Well I don't im really trying not to use letstalk. But I guess im going to have to for the last couple.
I used LetsTalk for the first time last week... the guy on the phone was fairly coherent and very helpful. He couldn't find all the games I wanted very easily, but he eventually found everything after some hunting (their system must suck.) Quite friendly. I guess I was lucky... judging by other's comments it seems that LetsTalk isn't the best company to order from. The only thing he got wrong was Atari Collections 2 (not available yet) but I wasn't billed for it.
Games arrived three days later.
Spiffy. :D

I'm about to put together a big order with them for all the letstalk exclusive games, but I'm kind of waiting for a sale of some sort. Does anybody know if they are currently doing any sale that isn't listed on the web site? They used to have a 10% off deal that would save me a ton of cash, but it looks like thats dead now.

I asked what kind of specials they were having. The guy looked it up and said there was a 15% the total order special that was not listed on the website. Good enough for me. There's also some specials if you buy certain combinations of games but they usually include at least one older title.
Have fun.
:D :D

Anyone know what will on Atari Masterpieces 2?

i started to collect it simply because i figured it would be one of those overpriced 'this is great' systems that ends up disappearing in a year. since the first acquisition of the taco press kit, ive been on an ngage kick, buying pretty much everything on the system. i love it! even though i never play it.
still have some nfr games for trade if people have any i dont.

Anyplace to get the memory cards cheaps? Ebay looks sketchy, and Office Depot didn't eben have one. Is the memory card (for emulators and such) hard to find? How about the USB thingie???
:D
Ebay is pretty much your best and only bet. I nabbed a new 512MB MMC card a year ago for around $50 shipped on a BIN. The only place around me that still had MMC cards was best buy and they wanted $40 for 128MB--NO THANK YOU.
As for getting items on to the card you have two choices. Either buy a USB SD card reader or buy a bluetooth USB kit. They'll do the same thing, but the USB card reader will be faster I believe. But by using bluetooth you can backup your contacts and calender and crap, and you can use Nokia's software for converting movies to 3GP--which actually is decent and pretty fast.

I have been using letstalk for the past 6 weeks and have not had a problem with them at all. I have gotten about 6 games from them, and they ship really fast. It sucks having to pay retail for the games, but then again, I might as well seeing as I got most of the games for 3 or less when I started collecting for it anyway.

yeah its one of if not my favorite N-Gage game as Advance Wars is one of my favorite GBA games.
last year Nokia did a poll to see what people wanted to see on the N-Gage and Advance Wars was the highest voted so I think High Seize was their solution to what the N-Gage owners wanted.
IGN even gave it a pretty good review.

I just noticed the poll.
I've been collecting N-Gage on and off since I got the system back at launch. It gives me things to play on my phone other than NES games. Plus, it's been nice to go into stores and find stacks of games for $6.99 or less.
How about the USB thingie???
If you want to go the USB route, go buy a PSP USB cable. They both use the same thing. Matter of fact, I use my N-Gage one for the PSP. LOL

'Tis a sad day indeed. I got my N-Gage stolen in the locker room, fuckin public high schools!

02-01-2006, 07:28 PM
Yeah, I've had a sad month... I finally ordered a QD, but it was stolen out of my apartment rental office. :-( Luckily the vendor replaced it (though with the wrong carrier's SIM card, so I STILL can't use it for a few days), and Cingular has been good about it -- not charging me for a second activation, helping me get ringtone orders I didn't make off my bill -- but I've already paid for a whole month in which I didn't actually get to use the phone I'm paying for. Grr...

I just got my last two N-Gage games for a complete lcollection, SSX and Puzzle Bobble. I have decided that Sega Rally does indeed suck, just like you all said. What a waste. I am playing the hell out of three games... Ashen, High Seizes, and Mile High Pinball. Looks like this thing is going to keep me busy! I also ordered and MMC card and I'm interested in playing some emulators and watching some movies. I'm done now.

