Well, i didn't see one, so I'll start it. If you guys have other plans, lock this.

I think this thread should be used for us to list sellers or buyers we as a Classic Gaming community have had significant issues with. Ebay name, and why we want them blacklisted.

My nomination is a seller named rypolly . They sell a number of things, but I've seen them move multiple ColecoVisions, and Atari 2600's. I am certain that he is not a gamer, but an Ebay enthusiast who has figured out that old games = money.

I noticed off the bat in an Atari auction that rypolly was local for me. I emailed and asked if local pickup was possible, and he said yes. Lost that auction, but noticed a ColecoVision they were also auctioning. I won that one a few days later. I ask about local pickup...and he says No, shipping only. I e-mail him a copy of his e-mail saying that he would do local pickup, and he still says no way. So I pay shipping, and mail him a MO as he won't take paypal. Since I was annoyed, I looked at a few of his other auctions, and noticed something unpleasant. All of his gaming systems were listed as "tested" ... except for the CV I won. It was "untested", and the only one of four listed systems that wasn't. Oh oh. I was new then and had missed that. Oh oh.

The CV comes. Poorly packed in a thin box. With the auction items, a broken Ratshack computer joystick, and old RCA VCR remote, and some plastic dinosaurs (those last 3 things not in the auction or pictured). I notice that he had not left me feedback after recieving payment. I emailed him asking about my feedback only. He then left me positive feedback, only after I persisted. The next day, I complain to him about the poor shipping, the broken bits of unlisted crap in the box, the communication mixup, and the fact that this untested CV did not work AT ALL, and it cost me more than I thought it would to get, due to his unreasonable payment and shipping stipulations. rypolly says, " I gave you a good feedback, you owe me one."
>:(

I told him he would get at best a Neutral from me, if he did not refund me my shipping costs. I ate the "non working" part because he did claim untested. FUNNY..but he had time to test 4 other old systems!! I guess the ONE he did not test just HAPPENED to be non working. yeah, right. After much whining and complaining, he refunded me (via paypal >:( i had to snail mail him a MO!! >:( ) my shipping, and I left him an neutral sounding positive.

To this day, I feel like I sold him a feedback he did not deserve. He has negatives now (3 out of 40 some) but he had no negatives then.

RYPOLLY

Ebay opportunist, and cagey seller. In my opinion. Still sells old systems.

Completed listing of this thread, as of 15/1/2008 Thanks to Severthe7th

I know this was a bad ebay situation, but, you have to admit the plastic dinosaurs being included is funny. I just busted out laughing when I read that. Sorry :)

The only inconsistancy I find with this story is that you said you left him a neutral feedback, although he has no neutral feedbacks at all?

I'd add the user "dml24us" to the list. I've won 2 game gear games off this user on November 17th and recieved them today...er yesterday ... December 8th.

Also -- the 2 loose game gear games came in a small yellow envelope. No padding or any kind of protection. The package came with a hole in it, probably from the transit, but putting no padding or anything of the sort makes for no excuse. Grrr...

Why can't everyone be like the PacMan board game lady. The auction ended and nobody bid... I was watching it and forgot to bid on it. I e-mailed her asking if she's still intrested in selling it. I send out the payment and recieve it quickly and it's even gift wrapped. :-)

Cheers,
-Sean

No offense but I dont think that is really that bad, 21 days for shipping is only 3 weeks, and surface mail CAN take up to 4 weeks. Second I have had many games shipped to me and shipped out games in small yellow envelops (They are bubble mailers though) and have never had a problem. I think the black list should ONLY be used for sellers who:
1) Take your money and run
2) Tries to change the details of an auction afterwards (only sending you a toploader w/o the controllers for same price)
3) Tries to really gouge you on shipping (not just a couple dollars over but 3 times or more what it should be)

I would like to say stay away from ebay user: jonomac ONLY if you are an International bidder. I had made special arangements with him to buy a SNES game. (normally he ships US only) After telling me shipping would be $3.00 +insurance=$5.00. After winning the auction he told me that shipping would be $22.00. After arguing with him for a while, he brought it back down to the $5.00. Game came about 4 weeks after payment (postmark was for 3 weeks after payment) so it really only took a week) When the game finaly did come it was extremely dirty with an unknown gunk (I dont think I want to know) all over the game. After extensive cleaning the game did work. He never left me feedback, so I didn't want any retalitory if I left him neutral or negative. Therefore both his record and mine (incase of retalitory) remain clean (all positives). So I would just reccomend that if you are out side of the U.S. you dont make any deals with him as he seems to be fine within the U.S. (Based on his feedback.)

