Just got some press kits. Now press kits are fun because they are
usually far more elaborate than most western special editions.

Sly Cooper (full game)
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/neopokekun/presskits/slycooperpresskit1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/neopokekun/presskits/slycooperpresskit2.jpg
The first Sly Cooper game comes in a hard cover book.
No press disc though, just the game.

Tekken 4 (full game)
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/neopokekun/presskits/tekken4presskit1.jpghttp://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/neopokekun/presskits/tekken4presskit2.jpg
This big box contains the game, press disc, two Baoding balls
(chrome plated steel balls with chimes inside, used for stress relief)
and a promo scroll.

Formula One 2001 (full game)
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/neopokekun/presskits/f12001presskit1.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/neopokekun/presskits/f12001presskit2.jpg
Contains the game, press disc and a DVD with an exclusive review of the
Formula One 2000 season. This DVD is the same one that was included in
the limited edition of the game. According to the press kit the limited
edition was the first 500,000 copies so it's not that limited.

Ratchet & Clank Demo (two level demo)
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/neopokekun/presskits/ratchetandclankpresskit1.jpghttp://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/neopokekun/presskits/ratchetandclankpresskit2.jpg
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y16/neopokekun/presskits/ratchetandclankpresskit3.jpg
Fun packaging, it's a metal box closed using a nut and bolt. When
you open it you find some 36 cardboard cards with info on the game
and all the different weapons and items in it (one card per weapon).
Demo disc, press disc and a third disc entitled "goodies" contining a
copy of the ratchetandclankgadgets.com website.

I found a supernova in the wild and I love it. The sticks are great. If you do buy one from them ask them if they can wire the cps2 kick harness on instead of the cps1 (what they use by default). This way if you ever start playing those games it wont be a pain to get it rewired.

Ok, I won an auction for batsugun and I emailed the person if I can pick it up (he lived in the same city). Well I went yesterday to pick up the game and he told me if I was interested in buying some other items. He showed me some alright games that I already had or had no interest, then he opens up his closet and show me a turbo duo (japanese) boxed and offers it for $150. I was debating and then he goes and offers me the turbo and two games and one of them was Dracula X; and he still only wanted $150. Overall I got batsugun and a turbo duo w/ dracula x and bonk 2 for $195.

Killer finds there KJN... Would love to run across some of that kind of stuff sometime...

Anyways, found this at the Goodwill... I needed it too, after I nearly broke my middle finger in my car door

All complete, and in pretty good condition. The inside slide cardboard case to Pagemaster is a little rough, but thats it for the most part

http://premium1.uploadit.org/mattiekrome//Goodwill-02-22-06.jpg

Oh, and they also had a "Bubsy" for Genny. It was a different looking Bubsy though, not in the typical black plastic case. It was in a cardboard box, looked sort of like something you would get a computer game in, but sure enough it had a genesis cardboard insert inside of the box. I might pick it up next time Im out

Phew...what a crazy day. Went to a rediculous amount of places, but had a lot of fun. First, everything I got a few days ago at my local Gamezone:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/hellvin/tucson2001.jpg

Dreamcast - Grand Theft Auto 2 (complete) - 11
Dreamcast - Royal Rumble (complete) - 4
Genesis - IMG International Tour Tennis (boxed) - .99

NES Manuals:
Bard's Tale
Megaman 6
.50 each
NES Box for Gyruss - .50

Gameboy Boxes - 1 dollar each. All but 3 or 4 had manuals. Kirby & Space Invaders had their cart trays as well. He also threw in a couple clear trays. I think they're for gameboy color?

Today I drove to Tucson and visited all my favorite stores out there. I was looking mostly for genesis and NES stuff I didn't have and did pretty decently.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/hellvin/tucson2002.jpg

Dreamcast - Gundam (complete) - 10
Genesis - Double Dragon V (loose) - 6
Genesis - Gods (complete) - 5
Genesis - Paperboy (complete) - 8
Genesis - Quad Challenge (boxed) - 5
Genesis - Richard Scarry's Busytown (complete) - 3
Genesis - Warrior of Rome II (complete) - 9
NES - Magmax (complete) - 5
NES - Pirates! (complete w/ map) - 10

I was really happy with Pirates! & especially Warrior of Rome II. Always goes for waaaay too much. That's a tough title knocked off the genesis list. For the first time as well, I finally found Gundamn for under 25 !@#$ING dollars so I picked that shit up.

