Kid Niki 3 is a game I'd like but is a bit pricey.

Our next imports (which we just ordered on Play-Asia with the 25% off coupon special) are Okami HD (Asian edition) and MapleStory DS (added so that our order could total $60, which we ordered along with a Wii-to-USB controller adaptor. The whole order totalled $50 (and since we had $20 left in Paypal after selling a vintage Walkman on Ebay, it only cost us $30 for the whole order). Will post pics when we receive the package. :)

I was hoping I could help someone spend less on an import, but I found out it's not really all that expensive, and breaking the region lock on a Wii is more trouble than it's worth. I can't play this, but it looks like it could be fun. If interested in trading for it, send me a PM. I may update my sale thread with this too.

I only own two import Wii games (Earth Seeker and Pandora's Tower PAL).
I was probably just going to hold on to those for a few years until emulation becomes possible/feasible.
Although with the number of Wiis sold, it'll probably be cheap enough to get a second to use for region-unlocking purposes before that. :D
(haven't played Pandora yet, though I have the NA version as I'm sure such a late release will become rare soon enough.)

Yeah, Letterbombed Wii + Gecko is about all you need to play imports, it's pretty easy. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Huh? Wii emulation has been fantastic for the past couple of years. I've got the emu installed on all my PCs hooked up to a TV. Looks absolutely gorgeous in native 1080p (not upscaled). It's so great, I hardly ever use a real Wii anymore.

Got 2 books from France... the Super Famicom Bible and the NES/Famicom Bible. Both come in really nice packaging and contain both western and japanese hardware/software (and even homebrew). Very comprehensive (history, flyers, box art, etc... you name it).
Also Dodonpachi Saidaioujou, probably Cave's last shmup on a proper console.

Well, I'm living in Korea, so everything I buy is 'imported'. Luckily, Korea gets all of the cool Japanese stuff just re-branded in Korean. The games usually aren't translated. Anyhow, some items, all for PC. The G-Darius and Raycrisis are nice to have. Raystorm coming soon.

I should've bought the Sunsoft Memorial Collection 6 when I first saw it listed at like $40 a few years ago, didn't see another copy for a year and it jumped to $140.
I imagine 5 is still worth alot. Little Ralph probably wasn't cheap either.

Sunsoft Memorial 5 was $90 new/sealed. It sucks with those games cause 5 & 6 are stupid expensive, while the rest in the series I can get for about $30 new/sealed. Stupid popular games. Like you, I wish I picked them up from ncsx.com when they were first stocking them at $29.99!
Little Ralph was only $50 new/sealed because the seller didnt know what they had, luckily I was surfing ebay right as this was listed BIN $50!!! :)

Hah, this is the second time in recent days that I bid for something, only to come across the same bidder again on an Internet forum a short time later.
By the way, I'm the second highest bidder. I had some idea of the value of the item but for pragmatic reasons and fortunately for you, I couldn't bring myself to bid that much for it. By pragmatic, I mean it's like how some SHMUP games are worth $500 in the "market" but to me they're worth $10 because I don't even like that genre. And I don't even like the Arc the Lad series that much. Anyway, this is probably a once-in-a-lifetime purchase for you to be sure.
Just out of interest, what was your maximum bid? Just so I can feel better and rationalise about missing out on it.
Also I might as well use this opportunity to ask, what do you know about the contents of the game? Is it a completely unique game, or if not, does it have unique material? In what way does it differ from the "Arc the Lad: Monster Game and Casino Game" release?
Info I have at the moment include the back of the case congratulating the 1000 people who were selected to receive this game, and that Arc the Lad II Save Data is necessary to play the game (same requirements as retail release).

My max bid was $350. I bought it to immediately trade for a large group of sealed ps1 games Ive wanted. I could care less about Arc the Lad, although I wish I could have checked out the contents of the disc. Not a once in a lifetime purchase either, Ive found crazy stuff from this same seller, including a $1000 Famicom game (Exed Exes Silver Members label) for $33 bucks!

Well, technically it's running against Sonic SMS for "most valuable sticker". :P
(well, maybe that's not quite a right comparison. With Exed Exes, it literally is the label that's valuable, though.)