I guess I've been lucky with the things I bought off ebay. I have more problems with the people that buy stuff from me...in form of non-paying bidders:

**mermaid**, stochu99, sweetjimsmom, daman59313@aol.com, dman4457, moroman@hotmail.com, tstl@rushmore.com, 808pimpflip, samson7575, qdroghei, maff_2, black.convoy, al.orange, fredrica_54, hope_cristo, hensonbros, nikkawhat, rhibiki98, wizard-711, oldanchormom, kingjamesgoose, 211joker187, fantasylady24, staci17954

Thats the list so far. So for sellers if you get any of these people to win your auction. Beware. :-(

Too rigid. There are lots of legitimate ways to be "unsatisfied" outside of those requirements. Questionable selling policies like the fellow rypolly I mentioned. For him "untested" means "tested but not working but I don't want to say so, so I'll lie". He was obviously (to me) an opportunist trying to turn trash to gold, at the expense of others. Ebay is not a magical land devoid of personal responsibility. (i hope)

I've purchased MANY items from eBay and Yahoo! Auctions and 99.9% of the time, it was a great experience.

I'm pround of my 126 positive feedbacks. (and this is for a person who'se mostly a buyer!). But I do have 4 negative feedbacks, and they're all from one guy.. and this is because of 4 negative feedbacks I left him. I recommend that the following person be added to the SH*T-LIST!

cbutton5@cogeco.ca

This guy is a complete loser. He has over 2000 auctions under his belt, but still can't format the description if his life depended on it. Check it out:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2289&item=1978057244

Months ago he was selling NES games like there ain't tomorrow, but at the same time he was sucking on shipping charges. He will sell a 5$ game for only 2$ but then charge crazy shipping amounts.

This guy lived ~15 miles away from me, yet charged me close to 25$ on shipping 4 games. Since he said he wouldn't combine shipping, I assumed that he'd ship each game SEPERATELY. Not only were they shipped together, the packing was terrible, couple of the games were destroyed in the shipping (not even bubble wrap envelop.. just regular envelop!) but he paid 2.50$ for shipping at the post office!

>:(

Stay away from scammers that have just dirty description.. all it means is that they're trying to hide something.

I would like to nominate sasso205

Like a fool I paid $3.50 for a NES Genie just because it was black. (I later realized that what I REALLY wanted was the black adaptor to put the genie in my top loader) But I went ahead with the transaction anyway. I sent him $3.50 for the item and $3.50 for shipping. I'm sorry but if I list in my auctions that shipping is $3.50 the it is for priority shipping on something as small as that.

When I got the item it was jammed so tightly into the bubble envelope that he had to bend the plastic part just to get it in and then only paid $1.09 for shipping. So for poor shipping and packing prices I say that SASSO205 gets blacklisted!

not trying to defend the seller in the post above but you can't send anything USPS Priority Mail for $3.50. The minimum charge is $3.95. I never send anything to anyone I don't know without a Delivery Confirmation and that is $.45 making it $4.30 minimum to send Priority Mail.

From Yahoo Auctions: Botte1 http://user.auctions.shopping.yahoo.com/user/botte1

He has been selling photocopied manuals and CD-r Sega-CD games. He overcharges for shipping (n64 w/controller 9.99BIN+$45shipping). He lies about the condition of his products. His Feedback is a fun read though. :P

from Ebay:

jthomp22@cs.com - http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=jthomp22&completed=0&sort=3&since=-1&include=0&page=1&rows=25

- Watch this guy, he has auctions with pictured MIB but nothing was. I won a Genesis 3 system pictured MIB /w 10 boxed games. What I got was a loose Gen 3 with a cracked case and a controller that didn't work. Also of the 10 games I recieved, Jthump put in two Strider's and took out Shinobi III and Sonic 3D. Wouldn't answer email on the transaction.

Funny thing is, a friend of mine and I were reading his feedback just the other day. I was gonna add him to the list, but I figured someone who has dealt with him should. I love the part how he buys from a guy just to complain he is stealing his pics. Yet, he sells games that dont even match the pics. Someone should kick him in the shin!

Hey, he puts his address, why not everyone forward any aol cds they get. BTW I love the $100 handeling charge for Intl. bidders

Here's my bad bidder list: creamy5, mikekimce, cridera, a12-k93, channel_i_guy, si1ver5ky, capthowdy625, in_sk8, lorena_wat, dab21391, btrack24, jimmymac1013, michealthekanesmoker, gekinet, man315, nostalgia_junkie

I'm going to nominate bbu9715965 for being a total whack job when it comes to sellers. First I ordered an MVS cart from him, service was good, Priority mail, packaging wasn't so great but they are made to handle being ruffed around you know? So then I order a Hyper Neo m/b. BIN was $55 with shipping at $20. So I figure, it must be going priority. Pay with Paypal within minutes after using the BIN. A business week goes by, nothing. It's not like it's Christmas season, it's mid spring, all other mail I've been getting is superfast. So I email him, and I get some incoherent email back about he sent it, but I shouldn't worry. Oh, that and a threat to block me from his email and ebay auctions. Whoop to do, give me my damn board first.