I had a message on my phone that my transfered items from Flagstaff arrived at my local bookmans, so I stopped there on the way home and got:

Dreamcast - Conflict Zone (complete) - 4
NES - Challenge of the Dragon (complete) - 20
NES - Kid Kool (complete) - 4

Pretty pricey on dragon for the NES, but what the hell. Pretty uncommon unlicensed game in great condition.

Then FINALLY I had a strange hunch and decided to check out a Goodwill I've never found shit at before and lo and behold! Nothing amazing but something none the less...

Gameboy - Fortified Zone (complete)
Gameboy - Muhammed Ali Boxing (complete)
NES - Mad Max (complete)

3 bucks each.

Mega Bomberman came in the mail. Well, that's that. Tiring day and I get to get up at 6am for a fun day of work! Sweet!

I went to the Phoenix Fair Grounds today to check out the rummage sale there, and it was !@#$ing insane. Several thousand people rushing inside this damn building. The line made theme park waits seem like paradise. Once I got inside, they had a ton of cheap systems and quite a few games, but there was a line of over 100 people in the way just to check out of the electronics section. People were hauling large patio chair and table sets through crowds and it was just a mess so I got the hell out of there.

Headed over to the Glendale 9 swap meet which was much calmer and picked up:

Sega CD - Android Assault (complete) - 2.50
Sega Genesis CD Ram Cart (loose) - 2.50

I'll probably throw the ram cart up on ebay once I test it out.

Had a good day today. In fact just came back from the scorching sun and thousands of people walking around looking for deals, heh. It's good to be in the comfort of home again, and nothing like the hunt and the feeling of going home after the home. (1 giant flea market)

My 1st video game stand saw a modest SNES collection, mostly sport titles. The two that caught my eye, Home Improvement and Rocko's Modern Life, I decided to get Rocko only. $6 he asked. But I said how about 5 and he shook his head yeah sure why not. lol. What a nice old Asian man.

2nd stand saw a BUNCH of SNES games I wanted, but the old Mexican guy was absolutely outta his mind. I gave him like 10 loose carts I wanted, and he asked for $120. $12 per game "because they're out of print and classic." Uh, right. Most of these games are in the $5 range. I walked away but then saw

Shadow Dancer
Chiki Chiki Boys
General Chaos

all boxed with manuals. I asked him for how much and fearing the worst, he said "Oh those... eh, $20." So I happily bought them for 20. I dunno if I overpaid (might have) but whatever, it's not like I overpaid a WHOLE lot. Just wanted to get those games complete then and there.

Next stand I picked up Boogerman and Lemmings 2: The Tribe for $10 total. The Mexican young adult was cool with me -- gave me a good deal, Boogerman was marked at $7 and Lemmings 2 at $5 but he said "You can take it for $10, just don't tell the guys."

Over to the next game stop I got Arkanoid: Doh It Again and Pac-Attack for $10. 30 year something Mexican guy was standing there for a while, examining Arkanoid wondering how much he should sell it for. He thought it was rare.

"No it's not rare at all, in fact this is the 2nd copy I seen of it today."

"Are you sure? I think this is the only one."

"Naw, I saw it for $5 at this other place, I was going to get it but I like buying in bulk."

He pondered some more.

"This is the classic pong-like game no?" He asked.

"Yeah, it's a good one."

"MMM.... OK. I believe you. $5"

That was kind of amusing to me. And yes, I really did see it for $5 at a previous place, I don't lie to people.

My last stop of the day I met this generous old Asian man. He had a CRAPLOAD of SNES games, but they were all $10 a piece. Damn I thought. I asked if he'd give a discount. He said $8 is the lowest he'd go. Then he said "Oh but I do have these 2 stacks here for $5 each."

He lifted two boxes out and I asked him why $5. He said "Because these I have a lot of."

Hey I'll take it, lol.

So after some digging I bought

Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems
King of the Monsters
The Addams Family
Super Smash TV

for $20.

The funny thing is, 3 of those titles I wanted were in the $10 pile. What a silly old man. :D

So I walked out with 12 games, 9 SNES 3 Genesis. $65 or about $5.41 a pop. Not a bad day. Got some HTF ones, like Boogerman SNES, which pops up rarely on eBay, and also goes in the teen's even loose...

-hellvin-

Good finds on those games nesmaster! That rocks. And Steven, I'd say good score on those three genny games for 20 bucks. A complete general chaos alone can come near that. I ran back out later today to pick up a genesis cart, and found a few other goodies:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y20/hellvin/centy.jpg

Genesis - Crusader of Centy (loose) - 4

This is what I went out for...saw it at a pawn a while ago but didn't pick it up since it wasn't complete. Decided to go back and grab it for resale, or if someone possibly has a box?