OK. I'm lost now an i'm an idiot. Need help. Everyone has been so helpful here so I came here first.
I have a QD. I also have a 1g MMC chip. I DO NOT use my QD as a cell phone. I have Sprint as a carrier and they don't support the N-Gage.
1. I downloaded the DVD convertor and got a DVD converted over the the correct file type fine and I got it into to the MMC chip. My phone recognizes the file. However, I do not have the DVD player in my applications file on my QD. How the hell do I get it?
2. I downloaded a bunch of emulators. They all require Bluetooth to connect with the QD. What do I do? My PC doesn't have it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE. I got a Bluetooth adaptor for my laptop and it didn't work. It looks like I'm screwed on the emulator thing unless you folks have another option.
I borrowed a friend's SIM card and the phone DOES connect... is there a place I can download the DVD player to my QD so I can play DVD-to-MMC movies?
Help? Anyone?

I'm a newbie to the Ngage collecting world, or at least kind of. My girlfriend got me a QD system for Valentine's day, so I can finally play all of the games I picked up while Gamestop/Eb were blowing them out. I'm at 41 games right now and am looking at getting some of the newer releases from LetsTalk.com. Are there any that are becoming harder to find? How many titles are there right now? I've seen a few emulators for the system, but what else can I do with it? I've already unlocked it and have a 128mb MMC, so I think I'm ready to go!

The NES emulator is SUPER COOL. The MAME and SMS emulators depend on the game you're running. The SNES emulator... not so much.
You can convert your DVD's into a file format the Ngage can read.
The rarest game I know of (and I'm not the expert... that would be classicb) would be Sega Rally. It was only released in the Pacific region (Australia, some Asian countries) and it SUCKS. Not very many tracks AND they didn't even bother to use the same tracks from the Arcade/Saturn version! Your car just seems to float along. It's the only game that hasn't been released in the States.

I think the true indicator will come at this years GDC in March. If no new games are announced then I think its safe to say we're not getting anymore games.
However, I think we will hear about some new games. I think Nokia wants to continue developing games so they have some really good titles when they launch the download system for their other Nokia Smartphones.
For people who don't frequent the N-Gage Arena it is still active and Nokia continues to hold tournaments where you can win stuff. Nokia is still active with the N-Gage and I would be surprised if we heard nothing come this March.
I could see Nokia giving up on the US market though since the N-Gage is all but dead here with only one online retailer. The N-Gage is much more popular overseas in Spain and Germany.
Also to add to what fishsandwich said I like the GB/GBC emulator for the N-Gage. It runs and looks great its really the only one I use.

So letstalk.com decided to put release dates on their upcoming games. Who knows how accurate they are but i don't remember them ever doing this before.
Warhammer 40,000 - March 23rd, 2006
Civilization - March 28th, 2006
Atari Masterpieces 2 - April 18th, 2006
Payload - May 23rd, 2006
There could be something to this delay though since the Game Developers Conference is March 20-24. Maybe Nokia will have some big news. Nokia does have an event at the confrence called "The Next Generation of Mobile Gaming by Nokia"

I recently picked up an Ngage. I opted to pay $100 and get a cheaper mothy rate. Works out to be $20 less in the long run. I got 4 games at that time; Catan, Worms, Pocket Kingdom, and High Sieze. I was surprised to find a pack-in Tony Hawk when I received the system.
Today I went to Gamestop to see what they had. When I asked the manager if they had any, he said "No,....errr yes." Not a good sign. I picked up Glimmerati, The Roots, and Requiem of Hell, each $6.99. The guy who checked me out said Wow when Ibrought them up. I asked if it had been a long time since he sold any. He said it was the first time. O_O
Overall, I'd say that I am a bit surprised by the Ngage. I'm having more fun than I thought I would. But it is still a flawed machine.
I do have to say, though, that the game case design is brilliant. I keep two of those platic holders snapped together, so I can carry 8 games in one small package.