2 weeks go by, still nothing. So I email him again for a tracking # and explaining to him, that it probably shouldn't take so long. Being a total ass, he refuses to give it to me. Fine, buddy....I'll take the damn $50 loss. So I go bid on another Hyper Neo with more stuff with it. Sniped the auction, won, and the new board shows up a few days later.

At week 3 and still no Hyper Neo from Bill Burger. Fine, he's got an AOL address, let's see if we can catch him on AIM. BOOM! He's there. 3 weeks and still no board? It's time to do some pestering. I ask what method he sent it? Priority, Media, Parcel? What? His responce: there's no way for me to tell since I send out tons of each everyday. So I pester him more, and he finally gives me the damn tracking number.

One month exactly from the day he sent it it arrived. The only problem? He sent it media for $10 >:( I'm starting to wonder where my extra $10 was. I left a nuetral saying it finally arrived but shipping was over $10, so he leaves me a negative saying I'm the worst bidder. It's the only negative I've ever recieved. And about the package, rather lack there of? It was shipping in the factory box, so no extra padding or precaution was taken...not even fragile stamps on the top.

I will only accept cash balances, eChecks, & Instant Transfers NOT funded by your credit card with PayPal

LOL

Like I'd ever give paypal my bank account! How is this guy getting away with selling bootleg games? How is he getting away with shipping charges of 30 dollars for a crappy dc, and some pirated games?

weeks ago i bought a "surprise box" from him for 27.00 total. the list of things that would be in it were valuable electronics and minimum value of the package was $350, maximum $750. i got an e-mail from him saying that all packages have been shipped and he would send the tracking numbers soon. he never sent the numbers. then i get an e-mail from one of the bidders asking me to sign a petition. i e-mailed the seller to see if he would give the tracking number and i get an auto-response saying that their internet is down, but they are not a fraud like rumors say. there is a phone number on there too and i am going to call it tomorrow when i buy a calling card.

I've been extremely blessed in my eBay dealings, with only a few lousy bidders. These are the only ones currently on my blocked list: nil8, t.clos, emilie83. The first one is on there due to what I'd heard about them, while the latter are simply as a result of NPBs.

However, a few months ago me and several other bidders discovered that a sealed NES game seller was selling resealed copies. We eventually made him confess to it, and mailed all of the evidence we had collected to eBay. Luckily the two games I bought off of him were legit (he got greedy afterward), but a bunch of people got screwed. I can't remember his ID (it was kak something), but it doesn't really matter anyway since that ID is no longer a registered user.

Oh joy. 2 of my last 5 auctions have ended with non paying bidders. 40% ratio. Whoop de frickin doo.

fozzietoo - supposedly bid by "accident"

So I immediately offered it, second chance style to the second highest bidder(within 10 mins of auction end!)...and he doesn't want it either! Does anyone who frickin bids actually mean it? This is very frustrating. I'm probably gonna ban them both (second chance bidder too) from bidding on any of my auctions.

/rant
If this gets any worse, Ebay may be pointless! A nearly 50% NPB ratio makes auctions a lot more work. /end rant/

archie116 - this was my very first experience with e-bay. I had just modded my PSX, and, being big into anime at the time, was looking into importing the (terrible) Ranma 1/2 fighting game. The guy listed that it was a great game, but that it was an import, so I needed a modded system. Perfect, no problem. Also said that it came "w/case and insert". Whe I got it, it was a crappy CD-R with a crappy label, and the "insert" was just the cover of the instruction manual and looked like it had been printed with a dot matrix printer. I mailed him about it and received no response. Not wanting to make enemies, I left a neutral feedback, with a positive sounding slant. That's when I read his feedback and saw this little gem.

Complaint : prompt deliver, did not mention it was a cheap instructionless dub at full price
Response by archie116 - Never asked if there were instructions included with the game

So anyway, a couple months later, I get an e-mail from someone claiming to be with the FBI about this guy, and, well, he's no longer registered. In any case, anyone seeing this name or a variation of it in any online auction house would do well to beware. I wish I could remember his real name, but it's long since been lost, sorry.

from Ebay:
jthomp22@cs.com ...
- Watch this guy...(snip)

it's a gal, actually. and she's a TERRIBLE seller, as far a packaging goes. if you read the auction descriptions on here stuff it DOES say that the item pictured may not be the item up for bid. nothing dishonest in that per se, but it's rare that she admits to a screw-up. the last 3 auctions i won from her arrived in busted cases because she REFUSES to ship in boxes or via priority mail even though she charges that rate for shipping! that, and the cheap manila envelopes, cheapest bubble wrap in the world, and lousy communication made me drop her as a seller like a third testicle.

i complained to her about her lousy packing, and she sent me an e-mail that said "your mailman must be a real beast. i send out 300 games a week, and they all arrive in good condition." a quick check of her feeback revealed otherwise. i showed the last package i got from her to the supervisor at the post office here, and he almost died laughing. "how much did you pay for shipping again?" i got, along with "if she thinks that anything she's sending like that is gonna survive in the system, it's not gonna happen"...grrrrr >:(

oh, i have a short list of scumbag sellers as well. i'll have to post it soon, but i'm waiting to see if one of these creeps comes through as promised with my refund... :hmm:

I know exactly who your talking about. His ebay name was kakrotto, (Alex), last summer was trying to pull that off, but got caught. Little weasel! I purchased some games from him also, but they all seem to be intact, but how can you tell a factory sealed game from a super mint intact rewrap its very difficult. Remember e-bay can seem like a roll of the dice and I'm sure there are others like him out there now. So BE CAREFUL!

