Apparently all the blood is censored from the US version. IGN says if you change your 360 language settings to Japanese, the blood returns. I'll pass. $10 is also way too much for an censored arcade port IMO.

Confirmed for the white blood. What doesn't make sense to me, though, is that the zombie attack is still red. In addition, with all of the blood-letting games that are already on the 360, why did they bother to censor THAT?

I will have to try that out. I noticed that there wasn't blood, pretty stupid.

Metal Slug 3 was tempting, but besides seeing all the flaws in it.
So what are all of the flaws? I played the demo version and was cool with it. The lack of blood doesn't phase me one bit personally.

Omega Five 800 pts.
Tron 400 pts.
I heard 2 people can play Tron, at the same time! Multiplayer light cycles!!!
I, personally, cant wait for Discs of Tron, myself.
I'm also hearing alot of positive feedback on Omega Five, from alot of gaming sites. And this week makes me glad I haven't spent any of my 4000 points I got for Christmas! :D

Omega Five kicks major ass, if you're a shooter fan.
Stay FAAAAAAAAAR away from Tron. They managed to totally mangle yet another classic. It plays and sounds like shit.
And MS - word to the wise. Make a rotary controller for games like Tron and Tempest.

There is a spinner on the Madcatz Joystick, it is halfway decent:

I totally forgot about that controller....
To be honest, that controller looks more faithful to Tron's arcade setup, than the regular controller.
But playing on the regular controllers..... You'd be better off playing with a loaded pistol. The rotary movement is slow and jerky. I'm praying Discs of Tron doesn't control as bad.

Try control method C (absolute aim) before you judge. I really liked the demo and am going to try the full game later tonight. but i am a Tron arcade fan so YMMV.

Tron has major issues. You can only fire with the trigger buttons. Good luck breaking through the MCP cone on the second level using the right trigger. They should have had a controller option where you can move your arm using the shoulder buttons and fire with A. The music is unbelievably bad; I have a C64 with a damaged SID chip and that is what it sounds like. The bad music eliminates a huge asset to Tron's appeal. And what's up with that crack sound every time you shoot into the MCP cone?
As a general note on XBLA classic games....if the game is vertical, I'd say it's OK to at least include an option to play it widescreen. If I'm playing games on XBLA in the first place I'm not exactly looking for purity. Tron just looks too small on the screen.
Only buy if you're a big fan of the tank game: it looks, sounds, and plays great (because you don't have to fire fast).
As for Omega 5, it violates two rather unreasonable prejudices I have:
-I don't like games that control like Robotron. (except for Robotron)
-I don't like shooters where people fly around (isn't that weird?)

I'm with you for the most part on the RoboClone hatred. Unless you can do it really well, you shouldn't bother. A few notable exclusions I give the free pass to:
- Everyday Shooter (ps3)
- Assault Heroes (360)
- Bangai-O (N64/DC)
- Smash TV (arcade/etc)
It's really quite sad how many games on XBLA and the PSN are shitty RoboClones with shiny graphics and nothing to set them apart, but there are a few that are quite good.
That said, I picked up Omega Five this morning and played a little before work and I really enjoyed what I've played so far. It reminds me of Bangai-O without constantly needing to open a path for yourself, and the dual sticks are infinitely superior to the DC's stick + buttons combo.

I've completely cleared the cones in the first two levels. The upper "triggers" also work, which helps a lot. The music is just... off, though. It gets really hard on the third board, but I almost gotten the default high score.

Same. I was a light cycle away from the fourth board and my high score. The cycle levels are the most unforgiving (followed closely by the tanks) with total randomness on if you're getting out alive or not.
The MCP levels are pretty darn easy; I can get the all blocks bonus on the first two rounds pretty much every time triggers or otherwise. I do need to try absolute aim though; I've been doing it with the spinner control scheme.

TRON!?!?
Oooh...can anybody confirm that it works with the MadCatz arcade joystick with the spinner control for Tron's arm / Tank Turrets?
**EDIT**
Big Tron fan, so I couldn't wait.
Like most of Digital Eclipse's console emulation, it's semi janky (awful sound translation ... some very off-key sections) and the screen gamma is a bit dark, though, that's probably very accurate to the arcade PCB.
The Mad Catz arcade stick spinner doesn't do the job, as it only works while you have the control setup to where the stick used for movement is the one inside the spinner, and well, no, that's not a functinoal setup.
OTHER than the above, I found the game rather playable indeed. The trigger works pretty darn well on levels where rapid-fire is needed (MCP and Spiders). Not a stunning translation of the arcade ROM, but not bad for 400 points ... especially with XBLA multiplayer competition.
I LOVE how they use the bezel/cabinet border graphics straight from MAME32! LOL

Update; beat the high score achievement without going to level 4. Just hang out and kill spiders for two lives on the 3rd board and clear the MCP on at least 1 and 2.
The light cycles on the third stage are just too damn random. The tanks are really bad too, but at least absolute aim helps a lot.
And I have NO idea how you get the achievement killing all the IO bugs in the first stage. They multiply too quickly. I've landed every shot and still been WAY behind getting them all down.
For the record, I have zero trouble adapting to the triggers to fire.