I'll second the comments made about Sega Rally being the rarest / hardest to get hold of N-Gage game out there. I got mine by pure chance, and I remember a time when we were all speculating whether or not it even existed...
Also, Nokia recently announced these games, so there may be hope yet:
Unreleased / Coming Soon
Atari Masterpieces - Volume II (March 06)
Hinter Wars: The Aterian Invasion (Just Announced)
NBA 2006 (Just Announced)
Payload (April 06)
Shade: Wrath Of Angels (Just Announced)
Shadow-Born (Just Announced)
SPIRITS (TBA)
Warhammer 40,000: Glory In Death (March 06)
Xyanide (Just Announced)[/i]
Whether or not all of them make it is another story... Although, I do agree with what was said above about Nokia maybe wanting a few more games added to the list ready for the new wave of compatable smartphones that they intend to integrate N-Gage technology in as standard...

here are a couple of links.
http://ngage.dcemu.co.uk/
http://www.zophar.net/consoles/ngage.html
the verticle screen starts to become an issue with emulators. the Vampnet GBC (http://vampent.com/emu.htm) is the best emulator for the n-gage. It plays full speed and full screen. NES plays full speed but the screen options aren't that great.
GREAT. The GB emulator was so fantastic that I bought it. Then I had to reformat my memory card. Now Vampent's site (the emulator writers) has been down for four days and I can't get my activation code and my e-mails are bouncing. I'm back to SMS now.
Anyone know what happened to www.Vampent.com?
fishsandwich
03-01-2006, 09:27 AM
UPDATE. Vampent is now back up and running... I have no idea what happened. I tried to make due with a SMS emulator with a bunch of SMS and GB game, but it just wasn't the same thing for many reasons. Number one- the games available for the SMS and GG just aren;t as good as the GB/GBC games, especially when you're talking about portability. The SMS games are fit to the N-gage screen, amking them weird-looking and the text near impossible to read. The GG games fare better as they are letterboxed, but the GG library simply isn't as good or as bountiful as that of the GB/GBC. Number two- the emulator just isn't as good as the GB/GBC one. It seems the emulator won't run the largest games (VF Animation being one) and you have to keep exiting out and going back to change games. It S a nice way to run rare GG games like Panzer Dragoon Mini and Gunstar Heroes, though. Plus the emulator is free. That being said, I'm glad Vampent is back.

so we're almost done with collecting the physical mmc cards for the n-gage. we're at 54 including Sega Rally. it seems we'll only get two more with Payload and Warhammer. Nokia made it pretty clear that they're moving ahead to the download format. So it looks like our N-Gage collections will top out at 56 games.
I know there are other games Nokia has announced like Shadow Born but my thinking now is those games will be launch titles for their download system.

Ah, you got a LetsTalk idiot. I have been lucky enough not to encounter one, but I've heard stories. When I called late last year, even my seemingly knowledgable salesman said that Atari Volume 2 was in stock. I wasn't... it still had months to go. They didn't bill me for it and instead automatically shipped it when it was released.

Does anyone know what happened to the Leisure Suit Larry game that was supposed to come out around the same time as the Xbox and PS2 game?

i don't really follow that type of stuff but I do believe the game was at least part way through development so there might be something floating around out there.

Has anyone recieved Warhammer yet? Its listed as instock on letstalk.com now.
I didn't get a shipping confirmation but it disappeared off my back order list of two games. Now only Payload is left.
Just had to pop in and say something in this thread. I got an N-Gage the other day in the big clearance and I'm converted :)
First, I was able to unlock it to work with my T-Mobile SIM card. Then I got UltraMP3 on there, along with MAME and a handful of games. Then I got into checking out Smartmovie and its capabilities and am completely impressed with everything the N-Gage can do.
It's too bad the original system had such obvious design flaws that the general gaming public ran it into the ground with (sidetalkin, having to remove the battery to change games, etc). The QD really is a great little system, though I would prefer stereo output when listening to MP3's but I'll let that slide for it's versatility.
Games wise I've been enjoying Tony Hawk, Snakes, Worms World Party and King of Fighters. As far as the newer releases that are up on LetsTalk, has there been any indication how long they will stock the games? I'm definitely interested in High Sieze and Mile High Pinball and don't want to miss out on them if they'll be disappearing any time soon.
Wow, big rant...but I really am impressed with this little system. For the closeout price it was a steal.