Unfortunately there are a lot of eBay sellers that don't left feedback after receiving payment. They wait you to give feedback first...

Yeah, I've had the same problem...I've left feedback for over 220 transactions while my feedback is currently at 145...that's a little less than half of the people I've dealt with who haven't left feedback. In the past, I've waited patiently for a response, sometimes emailing them to see if they were satisfied with their purchases. I often get glowing email responses, but they don't bother leaving feedback. I mean, geeze! How hard is it to click a button or two and write something simple as "thanks" or "great job?" I don't even hold my breath anymore. Maybe my auctions suck. :-(

I must post VGE007 for the black list. I won an auction for $10. I did not want to get a money order so I just sent him a 10 dollar bill. Well, weeks go by and I send him an e-mail asking where is my game. he responds "you sent cash. I only take money orders sorry you not follow rules" So a) I know he got the $10 bill because I never told him I sent cash and b) because I did not follow his rules he can steal my money??. Plus look at his neg. feedback people post "DVD were crap and no sound" his response? " hey you pay $1.50 for DVD you want nice ones? win one of my expensive auctions"

What a turd!

I found an old email I saved on my Macintosh from an old eBay deal that went sour. beware of this person:

Malcolm Stiefel (sometimes known as Colm)
1217 A Duane Rd
Chattanooga TN 37405

He took my $21.50 + $5 for an AV Famicom console and never got back. His email address (stiefel2000@webtv.net) bounced a couple weeks later and was no longer registered on eBay (originally as geoguy23, and oneworldfashions was the last known eBay ID) >:( >:(

According to the email, the deal was closed on Aug 1999 and he dissapeared on 14th of September. Since his eBay account was closed, I couldn't get the phone number.

I searched Google groups, and his name or email address never turned up.

If you haven't seen my posts on AA about this guy, be on the lookout for him. He had a boxed Sentinel for 7800 with a Buy It Now of $99 and an opening price of $1. I bid the low ball amount (it's really not that rare) but with two hours to go he cancelled the auction; then he relisted the same game with a HIGHER Buy It Now. He charges $8 shipping even for single boxed games on all of his auctions, and he snipes low Buy It Nows on games and marks them up for double the amount to resell (he's done it on 7800 Ikari Warriors several times). His feedback profile is hidden for a reason - he's a real scumbucket. I recommend you avoid this guy like bubonic plague.

from Ebay:
jthomp22@cs.com ...

:hmm:

Yeah, I checked out their feedback and I would agree. I mean an 8000+ feedback rating is great, but over 230 unique negs and almost another 200 neutrals tells me this seller has issues. A 1 in 20 chance of getting the shaft is not good (negs + neutrals)

Sigh, here's a new one...carnell2775, name Jaime Carnell.

Here's the auction I won...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4315&item=3014213593&rd=1

Looks pretty good for the price, eh? Especially since it has an older Nintendo Fun Club newsletter included. I e-mail the seller before bidding, asking about the shipping price. Got it, was reasonable. Won auction, waited a day, then paid with Paypal. Two days later (today) I get this e-mail...

"This is the first chance I had to review the auction. I am sorry but the final fantasy poster alone is worth $10 to me."

So I write him back and tell him that according to ebay's rules, he has to sell the auction at the final price whatever it is or risk discinplinary action from ebay. I also told him that if he refunded my money I'd let the whole thing drop, but I've got a bad feeling dipshit here is gonna screw me over.

Now I'm waiting for a reply, we'll see what happens.

Avoid this guy....I won something from him one time and sent payment. He said that it was all boxed and ready to ship. Two weeks went by and I didn't get what I won from him.

He claims that the package was returned..though I had listed my address very clearly on the payment I sent.

I finally got the item..but left him neutral feedback.

Avoid him if you can. If you can't, just be wary of him.

seller: danny_and_julie

I won a complete D (PSX) for $10 (about half the usual price) plus $5 shipping. A good deal. The seller receives the payment and posts positive feedback for me. A couple of weeks later, I get an email from the seller explaining that her computer's power supply died and she was using her husband's computer but then her husband had a death in the family and they went out of town and could I please send my shipping address again because things WILL be shipped in the next two days.

That was March 9. So I replied with my address by direct email. A couple of weeks later I sent an inquiry asking whether the item had been shipped, as I had not received it. Then another a couple of days later, as I didn't hear back. And then another. I used both direct email and ebay's "ask seller a question" feature.

