Cu-On-Pa (Playstation 1)

Take a cube with colored faces, levitate ten miles above the earth, then roll around on panels chaining lightning bolts for the highest score possible! Such a unique idea for an action puzzler, an original game from a lost generation!
The title creates meaning as cube-on-panel, an updated version to the Super Famicom's Cu-On-Pa SFC. All major gameplay is preserved and none should cry about it. Do yourself a favor and play them all!
Main object is to roll the cube around such that a panel matches the top color of cube. Easy huh? Now the panel is gone, but some stay as lightning bolts for later terror. Quick, roll over the trigger panel! Now all alike colors explode, and bolts too so make them count for gloating points. Compete!
Within too is a limited-move puzzle mode, VS cpu mode and of course endless mode to give your brain spasms and retreat mind decay. Very cool game, $6 on ebay.

GAMEPLAY: 9
More complex than Tetris, less so than sokoban.
GRAPHICS: 9
A truer 3D vision than the SFC version.
SOUND: 8
Tunes from chippy to groovy, all decent.
ENGLISH FRIENDLY: 8
Menus and tutorials in Jap. but a keen mind can deduce the meanings.
OVERALL: 9
Original idea, fluid gameplay, great with beer!

PC Engine + AV Booster + all hookups (not shown) + 3P multitap + 2 controllers (excellent because the eBay description only said one controller; it showed two, but I was pretty sure I would only get one due to the description...bonus!)
Benkei Gaiden (PCE)
Street Fighter II' (PCE)
Majuuou (SFC)

Unfortunately, the PCE is quite yellowed, and both it and the AV Booster are fairly dirty and have quite a lot of odd scuff marks. One of these days, I'll take the case off and subject at least the PC Engine case to a major scrubdown plus a Retr0Brite treatment. I'm a lot less concerned with the AV Booster.

Everything works beautifully though. :)

Hori Fighting Commander PC [as in PC Engine] - I already own and love the SFC Fighting Commander, so I felt safe with this for SFII'. A previous owner modded it, one might say, by cutting down the turbo switches for IV and V to be just about level with the controller face. Sure, it's not mint, but I actually rather like this mod, as it's really easy to flip the leftmost switches by accident on the stock controller. I remedied this on my SFC pad by simply taking out all of the switches and replacing them with some strips of black rubber I cut down. But this mod fixes the issue AND leaves all switches usable. :)
Final Fantasy XIII - after hearing specifics about the gameplay, I was not too excited about this one, but I got a deal on a used copy ($20-ish), so we'll see how it goes.
Akutagawa Ryuunosuke volume of Nihon Kindai Bungaku Taikei - yeah, it's not gaming related, but it is an import, so what the heck. :P

Dracula X needs no introduction here. It's complete except for the obi strip, but I'm not really big on those anyways. I made a best offer of $76 on ebay and it was accepted. This is my first game for my new Duo-R, as well as a personal grail for me.

The SFC game is Umihara Kawase. It's a unique platformer where you control this little girl who wields this strange fishing line-like grappling hook. You use this hook to make it to the exit in some really abstract levels in the shortest amount of time possible. The game also employs a very realistic physics engine and the level design takes advantage of this mechanic. Very cool game! I got this for $49 off of ebay because nobody else bid on it.

This is the very first Sakura Taisen limited edition. It comes with a set of decals, Saturn mouse, and mouse pad. There is an "A" and "B" version of this set. The only difference is what picture you get on the pad, but the decals may be different too.

The game case had a cool poster inside that doubles as a map. I'm pretty sure it came with every copy regardless, so I'm not counting that as a bonus just yet. Pretty cool either way.

Excellent find. $55 local is a great price to be sure, especially complete in the condition you presented it as.

It's quite a bit different from the Dreamcast game and personally it's worth owning on 64 for that distinction. Had an N64 myself, I'd probably own this too. Enjoy it.

Yup. It's currently the only N64 game I own. :) The scoring is a lot closer to the Nintendo DS game. I actually think its the superior version between the DC and N64.

My recent import is a complete copy of Tenjin Oyasen 2. Wouldn't be surprised if no one has heard of it. Its prequel was Mercenary Force in the US. We never got the sequel.

Not sure how it is. Haven't had the time to play a bit.

Thanks! I have read that the Dreamcast version have a few gameplay changes and clearer visuals while the N64 version have a better controller style and kept the original gameplay like upgrades so it's debatable which of the two is better than the other. xD

Wow, Lagrange Point! I also have the game (cart-only, unfortunately) but have never been able to play it since I don't have a Famicom.

Can you post a picture? :)

I paid $50.22 for the game & it's quite a beauty with the whole packaging too.

Snagged a copy of Tear Ring Saga for the PSone off Ebay for $6. Aside from some light sun fading on the front cover, it's pretty damn minty and complete.

That's a nice Fire Emblem "clone" you got right there. In a positive way.