At the other two thrifts, St. Paul & Value Village, I got these:

Atari 2600 - Random commons (loose) - 2.50
NES - Ninja Gaiden III (loose) - 2.99 sweeeet

Couldn't pass up the atari games for 2.50. Most are in excellent condition, a few are messed up. I've been looking for NGIII FOREVER, and finally got it at a great price.

If anyone out there has a Ninja Gaiden III or Crusader of Centy box PM ME! ;D

I'm a happy man today. :D I stopped at a used game store the next town over and found something from my childhood.

Video Pinball by Atari
$14.95 with original power supply and Game/TV switch.

I don't care if I overpaid for it. This was the very first home console my Dad (R.I.P.) bought. I was only 2-3 years old at the time. I barely remember picking it up from the local store but I remember playing that sucker up until the time he bought the 2600.

Oh also got ESPN Hockey Night for Sega CD for .99

Monte is R6 here $25
Star Wars is R5 $20

Both have box, game and manual.

I went to out hitting a bunch of shops yesterday 2 hours away.

First GoodWill-Nothing
Second GoodWill(never been in this one before)-Nothing
Salvation Army(never went to that one before either)-A few Genesis sports games, but other than that nothing

Then, we were going down to highway going to a flea market, and I noticed they open a Cash Converters. I must have be the grand opening because they were PACKED @_@ . They had lots of old games, but they were pretty much all sports games. But I did manage to pick up Chuck Rock for GG for 3$

Then went to a indoor flea market and went to the electronics store inside. Saw Castlevain Bloodvines for 5$ loose but it had a rental sticker on the lable. Pased it up, I might regret it though. So nothing there either

After that I went to GameStop, mom bought me that MegaMan limited edition controller, for my birthday(which is in May :( ) But I myelf found nothing. Saw Disney Spors Skateboarding but the cover was faded.

Out the way out we hit another GoodWill, passed on some ames but were mostly sports games. Did find however a CD sampler with a song I really like on it for 37 cents, pretty cool.

So it wasn't a wasted day, even though I didn't find much.

I went to a car boot sale before work today. For the first time I got something that can be considered a "haul".

At the first stall I got five PS1 games for £4.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v297/fibblewith/Picture253.jpg

At the second stall I got a Gameboy Advance, with a light, and battery pack with charger for £8.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v297/fibblewith/Picture256.jpg

At the third stall I had a rummage through a box of PS1 stuff which had a strange controller I'd never seen before. I asked how much he wanted for just the controller and he said £3. Then I asked about the memory card, he said £5 for that and the controller. He said I could have the lot for £10 but I only had £7 and told him. Sold! I put my hand in my pocket for my wallet and it wasn't there. Shit. I looked in the bag of stuff I'd bought and it wasn't there. I went back to the second stall and asked if I'd left it there and the seller had picked it up. Phew!

So I got a PSX with the hookups, two standard controllers, the analogue joystick, a memory card, and nine games for £7. I'd say that's a very good price.

Stopped by EB Games yesterday, and picked up some games for the first time in a month.

Crazy Taxi (PS2 - Complete) - $9.99
The Getaway (PS2 - Used/Complete) - $4.99
F-Zero GX (Complete) - $9.99
Mega Man X Collection (PS2 - Complete) - $29.99

I got a good deal on The Getaway. First copy I came across was for $19.99, and the woman at the register told me that they had a used one for $4.99. So like any smart person would do, I took the used one for a lower price.

It's not really worth much more than that. I bought both of them at full price, £30 each, and finished both of them in a couple of days. You'd think I'd have learned my lesson after the first one and waited for the price to come down. The second one was completely an impulse buy.

John Madden Football Championship Edition - if anyone has this game, I would like some information on the manual. Was it the same manual as the standard version? This one came with a manual but the front cover has been ripped off. Other than it is minty and I'm happy. - 6 bucks

awesome find man! That's one of the last 75 games I need for genesis. Weird too, you're the second one who's had one with a manual missing the cover on this site ;D. The manual looks exactly the same. Gold border. So it's basically the madden 93 manual, just gold.

I went to Gamestation today to trade in the PS1 stuff. I just don't like PS1 any more. They wouldn't take two of them because they were a bit scratched. With the console and 12 games I got £35 trade in.

I used it to buy Super Bomberman 2 for SNES and Earthworm Jim for GBA. I still have £7 credit because they didn't really have anything else worth buying.

Then I went to an indy shop and got a SNES Game Genie for £2.50.