A week later is today, so I send a direct email asking about the item, and find that my host has been blocked. So the seller got tired of hearing from me and blocked my direct email rather than send a reply. I fired off the same message through ebay's message system, saying I would leave a neg if I didn't hear back something by Monday, and also saying that I wouldn't leave a neg if I got a refund for the bid price and shipping.

Assuming that I never hear back from the seller, this would be my first genuinely bad ebay experience.

PiazzaPower

A long time ago, I did an auctin for a lot of SNES games. The lady paid, I sent her games. The post office should be at fault, because it took them awhile to get the games to her, and she blames me for them getting to her so late.

A year later, I put up another auction. She won this auction too (A lot fo 60 SNES games). She said "I didn't this know was you. If you send the games faster than before, I'll deal with you." So I decided to send her the games first, and I never received my $320 from her. She never replied to my e-mails or nothing. I didn't even get a chance to leave her a negative or to get my games back!

For some reason I think this may be the same guy as treasurehunter2002usa.

I bought my CD-i player off this guy that was stated to be in mint condition. Wrong-o.

The unit had some pretty definite scuffs and scratches on top of the unit, and when I flipped it over, there were rust spots!!

Not only that, the eject operation didn't work. He refused to work with me until I kept harassing him and he gave me $15 refund if I promised to keep the Mail Fraud off his butt. The catch is that I already submitted the paperwork to incriminate him before I asked for the refund :-D

I just got the unit back from service and it cost me $55 to repair back to the manufacturers specs. It would have cost an ordinary schmo $100 without the discount.

He gave me a negative retaliatory feedback too stating that I tried to return a different unit than the one he sent me.....scumbag...[/b]

I won this auction from him awhile back. I paid him using paypal instantly, and after more than two weeks of waiting for the package it never arrived. I emailed him kindly asking if he sent the package. He returned my email with quite a rude response stating that he just doesn't have the time to ship items right away. This was two weeks later! I filed a complaint with Squaretrade and Paypal, and after a month of no sign of the package Paypal luckily forced a chargeback on the amount I had paid. After that, this guy sent me a nasty email stating if he did not receive the item back in 30 days he would leave me a negative as well! Well, I never received the package in the first place! He ended up leaving me a negative anyway, and now I'm trying to file for a feedback removal through ebay...hopefully that works. My advice to any ebay buyer is to steer very clear from this con-artist.

My fault for doing a deal outside eBay, but I had bid on the auction. The seller sent me an e-mail stating the high bidder could not pay and offered it to me. I said sure and PP'd the money. Well... nerver got the items and never heard anything again. I e-mailed several times to ask, "did you send the items?" and nothing, not a word. I filed a complaint with PP and it's in the works. They real problem is it was paid out of my PP balance and not my CC! Oh well, at least it wasn't a large sum of money!

If that ever happens again, tell the seller to send you a "Second-Chance Offer" through eBay on the auction -- at least then eBay has a record that the transaction took place. He might have still left you twisting in the wind, but your case for protection (and his rear getting booted) would be a lot stronger.

You're right. I never have had a bad deal when doing this, but that's no excuse. I been on eBay for years now and usually they are on the up and up, plus I tend to buy from the same sellers over and over again. In the last year or two I have branched out to other sellers, and have taken the risk of new sellers too. All with success I might add. :)

He BINed my auction for Baku Baku for Sega Saturn. Usually I offer free shipping with BINs, which is standard bare bones media mail. He pays with PayPal, I mail it, he gets it, he leaves positive feedback. A few days later he emails me claiming he never received it and wanting a tracking number, to which I replied that there wasn't one since it was free shipping and he should give it a few days since it's media mail. Unfortunately I hadn't noticed that he had already left me positive feedback at the time, or I would've known something was up.

A few hours later he files a non-receipt complaint with PayPal, and since I don't have any tracking proof I eventually had to issue a full refund. I try contacting him numerous times through email with nary a response (a sure sign that he's scamming me, as if the positive feedback wasn't enough). PayPal, of course, completely ignores every email I fire off through the "appropriate channels".

Ignore the positive feedback I gave him (jaredvgh)...this guy is SCUM. He's forced me to entirely change the way I do business on eBay, which is basically to go by the new mantra of "don't trust anybody". That only hurts buyers in the end.

I still need to post the email exchange with this seller over the auction that triggers my warning to others. I actually need advice on what to do about feedback at this point.

Anyway, just noticed the seller has opened a new account as "islandgamer2003" even after changing userids as mentioned above, despite telling me that they were leaving eBay shortly after my run-in with them. Oh, well. So it goes.

Well I decided to sell my copy of Panzer Dragoon Orta. I put a great BIN price (buy it now at a little lower price works for me on auctions). Anyways the guy pays on sunday using paypal.

