Walked into a Game Over store today to pick up 19 games, one was King of Fighters Neowave, haven't put a lot of time into it yet, but it was fun to find another PS 2 import locally.

A number of CIB SFC RPGs, two obscure SFC Bomberman clones (Dotchers and Spark World).
Also a bunch of Famicom games: carts (including Holy Diver, Moai-kun and some weird firefighter Breakout clone called Flying Hero), as well as a CIB Gekitou 4WD Battle.
Also, a loose SFC game called Flying Hero (not related). Tried it in an emu and it seems to be a better, and sufficiently WTF, game, so I ordered a copy. :) A vertical shooter, apparently what Sting made before they started to making unusual RPGs. Got to love a game where you play as an aviator egg (or maybe it's a ping-pong ball?) that can shoot lightning bolts that get powered-up by devouring mass quantities of cakes.

Oh, I saw that Contra listing. It was more than I wanted to spend.

I tried to snipe several games from the seller, and was surprised I got out-sniped on several. Not surprised I lost Ninja Ryuukenden 3, but Cosmic Epsilon and Heavy Barrel higher must be higher in demand that I thought. :P
But I got King Kong 2 and later unexpectedly won RodLand. :)
$39 shipped for FC RodLand seems like a nice deal. I know I'd crap my pants if I won the Engrish version at that price. Any idea what that one's up to these days? :D

Nico87
03-20-2011, 01:17 PM
I made bids for Rod Land, Contra, Metal Storm and Holy Diver 'cause I'm OCD about CIB games. Metal Storm sold for $100, and my max bid was $80 or so. Damn you for winning Rod Land! Luckily, I have another source for it at basically the same price you won it for. I was kind of desperate for the CIB Contra as it's the only one I've seen on eBay / YAJ for a long, long time.

How much did Heavy Barrel end at?

SparTonberry
03-21-2011, 04:46 PM
I bid about $10 (which is a bit crazy, there's a few NES carts at about $5 BIN).
So, I think the winning bid was probably $10.50.

Got this non-working skeleton Saturn on ebay:

http://i54.tinypic.com/675b1c.jpg

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&rt=nc&nma=true&item=320667703118&si=y7Ie3kKOJ%252BRyR82B69eE1e8gRZw%253D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT

The problem was that the metal rod that the lens travels on was not in proper place, so the gears could not catch on to the teeth to move it. I tucked it back in position and it works flawlessly. I could not believe how simple of a fix that was. I was expecting a dead laser and planned on swapping out the entire drive assembly. The console is in excellent condition other than the white plastic parts inside somehow turned into an orange-ish color. I played 30 minutes of Xmen vs Street Fighter to make sure the everything works well (controller ports, cartridge port, disc drive), and it does :)

Got impatient and ordered SaGa 3 DS from PlayAsia for about $46.
I'd love for Square-Enix to make me feel I just wasted my money by announcing an English release (and I'd usually give it more than 2 months), but it's getting near the end of the DS life and S-E disappointed me by not translating SaGa 2 (which I thought was a safe bet).
Currently, it looks like a used CIB SaGa 2 will still run me about that. Perhaps wait and see if it drops after 3DS is out longer and DS interest drops?

Well, other US sellers charge $5-10 for a service that's 2 days slower. I pay $4-6 for Air Mail from Japan which is a bit faster or about the same delivery time as the service he use, and around $12 for a game shipped with EMS which is a good few days faster.

It would have been 'Pocky and Rocky,' and looked similar to what is shown below:

But, somewhere along the line Taito pulled out and so the developer Starfish changed the game slightly (characters and levels) and released it under a different name (Legend of Sayuki in Europe and Heavenly Guardian in the US).

Expensive shipping from rakuten (around $30 :( ), but it was also fast (only a couple days :) ).
Pretty bad that the most expensive game in this lot is probably also the worst one. But once I subject my friend to it, it'll hopefully be worth the just over $3 cost.

Maaaaaaan, I'm looking for a CIB copy of that one. Yahoo Auctions, I take it?

Nah, eBay, but pricey. I need it for my own CIB collection.

I know: Best Collection, but I already have the original mint. This copy is for back-up and for general completeness of my Megaten collection.

A couple weeks ago I got a Japanese PS2 with Dance Dance Revolution 2nd Mix and Eternal Ring (JP).

Then today I got Shinseiki GPX Cyber Formula: Road to the Infinity for 9.95.

Here are my most recent imports. Ignore the Game Gear.

I ordered a bunch more games from hit-japan.
From his site, CIB Energy Breaker for SFC and CIB LaSalle Ishii's Child's Quest for FC. And from ebay, Super Genjin 2 loose and Marvelous CIB. Still waiting on the first, though it's happened that I ended up getting two separate orders at the same time.
Most recently placed, I suspect even G.O.D. (CIB SFC RPG) will have to wait until Golden Week is over. :D (yes, I know that was a terrible joke to make)

I traded out a defective Super Adventure Rockman for the Saturn for a quite nice Super Adventure Rockman PSX. The Saturn one was one of the defective prints, didn't find out till 2 years after I had it and Arasoi of these boards pointed it out to me.

Denyru Araira-Bo Returns Playstation

I didn't know there was a US version called Irritating Stick otherwise I wouldn't have bought this. Beat all stages in about an hour and a half. Pretty good game for 6 bucks complete with little scratches.

I just recently got F-Zero for Game Boy Advance complete with box and instructions a few days ago.

I already had a copy but that one doesn't have the manual or the box.