Having some Metal Slug 3 Issues. Anyone else?
Every time I boot up the game it signs me out of live. If I try and sign back in to Live, I can't play MS3, WTF? So, no multiplayer for me atm.
I was wondering if this was due to Live shit performance as of late or just my luck?
The Achievements in this one look pretty damn tough.
I also find it damn hard to shoot diagonal with the damn controller. I am pretty sure it could be done before though?

It depends on the gun. The pistol can only shoot in four directions, but the heavy machine gun does all 8 directions. I'm not sure about other weapons.

Has anyone manged to get all the spiders killed on level one? I can get two of the groups but the third multiplies too quickly.

This is actually a salient issue with me. I just got my 360, and I never had a gen1 Xbox, and I REALLY want to try Tron 2.0, but it's not on the compatibility list for the 360. (Thankfully Shenmue II is so that's one name I crossed off the list of "to play" games.) Anyway, they really need to update the emulation software to be compatible with 2.0. That would be great.

The week after sees "Siva" by Smashing Pumpkins, "Working Man" by Rush (cover), and "Ten Speed (Of God's Blood and Burial)" by Coheed and Cambria (cover).

No kidding. Activision/Red Octane apparently want too much of the profit from each downloaded track, so various record labels are blowing them off and making more money per download with EA/Harmonix.
Let's not forget that Activision doesn't want too many new tracks out there anyway. They don't want GH3 competing with GH4 later this year. I wish the Rock Band instruments were a little more reliable, because GH3 owners are getting the short end of the stick. Based on the tons of tracks I'm missing out on, I feel like I chose poorly when I bought GH3 instead of RB.

If you're on the 360, there's no reason not to own both. After all, the GHIII guitar works just great with Rock Band so you don't have to buy the bundle.
And, for the record, I've had zero issues with any of the Rock Band instruments. And out of my 6 friends who have it, only one had any issue at all (one of the drum pads was damaged in shipment, it works, but one side has sunk in due to a shot spring).
These 6 songs plus the 3 in Feb's OXM will bring the total number of tracks available for Rock Band to 111 which is pretty amazing. It's time to bring on the full albums though.

The game wasn't as bad as some reviews would lead one to believe ... unfortunately it wasn't as well received as the PC version (which sold well and was reviewed well to my understanding) ... and while it's not impossible to find one still new for XBOX in the wild, the demand is so low for BC that I don't think we'll see it happen anytime soon.
And, even if you have an original XBOX, you'll almost never, ever find anybody playing online...and I'm not sure if the game really ever had any type of serious online activity.
Sad really.

Well, that's okay because I was really just after the single-player experience anway. I'm more interested in just seeing how they translated that environment into a modern video game. Most FPS's have a really boring setting, in my opinion, which is what mostly keeps me from playing them. But Tron 2.0's environment looked like a lot of fun to mess around in. The default look controls for Liberty are way too gummy and sticky, and if you put it on Fast sensitivity, it's way too fast. It was neat how they threw in a bunch of obstacles and what not (trying to get down from the building) but I don't know. Graphics look xbox 1 style.

The Club is essentially a next-gen, expanded version of the Mercenaries side-game from Resident Evil 4. The people who played that thing to death are the main audience for The Club.
I loved it and even use to watch speed runs (on hand vs. eye) to find ways to maximize my score totals. I've probably put easily 30 hours into the Gamecube version of that side-game alone. I think The Club is going to be pretty good, but not for $59.99 right off the bat.

I tried out both of the new demos (The Club and Turning Point) and didn't really care much for either. Turning Point just seemed like a 'make-your-own-FPS' kit where the developers tacked on an alternate history setting and almost nothing else. The Club reminds me of OutTrigger for the Dreamcast, but with an obvious combo focus and equally as mediocre.
As for Undertow, I'm still not digging it, even for free. The cutscenes and "story" are complete throwaways, alongside the muddy voice acting. When all of that was extraneous and unnecessary in the first place, one has to wonder why it's there to begin with. It's basically yet another RoboClone, albeit a submersed one, that's neither terribly fun to play nor awful, which in many respects is worse than being truly awful.

2 is fine but just much easier than the other games. 1 and 3 are hard. Infuratingly, fight the same boss over and over for 7 hours, break a controller kind of hard. I just downloaded and played a few levels.
Thankfully Sega was nice enough to give us both the HD version of the game as well as the "original" standard version (so as to easily make a comparison).
The HD version is visually superior if you have an HD setup, it displays full widescreen and takes full advantage of the resolution. Looks beautiful. The standard version obviously tops out at 480, and does not display full widescreen if you have a widescreen setup.
The music and levels appear to be the same so far otherwise.
While it might be a pricey XBLA game, it's certainly a great alternative to paying $50 or more for a used PS2 version.

I also snagged Rez. I'd never played it before, so this was a pretty nice version to start with.
Really cool game. I didn't know it was a Q-entertainment game.

It wasn't. Q? didn't exist when it was first released thus it was Sega's property. But since Mizuguchi spawned off and created Q?, he must have retained the rights.

I think Q Entertainment is basically United Game Artist or whatever the name was to the group that developed Space Channel 5 and Rez.
I don't think Sega was ever anything more for Rez than the publisher.