This is the e-mail I get from him with the original payment.-

I am paying for shipping anyway because this absolutely must be shipped PRIORITY MAIL WITH DELIVERY CONFIRMATION.Please give me the tracking # when it is shipped. Please pack this well and make sure that it is in the condition you have described it to be in.Not 'fair' or 'good' but 'excellent' just as you state in the listing.Thank you.

No problem there, I can seehim wanting this as it is a rare game, whatever, and shipping always comes with confirmation.

Anyways, that was on Sunday, so Wed I get to work to check my e-mail (phone line is being worked on at home so no e-mail). I see my box has 457 messages. The most I have ever had after a week on vacation was 75. So I see I have almost 400+ e-mails from this yahoo saying I ripped him off blah blah blah, and then sends me a bill from paypal saying this-

I got a warning about you right after I bought your game.Since then,I have talked to some other people and found out that some of them are still waiting after several weeks.I think you better refund every penney right now.The $105 + the extra $1 I sent you + 10% interest for the loan under false pretense. That is a total of $116.60 you owe me. I have no intention of tolerating the extreme delay and/or rip off from someone like you. Make the refund or give me a tracking # on Thursday or I call the Springfield MO authorities and inform them of the laws you are breaking..I have been in touch with a dozen users and some of them are pretty pissed off at you. I personally will track your ass down if you try to rip me off. I have your address on Inghram Mill Rd and I intend to confirm it and use it if you don't make the refund or give me a tracking # within 24 hours..If you give me a tracking #,the parcel better be delivered by Monday or you will be in deep shit..If you don't answer me within 24 hours, you will be in deep shit. The distance won't save you..Nobody rips me off and gets away with it.

Okay I am not going to be rude to this guy, because its obvious he is either some guy who is either under age or has extreme issues. I have two negative feedbacks on selling. One is from someone who says that the tiem was never shipped when they recieved tracking and you can tell by going to the usps page and finding such, they also said my number is a fake which isn't true, it's my cell phone number ( I am not giving my home number out) If they didn't get an answer they should have at least recieved my voice mail. The other feedback was because I took too long to ship a DVD. That one I completely take the blame for. It was something that slipped through the cracks. They got a tracking number and know it was shipped. 18 days isn't forever especially considering the way things I have won have been shipped to me. Everyone who has one items from me has been e-mailed item delivery confirmation numbers the day they are shipped. So I really don't know where this guy is getting his info. I refunded his money as I don't want to deal with this tool in any way shape or form its complete and utter bull***t. But we all have to deal with it

SkulNChain@aol.com is his e-mail and umabody is his ebay sn. He is an aol kiddie so I may have to keep a watch on this guy, but he is added to my list.

Sorry for the long diatribe, but I have never had such problems with a buyer.

Oh lord...if only I had seen this earlier, I could have avoided the mess I'm in now.
I bought a Pioneer Laseractive CLD-A100 off this guy. He charged me $40 shipping although the sticker on the package i got says it was around $15. But at this point, I didn't even care. In the description for the auction it says it is in GREAT working condition, but 15 minutes after getting it and testing it out, it stops working. I'm guessing there was a short in the power supply, but I don't know much about this. He hasn't helped me a bit in trying to get it resolved, so I'm pretty much on my own trying to get it repaired. My friend Eric Dude posted my problem here (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20941) if anyone wants to look at it and can help me out.

I don't know if this person has tried to scam you via PayPal, but she
has done this to a number of people, using several IDs. She is also
using stolen identities to sign these accounts up and is likely using
stolen credit cards to buy things as well. This person is bad news. What i
need is a real address she has provided. It looks like she might have
had reason to give you a real adress, can you go back thru your records
and provide me with the Ohio residence you provided you with? This would
help a great number of people who she has ripped off, as many of us are
working together now to stop her.

Thanks and best regards,

Wow almost a year since I replied to this topic. I have one person to add to the list which was a seller...Username ECW94. Bought a game from him and was constantly delayed about when he would ship. Finally after 3 months and no game I left feedback and found he has multiple bad trader reports now on UGTZ as well.

This is such a great topic!

I'm lucky in that I've only had a couple of bad experiences on eBay. One of those was from a user no longer registered, but I do want to warn you about a guy named Add61. A number of years ago (I was a lot younger and it was one of my early eBay experiences) I bought a couple of VHS tapes from him containing all of the old Legend of Zelda cartoons from the Super Mario Bros. Supershow. Except, he never sent them. He never answered any of my e-mails or AIM messages, either. I later found out he'd done this to a number of others as well.