Thanks! I think they're an offshoot, pseudo insiders mag going over happenings/releases in SNK as a whole not just NeoGeo products. If you've seen them, similar to the Capcom Friendly Club magazines and videos. A bit lesser known compared to the typical "NeoGeoFreaks" magazines.

I started adding to this lot out of the need to add a few Xbox import items to my collection. Somewhere along the way I also got a semi large lot of PSP games/videos. I was actually in need of some good PSP games since I have a total of maybe 5 titles for the system. So now....well, I'm still in need of some good PSP games. But the SPR games are a nice fun distraction in the way that a mobile game can be. You know, when you're really bored, nothings on tv and you have nothing else better to do. But they were all cheap so I can't really complain....much.

MOAR POPPURU!
The interesting thing (and actually the main reason I bought a lot the games in this bundle) is that Popful Mail trial version Mega CD. I'd never seen one for Popful before so I felt compelled to add it to my collection if I could.
I've got a third box coming in which has a lot more of the goodies I really wanted to play with first :D

Hmmm... I'd rank it as somewhat rare and expensive. Usually can find a copy and it averages a bit under 200.
I don't know what your tastes are in a shmup, but could always give the ISO a try on an emulator and or check out the youtube vids. It's probably not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it enough.

Haha, ain't that the truth.
Sometime in the mid 2000s or so, I watched one of those Game Paradise DVD video magazines. Each disc usually has a story or two about retro stuff. There was a little story about a big famicom collector in Japan. The crew visited him in his apartment. He had the obligatory mountains of famicom stuff. When they asked him what was one of the top rarest carts, he said Battle Formula. Now of course that doesn't count against those "special occasion/event" gold carts and similar... but it doesn't sound too far off to me in terms of normal releases.
A couple of years ago, it wasn't weird to see a loose battle formula go for about 20,000 yen and a cib to be around 30k to 40k yen (depending on condition). I think it's settled down a bit since then, but it's still up there. Not too long ago, a buddy of mine lucked out on a cheap lot of famicom carts.... one of the misc carts in the pile was battle formula! Lucky score for him.
I really dig the cover art though. It's got that bygone era style of anime on it. On a side note, I'd also like to get the ps1 sunsoft memorial version eventually too.

Magical Puzzle Popils (image linked to because it's large in size/webcam)
This guy made its way into my collection as part of a huge Game Gear lot from eBay. It's the only import in the lot, but definitely a game I've wanted to own for a little while. It's a puzzle game from the creator of Bubble Bobble exclusive to the game gear (and easily the best puzzle game on the game gear) where you play a young prince that has to make his way to a princess in each of the 100 levels. There's actually a save battery in the thing (a rarity for GG games, let alone a GG puzzle game), a resume feature that'll automatically put you on the last level you were playing when you boot up the cart (if you choose to enable it) and a level editor that lets you create and save up to 30 different custom levels.
There was a domestic release, but it's ridiculously hard to come by, so an import works just fine for me.
I'd definitely recommend picking up a copy to anyone with even the slightest interest in the game gear; it's not an expensive cart (then again, 99% of the GG library is inexpensive) and it'll last a good while.

I remember that video too, though didn't they ask him what was his favourite, and not what is one of his rares? Could've sworn he chose Battle Formula as one of his favourites but still was unable to finish the game haha. That segment gave me extra motivation to win. I spent about 45 minutes clearing the first 5 stages, then over 2 hrs just on the final stage alone. I think I was failing more than I should have been but I didn't give up and I got a good grasp on the very end. The ending is OK I suppose, but nothing stellar. I noticed a lot of familiar names in the credits as seen in Raf World. Good to see "Hebereke" helped make the game. LOL

A few more... Irem themed.
Irem Madonna cab metal panel. Nearly fully enclosed minus a slit on the back. Previous owner looks like me put 4 very sturdy rubber feet on the bottom. Would make a great console stick or supergun.

The Irem "Private Base" PS2 monitor. Was rated a very high quality LCD during it's time (supposedly). Has s-video and composite inputs.
