I thought that may have happened, but it still said,
All offers, policies, coupons & promotions are subject to modification and/or termination at any time.

They modified my order, the offer was modified later.

I still haven't heard back from them despite the fact that I sent out two identical emails, one with an attachment the other without (so it wouldn't get nuked by spam filters). This is insane and ridiculous. I'll never do business with them online again. Ever.

Right. BUT, that doesn't apply to this situation. They already took my order FOR that item, confirmed it, and send me a different cheaper item with the invoice that says it's the nice one. You can't change an offer after you've shipped the item and then say that when the person bought it, that offer was invalid. Doesn't work that way. If they did it before they shipped me the item, sure...but the way they did it, that doesn't work at all. I looked it over carefully. Nowhere in there does it say that they can substitute another item without notice or that typos or other mistakes are invalid (until AFTER they changed it).

Yes, I agree the "pretend like nothing happened" method isn't very right on their part.

I was not offered anything by game stop via phone. I have not received an email reply from them. When i called they claimed they never offered an 8 port switch on their site, that it was my fault for ordering the wrong item. They said they would be glad to set me up to refund the item. I don't want that. I want the correct item or some sort of better deal for them being slimy, shady, and trying to brush this under the rug!

Some of you aren't trying too hard it sounds.
Tell them you have proof (You should with the various emails, your order receit, the product page screenshot posted here, etc.). Threaten them since what they were trying to do is illegal, etc. Tell them about this message board thread and how you're not the only one that ordered this, and how people are getting it resolved with a different deal for every person (or so it seems).
And the ones that don't even bother calling, I'm surprised they even post here to complain that they're being ignored. You can't rely on email to accomplish anything. Sometimes it takes picking up a phone and talking to someone on the other end of it. :)

I don't want to dash any hopes, but if it all comes down and they still won't budge from whatever lame offer they're giving you, you're pretty much gonna have to accept it. The BBB is available for complaints, but nothing will happen directly with your case. No lawyer is going to touch this, even if you get a group together and try some class-action type stuff. But I applaud and support your efforts to take it at least as high as Gamestop online travels. I've fought retailers to the very top before on other injustices (I've stopped short of calling them frauds), and have since learned that ultimately you have to take what they give you (they being the highest-level manager you can get ahold of).

If the mechanical switching of the smaller device is of good enough quality, it is better than a powered switch. Powered devices almost always introduce signal noise, especially on the low end of the market like this. Component switches have always been insanely priced, but if AV nuts complain about their $300 8 port powered switches introducing noise, I would expect Pelican's powered 7 port switch to introduce far more noise. As long as the smaller switch isn't junk, it probably will produce a cleaner output signal.
I have a 8 port switcher that only has component on THREE of the ports...it was not cheap (and it was powered).
BTW, I shipped both units back and GameStop is paying for return postage as what they said for me to do in an email. I will check for my CC's to be refunded the amount of the charges...then I will use the coupons. After that, NEVER ORDER FROM THE SITE AGAIN. I thought it was probably a pricing mistake....who would have thought they would NOT cancel all the orders taken before they noticed it and changed it...and avoided this mess.

I've ordered from GameStop before and will continue to do so again.
But then again, i knew this was a mistake and I would'nt get the item the first time I saw it. :P

How hard it is to send one e-mail to all those who ordered the instead of wasting time dealing this one by one on the phone/e-mail?
I know they must receive tons of e-mails in a day but it would be nice to get a respond to my e-mail even if it only read "Sod off!". If they don't plan to reply the e-mails they should remove the address from their webpage.
Anyways, out goes my second e-mail.

I called today and got them to email me a prepaid shipping lable so I can ship it back to them tomorrow. On a related note, I was given the "$20 off coupon" deal, which I was complacent with. A question for those who took this deal: when did you actually get your coupon? I got my fedex email with my label immediately, but I haven't received the coupon yet...does that come with the CC chargeback or what? Just wondering...

Dug this out of the trash to tell that I was issued a refund of $24.99 and told I can keep the item. Still no Pro but it's good enough for me.

Gamestop gave you a 4 port game switcher for free yet you're still going to complain?
I think we're getting a bit greedy now.

I had to pay $24.99 shipping for a product that I didn't order. Anyways, it's not about that, it's about having double (or triple, whatever it is in this case) standards for the customers. We all ordered the same thing, complained and it seems we all got a different deal in the end.

I agree your getting greedy. You all made out pretty well in the end. I would just be happy with what i had gotten.

I will need to call them. It has been a good two weeks since they ARRIVED back at GameStop and only one of the two have been refunded. And with the one that was, they didn't refund the shipping cost I paid. I bet those fukking coupons are expired now, too... I won't use them and order until I get all my money back.