Every now and then, I'll check to see if he's selling anything. He usually isn't, but one time I spotted him trying to sell those Zelda tapes again. I actually e-mailed the high bidder and warned him about the seller. He cancelled his bid after that. :)

The only other addition to the list I would like to add is PayPal itself. I know a lot of people use it and like it, but I've had friends get seriously ripped off by people on PayPal, and since PayPal isn't bound to any of the federal laws that actual banks and such are bound to, they pretty much don't care. One friend of mine got ripped off of over $800 because the other guy in the transaction used a stolen credit card. After that he found out all kinds of horrible things about PayPal at a site called www.paypalwarning.com

I cancelled my account after that, and suggest anyone else do the same. It's easy enough to switch to something like BidPay or C2it, which are actually bound by federal laws.

josecastillo95127@yahoo.com

canadianblake <umpete24@cc.UManitoba.CA>
Computer and cartridges
(ignorant seller - describes MIB as good looking, but ok if not working! Payed good money for non-functioning computer and game!)

I've got a few other so-so deals, but these are the three jerks at the top of my list. Avoid them at completely!!!

Here's another one to avoid...

Stringcheeserocks

He signed up on 11/13, and the first thing he does is use a "BuyItNow" on my Sega Master System. I put in my auction that I need a "verified" Paypal address and not only did he pay with a non-verified address, the names didn't even match. I might overlook this if he had a ton of feedback, but he has "0", so I send him this email:

Thanks for winning my auction!

However, I do have one issue - As stated in the auction details, I require a confirmed address if paying via Paypal to send this to:

Payment is expected within 10 days of auction close. Payment is accepted in the form of cash (consealed at your own risk), personal checks, money orders or Paypal. Personal checks need to wait 10 days to clear. Paypal must be a *VERIFIED ADDRESS*, will not ship to any other address. Shipping is all that is charged, no handling fees because that's just bad business. All items are sold "as is" unless otherwise noted. All items shipped via US Priority Mail unless otherwise noted or unless agreed upon by the seller before the auction ends. Items shipped within 5 days of auction end. Shipping will cost more to send outside of the US. Thanks again for looking.

If I ship to your current address without a confirmed address, I have the chance of being burned and losing both the merchandise I'm sending and the money I'm making off the auction.

Here's what can be done:

1. You get your address confirmed via Paypal. Once this is done, I'll send this out ASAP.

2. I'll send you your Paypal payment back, and you can pay via Money Order.

Please let me know how you want to move forward with this.

Thanks!

Brian

He responds back with:

Well, they wont verify my address so I guess we will have to do this by money order. Let me know when you have sent paypal money back. Where should I send the money order? How much? Thanks,
Matt

It's odd that he didn't know how much he sent me the day before... so I give him his total and get this this morning:

I hate to do this but I've had a family emergency and I cant afford this at the time. I hope to buy it later if possible. Once again I apoligize and I hope I havent caused you too much trouble. Thanks,

Matt

Of course I proceed to leave him negative feedback, will be filing a NPB in a few days, etc, and sent him a "you suck" email. Just thought I'd let everyone know to watch out!

How much? Thanks,
Matt

The following is a list of non-paying bidders you should all look out for:

cokigroc
humpsandabumps
drand63
ariedalem

Most of them were too dumb to read the shipping terms and refused to comply.

The Drand63 was dumb enough to not even read the auction at all until it ended. He finally read it and changed his mind (it was for a defunct PS2).

On a side note, would it be possible to break this forum up into a bad seller and a seperate bad buyer topic?

Non-paying bidders are rough but what about non-selling sellers???

I won this auction recently....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3057452195

Now I'll admit I've had my differences with the seller in the past but what gets me is that he relisted the auction just 8 minutes after I won it...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3058845713

Then he went and banned me from bidding on his auctions, which is what he should have done originally if he didn't want me to be a potential bidder.

I also got a paypal request for payment from him a couple of days after the auction, which I paid only to promptly have it refunded with a note telling me i'm banned.

Oh well, just a heads up to everyone to beware...

John

I have a few to nominate

Coupon happy (not couponhappy as in one word, coupon happy as in 2 words) - Sells NES games, but I bought one and it came to about 1.60 total, and he responded to no eMails or anything....after leaving negative and lots of other people leaving negatives....I finally get the game about 2 months later. with no apology or anything. what a moron.

Withtheforce - Claimed on the pictureless auction that Tempo for 32X included game, case & manual...I get it in a crappy chop & crop vhs rental case...and once I left negative feedback he gets pissed because I ruined his perfect feedback for a 1.00 item.

intermediasales - won a Star Wars 32x game from him, no shipping listed, after I won would ONLY ship for 6.00 priority. And he left me negative feedback before we were even done discussing the shipping on it!

inetdvd - pissed me off the worst...I bought Clock Tower 3 from him, it had a picture of the game complete on the auction and I get it missing the instruction manual. I question him and he points me WAAAAAY down at the very bottom of the auction in tiny print saying the game may or may not include box or manual. I get pissed, ask for 5.00 back so I can buy one from Capcom, no deal...hed give me my 30.00 back but not 5.00. jerk

Lori2640 - Won an auction from me a while back, then after numerous emails with no response I finally call, reach her, and she claims her husband did the bidding and to e-mail her details tommorow and she will get it taken care of. I type the e-mail in the morning to find out that she cancelled her e-mail account.

avspecial - a LONG time ago...about 4 years...I won a dvd box set from him pretty damn cheap, about 1/2 of the going price at the time. I request a address so I can pay him for it. He emails me back saying sorry, I didnt mean to list it so cheap, I cant sell it for that price. I leave him negative and he gets pissed off at me saying "your just trying to take advantage of the situation"...this one still haunts me to this day.

