my PC, after I do this I notice my save file is gone. If I accidentally right click while in game, up pops a Flash menu which takes you right out of the immersion. After that it felt like those free Flash games various sites have posted.

To The Moon, while an "interactive story" that didn't have a lot of game substance, REALLY pulled at my heart strings. One night I played from 11 PM on a Friday until 6 AM Saturday to finish it. My eyes were like Niagara Falls and I'm man enough to admit it.

Strike Suit Zero looks very appealing. I know I have games in my backlog which will have to stay that that way until I fix my PC. I have to use a table fan to cool it as some chips must be starting to go bad and are getting really hot.

Toki Tori was a better game on GBC IMO. Felt much more advanced for the system, and can easily be mistaken for a GBA game. The remake is still a good game, but I don't like some of the stylistic changes they made.

I'm liking this weeks sale.

Dungeons of Dreadmore Complete + OST
Hack, Slash, Loot + OST

For $6+:
The Binding of Issac + Wrath of the Lamb DLC
Teleglitch: Die More Edition + OST
Sword of the Stars: The Pit - Gold Edition

Paranautical is shaping up to be something special. Dungeons of Dreadmore is worth it, it's a fun game and pretty easy from a rougelike standpoint. Hack, Slash, Loot isn't really worth it, sadly, as it's less based heavily on RNG and not gameplay. The Binding of Issac isn't my bag, but still a good game in it's own right. Never played Teleglitch or The Pit, but I've seen them in action. Worth it.

Two of those games (Dirt 3 and one of the Flashpoints) use GFWL. Codemasters hasn't said whether or not they'll remove that crap before it shuts down.

There's a good chance Dirt 3 will have it removed since there's a new version of the game on Steam's internal database. But Operation Flashpoint? Who knows. Codemasters has a nasty habit of letting games and licenses die out and not giving a fuck, so buyer beware.