Thats all for now. I love this topic

caroles-collectibles

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3251848894

bought this Buzzle Bobble from her. soulda known by the "Private Auction" that this was fake. some hacked mvs cart, with a horrible inkjet made sticker on the cart, some fake serial number on the side. and the Marquee was the worst looking thing ever.(notice the great lighting in the auction)

Cart's game works, but if you just let it sit and run it reboots itself every time it hits the title screen.

Left neg, Ebay has done nothing for me or to her. continues to sell a bunch of the same she still has.

Subject: Question for seller -- Item #3063866406

i am so sorry i thought you took credit card so please cancel this i deeply am sor

My reply:

I can't cancel this because the auction is now over. If you don't have a paypal account, I can accept a Postal Money Order too.

Her reply:

like i said i am sorry and will not be buying the book

My reply:

Alright, but I will be filing a official non-paying bidder complaint with ebay. I don't wish to be out listing and selling fees because you didn't read the terms before you bid.

Her very very stupid reply:

thats fine ihave not done anything plus i am a seller also and there is no seller fees

She's done nothing wrong? There are no seller fees? How dumb can you be? Naturally, I called her on it:

Rest assured there are fees, otherwise eBay wouldn't be making any money (although I doubt you're a seller because you only have 1 feedback, and it is as a buyer...)

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/questions/seller-fees.html

In addition, when you purchase an item, you enter a legally binding contract. Failure to pay is a violation of that contract.

Please review:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/buy/questions/unwanted-item.html
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/non-payment.html

You will not receive any other communications from this matter on my part.

In 7 days (the soonest time possible) I will file the NPB complaint, and you will get a notice from eBay stating that you need to pay. You can ignore this if you still do not want the item.
10 days after that, I will file the credit request, and you may receive another notice.

She hasn't replied, but immediately changed her username, as if she could hide.

i haven't left negative feedback yet either (although I REALLY REALLY want to!).She has a rating of 1, and as soon as I get my final value fee refunded, it will be back to 0.

I was bored and typed this up...thought other people might want to use it too.

http://www.hakanai.net/ebay/blockedbidders.txt

Its a text file of every bad bidder listed in this forum (though, thanks to Sylentwulf, I know have carpal tunnel synrome) :)

Feel free to copy and paste it into your blocked bidder list on eBay and protect yourself!

Thanks for the list! I added it in.

Remember my lame NPB who claimed he had a family emergency? I received this email today (from yet another email account than his original one):

remeber me? I tried to buy a master system but had an emergency and couldnt. It has now been a month and i have not received my money back. you have had plenty of time to do so. i am very displeased with this. you have one week to return the money before appropriate action is taken. please contact me at mattomus@msn .com as soon as possible.

Matt

Oddly enough, he asks me to reply to a different email address to the one he sent it from. Funny thing is that I refused payment via Paypal, so I never got any cash at all. I sent him this email back:

I denied payment. I never received a dime. If you haven't received any money back, it's because you haven't claimed it at Paypal. You might want to get a hold of Paypal if you're having issues. Below is a copy of the transaction (which is a cut and paste from their website). When you contact them, you might want to give them the reference # below (2HY04270A9765683X).

This should be a fun week.

Unfortunately there are a lot of eBay sellers that don't left feedback after receiving payment. They wait you to give feedback first...

This is my practice. I always leave feedback when the buyer does. It's the only protection you get as a seller. It's worked basically, as I only have one neutral so far, no negs. I'm waiting for another idiot to post something other than a positive.

Really, problems on eBay as anywhere you buy from WILL occur. Dealing with any problems is more important than payment. If the buyer OR seller won't deal with it in a reasonable fashion, someone deserves less than positive feedback. However, most of the time people can be pleased.

And for all of you complaining about shipping costs, you need to sort that out beforehand. If they don't claim 'shipping at or near cost' or give a shipping cost, you need to find it out before you bid. If you don't get a response for a shipping quote, you are bidding at your own risk. I know it's SUPER lame to gauge shipping as they try to do, but there are costs associated with shipping for all businesses, and it's just not that easy for everyone to write them off.

As well, eBay now has the shipping calculator offered. If the seller isn't using it or offering a flat rate shipping in the US, be suspicious. It's just too easy to enter shipping costs beforehand (speeds payment up afterward) not to use that feature.

Of course, I could write oodles about this, but I charge like $0.00 to $0.80 for 'handling' because I do have to buy shipping materials much of the time. And you shouldn't have to complain about a reasonable cost like that when the item is packaged well. Unfortunately that just isn't the case all the time.
